Kirk Herbstreit's Delusional Comments
Herbstreit stated that the weather is what allowed Michigan to beat O$U last year in Ann Arbor. And I thought he was a good analyst. Braylon set him straight.

I don't care if they lost due to a tornado and that girl from Kansas with her little dog fell on their sideline. They lost, we won, story times over.
November 14th, 2022 at 6:59 PM ^
True, they can claim weather all they want if that's the narrative they are pushing. Our team played in it too though. Can't help that our team is built to play during inclimate weather better than theirs.
November 14th, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
I can't believe someone "thought he was a good analyst". He's just a totally self-inflated blathering mouth like Bob Costas in baseball. He never stops talking- thinks whatever thought enters his head is the greatest thought in human history and absolutely must be said, football game be damned.
November 14th, 2022 at 9:29 PM ^
I wouldn't put Bob Costas and Kirk Herbstreit in the same sentence, the same paragraph, the same chapter or the same book. The former is one of the great announcers of our time, the latter is ... not.
November 15th, 2022 at 10:53 AM ^
Agree. Bob Costas is a national treasure. Joe Buck, on the other hand.....
November 15th, 2022 at 11:45 AM ^
Disagree, it's great that Bob Costas loves baseball and is a walking encyclopedia of baseball history. It's not great that he prioritizes his stream-of-consciousness about baseball over the viewing experience (much like Herbstreit). He's a hair less insufferable, because he has more knowledge, so isn't just faking it, like Herby, but he's still annoyingly self-important and incessant. I'm sure that, in their announcing fields, Costas and Herbstreit talk more than any other announcers.

I turn them both way down and listen to it on radio if I can. I can't listen either of these arrogant fellows. It ruins the game for me.
November 14th, 2022 at 10:13 PM ^
This is just bitter UM fan BS. Strange given he never beat Michigan and is less of a homer than Desmond. He's one in the best in the biz. I do like him better with Fowler than Michaels though. Tribalists can downvote me, whatever.
November 14th, 2022 at 10:27 PM ^
Not a tribalist.....but logged in just to downvote you. Herbie is a homer (particularly this year.....because he feels the threat)....and his analysis is not very good
November 15th, 2022 at 7:52 AM ^
lol. didn't downvote, because i rarely downvote anyone. but if i did, it wouldn't make me a "tribalist," it would make me a "sentient being."
herbstreit sucks. so does suggesting that the only explanation for not liking him is that he's from ohio state. i can't stand gus johnson - does that mean i hate howard university?
November 15th, 2022 at 8:23 AM ^
I turned on the first Amazon Prime game this season. I didn't realize Herbstreit was calling the game. All I thought was that Amazon was scraping the bottom of the barrel for filling the booth. He was AWFUL! The dude never stops talking. I didn't watch long, and I don't go back often. Not because it's OSU Herbstreit but because he's a horrible announcer.
November 15th, 2022 at 10:13 AM ^
I don't mind Herbie as a college analyst, but yea the Amazon broadcasts are painful. He and Michaels have ZERO chemistry and Herbie sounds like he is trying to hard to prove he knows the NFL.
November 15th, 2022 at 10:04 AM ^
One of the best at what? He's horrible calling games, have you seen everyone complaining about him on TNF? And that's not college football fans. He's objectively subpar.
And say what you want about Desmond, he doesn't call games, who cares? Laurinitis is good...Spielman...there are other former Buckeyes on TV who aren't nearly the caricature that Herbie is.
November 15th, 2022 at 11:47 AM ^
There's a reason Howard isn't calling games. His presence wouldn't support that well, IMO. But Herbstreit is the worst on NCF games, and that's saying a lot with Gary Danielson, Brock Huard, and others out there.
November 15th, 2022 at 3:22 PM ^
I love him, not sure why others don't

The REAL champions play and win in all kinds of weather. Woody Hayes must have been turning over in his grave after their 2021 loss to our Wolverines.

Woody Hayes was cremated

The current forecast for this year's Game: Showers in the morning, temps in the mid-40s, and a stiff breeze at 11 mph.
Sounds like great football weather.

I thought it was the flu that made the difference?
November 14th, 2022 at 11:21 PM ^
There was hardly any snow and it was kind of cold and the ball was dry.
What a bunch of pussies.
November 16th, 2022 at 10:46 AM ^
Also, they threw for over 400 yards I think, so the weather made them not tackle well I guess.
November 15th, 2022 at 10:32 AM ^
Right. I'd rather have the weather alter a game than a refs spot on 4th down.

I don’t understand how in 2022 people don’t know how to post a link properly.
November 14th, 2022 at 6:42 PM ^
Maybe the Link icon could be neon colored and flashing.
It even works from an iPhone
November 14th, 2022 at 6:48 PM ^
I used safari on my iPhone.
November 14th, 2022 at 7:41 PM ^
I think it's just that a lot of software (Word, Excel, Lotus 123) automatically detect a link and make it clickable without anyone realizing it, that the extra effort (which is and incredibly small) needed on this here site makes it out of reach for most average humans.
November 14th, 2022 at 8:26 PM ^
I am an above average human and it is still out of my reach.
November 14th, 2022 at 10:57 PM ^
Upvoted for Lotus 123. Wow.
November 14th, 2022 at 7:13 PM ^
I understand. I didn't know for a long time, and didn't know where to look.
AND didn't want to ask and get downvoted for seeming like a rube. (Or being revealed as a rube in fact).
Finally, someone posted a quick lesson in how to do it—thank you, kind stranger—so that's why I habitually add a quick lesson myself.

It's a good joke.

I assumed it would link, my bad. I'm not a rube, I'm a chonky rube. Here is a peace offering.

A piece offering? You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?
November 14th, 2022 at 7:29 PM ^
I think that the 2022 people are too obsessed with the One-Armed Man to understand how to post a link correctly.
November 14th, 2022 at 8:36 PM ^
Sounds like you’re not trying to solve a puzzle here. Well I am, and I just found a big piece.

A flu-nado
November 14th, 2022 at 7:41 PM ^
Well, it was also all those 6th and 7th year seniors on Michigan.
November 14th, 2022 at 9:14 PM ^
And the entire team had the flu because the coaching staff was too stupid to get them a flu shot
November 14th, 2022 at 6:44 PM ^
Why did osu lose every time Kirk was quarterback against Michigan? That stuff sticks with a guy.
November 14th, 2022 at 7:00 PM ^
They tied once
November 14th, 2022 at 8:02 PM ^
But it was a great win according to their dweeb President at the time.
