The Athletic Reporting that NCAA Infractions Include Analyst Coaching on Field
The article is paywalled, so I'll just summarize key points about infractions:
1. 3 sources confirmed that one is for an analyst coaching players on the field
2. primary source indicated one involves text messages that violated rules.

Burn it all down. Death penalty.

I’d see guys like this at the gym a lot. We’d call them the EDUBs. Every day upper body.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:47 PM ^
Agreed, ban the program for 10 years. Unacceptable.
January 5th, 2023 at 8:57 PM ^
I cant remember who said it but it was something along the lines of the NCAA's track record to chase the misdemeanors while ignoring the felonies.....
January 5th, 2023 at 9:08 PM ^
Saw that quote earlier today pretty sure it was Jerry the Shark T. I think the rest of the quote goes along the lines of Kentucky just got caught breaking the rules wonder how bad the NCAA is going to punish Cleveland State
January 5th, 2023 at 9:31 PM ^
Come on guys, this is not close to being as egregious as doing too many push ups or sit ups, right,.....right?
Fuck you NCAA douchebags, what a bunch of bullshit this is, all the shit that so many programs have pulled over the decades and they're wasting time with this innocuous, lame ass shit.
January 5th, 2023 at 9:58 PM ^
I guess that means EMU is about to get hit by the NCAA

If the Mississippi river is a little muddier than usual it's because the entire SEC just shat themselves laughing.

Keith Jackson is among the living undead.

What is dead may never die.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:05 PM ^
Also that violations were self-reported.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:18 PM ^
The NCAA are fools if they bring the hammer down on negligible infractions that are self reported. The logical consequence is that no one will self report if there is no leniency for doing so. At that point the only fools would be those still self reporting.
And this is where I grit my teeth and hope that neither the NCAA nor my school’s administration are fools…
January 5th, 2023 at 7:48 PM ^
hope that neither the NCAA nor my school’s administration are fools…
Welp, hate to break it to you, but your down to hoping that your school's administration isn't fools, but they already reported it.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:48 PM ^
When has the NCAA done anything logical. They are going to punish UM as publicly as they can, while basketball violations by Arizona, Kentucky, UNC go unacknowledged.
January 6th, 2023 at 12:54 AM ^
I'm still trying to figure out how UNC can have fake classes, with fake grades, and not a fucking thing happens to them. Those players aren't fucking eligible!
Never mind the NCAA, how did UNC not lose its accreditation for that?!
January 5th, 2023 at 8:01 PM ^
Self reported?
I'm curious to how this looked.
Some analysis was "coaching" and another person was like, "Hey! That's not analyzing, that coaching, you fool! We better report that."
January 5th, 2023 at 10:17 PM ^
The NCAA always hammers self reporters. That was why Mizzou got torched but UNC skated.
These are Level 1 and Level 2 violations.
Once the notice is served, Harbaugh is as good as gone.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:06 PM ^
Reading through, the analyst coaching on the field was self-reported.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:09 PM ^
Yeah but he was FIRST so details aren’t important!
January 6th, 2023 at 12:49 AM ^
Wasn’t this from the Ryan Osborn issue in 2021 spring ball? Taylor Upshaw accidentally said that Osborn was coaching their group during an interview.
Harbaugh said they addressed the issue right away.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:08 PM ^
This is the shit John u bacon thought may factor into harbaugh leaving college, lol?
January 5th, 2023 at 7:10 PM ^
It seems that it was Harbaugh's "response" to these allegations that got someone riled up.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:39 PM ^
100% this. From what I heard, Michigan gave the NCAA the middle finger for digging into this with everything else going on.
This probably wouldn’t have even gone public if it weren’t for Michigans response. Now the NCAA is going to come down hard on Michigan as a result. Potentially on Harbaugh himself.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:50 PM ^
What an absolute joke
January 5th, 2023 at 8:20 PM ^
Well, when we have cooperated, they F’d us.
January 6th, 2023 at 12:56 AM ^
I wish Warde would have channeled his inner Gene Smith and told the NCAA to go fornicate themselves.
January 6th, 2023 at 8:31 AM ^
Warde: 'Mr. President, I'd like to have a meeting to discuss the investigation.'
NCAA: 'No, we have what we need.
Warde: 'But, uh, I don't agree and would like the chance to refute.'
NCAA: 'No. We have what we need and there's no reason to refute or discuss it.'
Warde: 'Well, okay, but I don't like this.'
Warde doesn't strike me as the guy who goes out on a limb to defend his employees if it would make for a public fray... Do Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 bring up any memories?
January 6th, 2023 at 9:37 AM ^
It does but there's also a faction in this fanbase that defends Warde at all costs.
I don't know Warde; I assume he's a great guy in person. But he also doesn't strike me as a great leader.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:11 PM ^
Yeah, that’s malarkey! JH will spend zero minutes and zero fucks on this. That’s why M has a football staff.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:14 PM ^
Lol JUB is a clown
January 5th, 2023 at 7:30 PM ^
I don’t think he is and he might be onto something. News in Denver is the Broncos are all in on Harbaugh and are saying these allegations might be what he uses to leave Michigan

NCAA is a joke.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:12 PM ^
The NCAA is so corrupt and broken that it would be difficult for me to care less whether Michigan violated the rules. Seriously, who gives a crap? As someone said in earlier thread, programs get away with murder but jaywalkers, now that’s serious. Fuck those guys.
January 5th, 2023 at 9:41 PM ^
A private "not-for-profit" billion dollar organization that has monopoly power to generate multi-million dollar annual compensation packages off of the labor adults but somehow also has the legal authority to violate several standard labor laws while unfairly limiting the ability of those adults to profit off of their own actions?
You mean those guys?
Yeah, fuck those guys.
January 5th, 2023 at 10:20 PM ^
You may not give a crap, but if Harbaugh gets hit with a show cause penalty, you might as well try calling Bill Martin on his sailboat, because we're back to 2008.
