Saturday forecast on the west side is high of 28, haven't looked at ann arbor
November 13th, 2022 at 6:35 PM ^
Same in AA
November 14th, 2022 at 10:19 AM ^
The good news about the forecast is - "dry". No precipitation predicted at this time.
So, it will be near usual November temperatures - easy to dress warm and stay warm throughout the game. The sunshine will help.

Oh, the shame of it all! Looked and was sure I didn’t see it, but obviously I fail the “observant” test. A thousand pardons….

Just delete the post instead of apologizing?
November 13th, 2022 at 6:45 PM ^
cute, you just assume there'll be sun in the upper middle west in mid November
November 13th, 2022 at 6:48 PM ^
Ooh thar be a Alberta Clipper a blowin' through...
November 13th, 2022 at 8:46 PM ^
Could be a Saskatchewan Screamer. Or a Manitoba Mauler

Don't downplay the danger of those Ontario Scary-o's!

Cleveland Steamer?

I saw him about 6 months ago and listening to that song live gave me chills. But this cover is bussin'!
November 13th, 2022 at 8:59 PM ^
Great version. I love the headstones
November 13th, 2022 at 6:58 PM ^
Glad it's noon.
This is new news to some and old news to others. Instead of snark, I will give you Jimi Hendrix
November 13th, 2022 at 7:04 PM ^
a left-handed genius. how many other notable left-handed guitarists are there.
November 13th, 2022 at 7:09 PM ^
Tony Iommi-Black Sabbath
November 13th, 2022 at 7:12 PM ^
Kurt Cobain.

Paul McCartney

Jimi played a right handed Fender upside down. A legendary guitar player who died way too young.
November 13th, 2022 at 7:33 PM ^
Dick Dale, King of the Surf Guitar. Shown here some 33 years after they first played it.
Edit; 33 years. I'm left-handed but I fall somewhat short of genius.

I imagine that being a left handed guitarist or bassist was probably quite the challenge back in the early days of rock. Left handed instruments were much less common than right handed. And most of these soon to be icons of music had humble upbringings where just going and buying an instrument wasn't easy to begin with. But then they had to track down a left handed instrument to boot. IDK, maybe I am making more of this than was the actual case.
November 13th, 2022 at 10:24 PM ^
I heard Ziggy Stardust played it left hand.
November 13th, 2022 at 11:19 PM ^
But made it too far.

Thanks for dropping the tunes in a thread now and then, GoBlueGoWings. I'm always a fan of your selections.

Billy Hoyle wishes he could hear Jimi

This comment is under appreciated
November 13th, 2022 at 10:32 PM ^
Thank you, GBGW!
Jimi was an artist who genuinely needed to wear an earpiece on stage. He couldn't hear himself well enough to know when his voice was off key. On stage, his guitar was usually perfect, his voice was not.
One of Jimi's fondest wishes was to play with a symphony one day. That wish was not granted to him, he didn't last long enough. But Slow Hand, Eric Clapton, did in 1990, with Michael Kamen conducting.

Nooners are good. Better prep for OSU. Beat Illinois. Win the game. Go Blue !
November 13th, 2022 at 7:36 PM ^
Plus we'll have one more hour of rest than OSU, whose game with MD starts at 1!
November 13th, 2022 at 7:42 PM ^
Not sure where a 1pm kick would come from, but they will have 3.5hrs + the time it takes OSU to get home extra rest. Every little bit counts.
November 13th, 2022 at 8:57 PM ^
1:00 was the traditional, pre-TV kickoff time. Even after most games became televised, occasionally a November game would be scheduled then for some reason. I guess they thought it'd be the warmest time of the day?
But it looks like OSU-UMd is at 3:30.
November 13th, 2022 at 9:41 PM ^
Kirk is flying in of course.
November 14th, 2022 at 7:00 AM ^
Speaking of Kirk, it's worth noting that this will be Michigan's last game on ABC for the foreseeable future. Although I believe the less ESPN the better, it's still odd as ABC has been a big part of Michigan football coverage for as long as I have been watching.
But the glory days of ABC Sports College Football and Keith Jackson and four games regionally at 3:30 are long gone.
November 14th, 2022 at 10:25 AM ^
The Ohio State at Maryland game kicks off at 3:30 pm EST. So, there is a difference in game time and travel on Saturday evening.
However, Michigan also travels to Columbus next week, so the travel times will probably cancel each other out.

I will be there. This will be my first game since we beat Army in overtime in 2019.
November 13th, 2022 at 7:53 PM ^
Ugh, I got a really bad sunburn that day
November 13th, 2022 at 10:34 PM ^
I remember that game…the sun was brutal and there were interminable TV timeouts.
November 15th, 2022 at 8:45 AM ^
Ah, yes the 24-21 THRILLER. This game took years off my life.
November 13th, 2022 at 7:41 PM ^
ABC has the game. I don't see anything listed for the Fox noon, I assume they will have TCU -Baylor.
Could do a lot worse than a 2Michigan v. 3 TCU semifinal. I don't want to see an all SEC championship game.
November 13th, 2022 at 8:07 PM ^
I will be happy to see Michigan in the playoffs, whatever the matchups, because it will mean we beat OSU.
November 14th, 2022 at 7:56 AM ^
I've been wondering, would they do a Georgia v Tennessee rematch? Right now it's looking like the order is:
1) Georgia
2) OSU/UM winner
3) Undefeated TCU
4) 1-loss P12 Champ USC
5a) 1-loss Tennessee
5b) 1-loss UM/OSU loser
6) 1-loss ACC Champ Clemson
If USC and TCU both lose 1, I can see them moving Tennessee up to 3. But if one wins out, and they're choosing between 1-loss teams, I don't see Tennessee getting a rematch.
Is it crazy to think that TCU or USC winning out could help the UM/OSU loser? As long as both don't and take the last 2 spots.
November 14th, 2022 at 10:27 AM ^
Teddy, Fox "Big Noon" will be in Waco for the TCU at Baylor game. So, one could probably assume that game will be the Fox broadcast at noon.

My buddy and I are attending. Had to dig the old hunting suit out of storage to be cleaned. My outfit might be at least partly Camo but my heart will be Maize and Blue.
November 13th, 2022 at 9:30 PM ^
I saw a guy in a snowmobile suit yesterday that was clearly from the 80s. No way you’d miss him driving around.
November 13th, 2022 at 10:44 PM ^
I saw a guy yesterday wearing his hunting costume and then a large old-school Starter coat style M jacket over it.
November 14th, 2022 at 11:05 AM ^
I have that jacket and wear it to my wife's chagrin. I told her you don't mess with tradition. But that wasn't me. No hunting suit lol.
