Corum’s snub aside, this is the worst heisman class I can remember in decades.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:13 PM ^
Caleb Williams is so annoying to me. Immense talent but painting "Fuck Utah" on your nails (?) before a revenge game and then losing that game badly is so embarrassing. I guess I'm rooting for Duggan because it will be fun to say we beat the Heisman winner.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:23 PM ^
Did not know he did that & will probably now think of it whenever his name is mentioned. Get classy Caleb.
December 6th, 2022 at 11:35 AM ^
He also did this then tried to walk it back. BS!
Caleb Williams Explains Deleted Tweet About Max Duggan – OutKick
The kid is kind of a douche bag!
December 5th, 2022 at 7:26 PM ^
Caleb and Duggan both had Heisman moments and then both lost, so I don't know who I expect to win.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:31 PM ^
Wasn't popular on here, but I wanted Michigan to get USC in the semis so they could crush the Heisman winner and USC's soft ass defense.
December 5th, 2022 at 8:10 PM ^
Well, we may still crush a Heisman winner and soft defense anyway.
December 5th, 2022 at 9:03 PM ^
I thought we just did crush a heisman winner and a soft ass defense
December 5th, 2022 at 7:43 PM ^
He also painted "Fuck ND" on his fingernails for the ND game.
Lame as hell.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:47 PM ^
Exactly. Everyone knows if you’re going to paint anything on your nails it has to be “To Hell with Notre Dame.” May need to use some toenails too.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:52 PM ^
I thought he did something similar when they played ND.
December 5th, 2022 at 8:17 PM ^
Same. He and "Look At Me" Lincoln are arrogant and smug. He's a great player (at least in college) and would probably have made things interesting had he not gotten hurt in the Utah game, but Lincoln only coaches offense and that shitty defense will be a feature as long as Riley is there. Fuck USC. Only was rooting for them because I obviously hate Ohio State more, but the OSU program is definitely more respectable in regard to how they treat their opponents.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:11 AM ^
Fuck USC. Only was rooting for them because I obviously hate Ohio State more,
Same here. I said Friday night, "I cant believe I'm saying this but go USC".
Hopefully that will never happen again, but I'm sure the occasion will arise.
December 5th, 2022 at 8:26 PM ^
Duggan plays with heart and puts himself on the line for his team. Not sure one can say that about any of the others.
December 6th, 2022 at 4:46 AM ^
He sure as hell did on that last TD drive. I don't think I've ever seen a player so gassed that he was pushing his celebrating teammates away just so he could breathe.
December 5th, 2022 at 8:34 PM ^
Immature classless trash.
December 5th, 2022 at 9:07 PM ^
Stay classy, San Diego. I’d like to think Michigan wouldn’t allow that.
December 5th, 2022 at 10:42 PM ^
Maybe he meant, "F*ck, Utah"
That said, the pregame piece they did with the whole manicure/nail thing with Leinart and Bush really made me not a fan, especially when he said, "I'm the best player in the country." That's a culture thing. I'm sure it's fine out in LA, but wouldn't fly in AA.
December 6th, 2022 at 8:43 AM ^
Someone tries that in Ann Arbor, a teammate pulls him aside and says, "This is Michigan, clean that up." I guess "This is USC" does not have the same meaning.
December 5th, 2022 at 8:15 PM ^
What a complete load of horse crap. How can we be a Playoff Team and not have a finalist?
December 5th, 2022 at 8:51 PM ^
The Team The Team The Team. And damn good one I might add.
December 5th, 2022 at 11:06 PM ^
Kevin Warren had no problem politicking for OSU in the playoff after getting bent over at home in a 22 point loss in the last game of the season...
but no politicking to get a 2nd B1G player into the Heisman race....a deserving one with better stats than the last 2 rb (Bama) to win.
Thanks Kevin...maybe you didn't get the memo...UM has been your flagship program the past 2 years.

After some reflection, I am at ease with this. You simply can’t be injured for the two largest games of the teams season and expect to be in the heisman conversation. It absolutely sucks for Blake, but if you think about Charles, Desmond, and Tom - they earned their heisman trophies (or at least sealed them) in their games against Ohio State.
- Charles through the punt return, defensive mastery on David Boston, and his offensive performance.
- Desmond via the punt return and his offensive performance.
- Tom literally got a standing ovation in Columbus for his offensive performance.
With that said, I don’t like how all the finalists are quarterbacks. I’d propose a rule change where at most two players from one position can travel to New York. That way, even if 4 quarterbacks are at the top; only the top two go, and the other 2 slots are given to the next highest vote getters at other positions.
December 5th, 2022 at 6:57 PM ^
Voters have the memory of a goldfish, so I'm not surprised.

Another big W for MSU today. SMH
December 5th, 2022 at 10:01 PM ^
Agreed, but also, this isn’t RCMB. Let’s not start whining about Heisman snubs. We all knew Corum wasn’t going to win after he couldn’t go vs. OSU. It sucks, but this is no surprise.
December 6th, 2022 at 6:18 AM ^
I think Kenneth Walker was a WAY bigger snub than Blake. And that is not a compliment to MSU. The fact that he was able to put up those numbers at State was insane. Look at their offense as soon as he left. Blake was definitely best in conference but he had an infinitely better team around him.
December 6th, 2022 at 7:30 AM ^
Edwards running for 200 yards per game in Corum's absence might have also hurt
December 5th, 2022 at 6:58 PM ^
Watching Stroud get the invite twice but walking away empty handed is gonna be delicious.
December 5th, 2022 at 6:59 PM ^
I'm surprised anyone that anyone thought he would be after that injury. He's not been mentioned when the award has come up in any context that suggested he was still a contender since then. It sucks, but when you get hurt at that point in the season it is what it is.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:52 PM ^
I'm surprised Stroud made it. In the three biggest games he was okay, but not a difference maker. Stetson likely made because the Southeast sportswriters had to get behind someone from that conference and apparently Hooker wasn't the one.
December 5th, 2022 at 8:31 PM ^
Considering he already surpassed the last two running backs stats who won it at Bama, it’s ridi that they just up and dropped him from the conversation.
Lesser performances were good enough for two Bama backs to WIN the damn thing, the least they BBC Kyle have done for Blake was invite him to the ceremony. ESPECIALLY considering that none of the other candidates really looked all that amazing in their last played games except maybe the TCU QB
December 5th, 2022 at 8:44 PM ^
How'd you know my real name is Kyle??
December 5th, 2022 at 9:22 PM ^
It's become a QB reward since then, he had an uphill battle without getting hurt,
December 6th, 2022 at 4:52 AM ^
Surpassed Ingram, sure, but definitely didn't surpass Henry, who had a truly monstrous season the year he won it, including 271 against Auburn and then 189 the next week in the SEC championship against Florida. And even if you remove those games Henry had better rushing stats through 11 games than Blake did. For Ingram though you have a good point.
It also probably doesn't help that Edwards really stepped up in the last two games. If the rushing game completely fell flat Corum would have felt more indispensable. Lucky for us, we have Edwards, but it must have hurt Corum in the Heisman raise.
December 6th, 2022 at 8:43 AM ^
What. Derrick Henry had 28 touchdowns and over two thousand yards. Not even close.
At the end of the day, it’s going to be impossible to win as a running back—or even be a finalist—when you miss the end of the season and only play half games during non-conference play. You’re just not going to put up the numbers you need.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:00 PM ^
If only an offensive line could win the Heisman.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:09 PM ^
If the guy running the ball didn’t get hurt they would have!
December 5th, 2022 at 7:00 PM ^
oh great I'm sure RCMB is taking this news great
(evergreen post)
December 5th, 2022 at 7:01 PM ^
More reason for Blake to come back and show why the snub is bullshit.
December 5th, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
RB careers are short. He should go get paid if he has the chance. I will be sad his career here ended that way, but rooting for him at the next level.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:02 PM ^
Maybe Stroud can take Duggan out for a really late night after Williams goes home with the hardware.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:02 PM ^
It was always going to be an uphill battle once he got injured. No doubt if he stays healthy, he's in and if he had similar or even slightly less than D. Edwards-like performances vs OSU and Purdue, the award should be his.
This is a QB award for the most part and maybe he returns next year and changes that narrative?
December 5th, 2022 at 7:22 PM ^
Please don't get your hopes up for Blake to return. We got three years out of him, and we need to enjoy that. We're only going to get three years out of Donovan and JJ, also. It's the way things are...
December 5th, 2022 at 9:45 PM ^
Yeah, I'm completely fine with Donovan Edwards as our starting running back. Fine if Corum comes back, I guess, but ... I don't think we'll suffer much if he doesn't.
December 5th, 2022 at 11:54 PM ^
They should leave with two National Championships on their resume.
They will have nothing left to prove and legend status will be solid.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:26 AM ^
And no doubt that both JJ and Edwards will go into the 2023 season as strong Heisman candidates. Lets enjoy the ride while they're still at UM.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:03 PM ^
Major fuck-up for the Blue Wall. I've been told, I am told, repeatedly, that they are omnipotent and of limitless reach, and thus The Corumation, even with his missing the last 2-1/2 games, was supposed to be unstoppable. I realize maybe they were busy pulling off the improbable coup, something only the Blue Wall is vicious and relentless enough to achieve, of somehow keeping the Playoff Committee from leaping a 1-loss division runner-up over a 1-loss conference championship game participant with a tougher schedule, all to give Michigan an easier path to the National Championship, but still. Total disaster, Blue Wall. Fire everyone.
December 5th, 2022 at 7:57 PM ^
In the Wall's defense, we were busy manipulating the legal system to impose the maximum possibility penalty on MSU's "Tunnel 8," while ensuring the charges against Mazi Smith will be dropped. There are only so many strings we can pull at once.
