Michigan at #3 in Coaches Poll, Get 2 First Place Votes (OSU Got None)
November 6th, 2022 at 1:12 PM ^
I am practicing in case I ever need to do it.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:39 PM ^
November 6th, 2022 at 3:26 PM ^
Seconded.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:09 PM ^
Another week that fully demonstrated just how difficult it is to win week in, week out. Even more difficult if you want to win and look good doing it.
It's November. Win and advance.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
Alabama out of the top 10? Shocking! When is the last time that happened in any poll?
I completely expected them to stay within the top ten. Maybe dropping to 8th or 9th with LSU just ahead in the next spot.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:19 PM ^
As it is, the SEC has five in the top 11 of the coaches poll.
I, too, wouldn't have been surprised to see 5 of the top 9 from that conference, with ESPN then defending the idea all week.
November 6th, 2022 at 3:27 PM ^
And the Big Ten has 4 (or 5) current and future teams in the top 10!
November 6th, 2022 at 3:40 PM ^
I’m loving that tumble that Clemson took after getting lambasted by the Domers. 😂〽️
November 6th, 2022 at 1:12 PM ^
Who gave UM 2 first place votes? Is there a way to tell?
November 6th, 2022 at 1:15 PM ^
Phil Fulmer and Jim Tressel?
November 6th, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
Scott Frost and Pete Carroll?
November 6th, 2022 at 3:28 PM ^
To be fair Tressel's assistant did it for him as he previously said.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:28 PM ^
I believe that (unlike the AP poll) they keep the Coaches Poll individual ballots under wraps until the end of the season in December.
November 6th, 2022 at 2:01 PM ^
Interesting that the Voters tab on https://www.afca.com/polls/ still lists Herm Edwards ASU.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:40 PM ^
Urban Meyer and Bob Stoops?
November 6th, 2022 at 2:02 PM ^
Woody and Bo. It's a well-kept secret that they kept their coaches' poll status into the hereafter.
Woody's vote this week was a tough sell, but he loves groundpounders even more than he hates Michigan.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:15 PM ^
At least we moved up one spot from last week. 'Bama and Clemson dropped to #11 & #12.
There's more room for improvement with our team, like a stronger first half to go along with the very strong second half lately.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:19 PM ^
In 3 weeks, it will be perfect....
November 6th, 2022 at 1:30 PM ^
I just read that over the last four games our second half score has been 100-3. That’s insane.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
Should be 2nd. The bucks struggled
November 6th, 2022 at 1:28 PM ^
Buckeye struggled and the fans are rightly concerned.
November 7th, 2022 at 10:38 AM ^
Joel Klatt said this morning on his podcast they are blaming the weather and are already blowing up the weather.com app for weather on Nov. 26th. If they cant run the ball, I really like our chances, but both teams will throw in more than a few wrinkles.
November 6th, 2022 at 2:06 PM ^
I want to be behind OSU going into the game. Extra motivation.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:22 PM ^
I see ESPN's top 25 has Bama ahead of us. I wonder why that would be... ? Couldn't be bias because of money, could it?
November 6th, 2022 at 1:31 PM ^
Where are you seeing that?
College football Power Rankings after Week 10
1 Georgia
2 Ohio State
3 Michigan
4 TCU
5 Tennessee
6 Oregon
7 USC
8 LSU
9 UCLA
10 Ole Miss
11 Alabama
12 Utah
13 Clemson
14 North Carolina
15 Penn State
16 Tulane
17 NC State
18 Liberty
19 Texas
20 UCF
21 Illinois
22 Notre Dame
23 Washington
24 Kansas State
25 Kentucky
November 6th, 2022 at 1:57 PM ^
He's probably referring to the ESPN Football Power Index. Bama is also ahead of UM in Overall Efficiencies.
November 6th, 2022 at 2:05 PM ^
A lot of predictive systems have Alabama there. They're part of a big four that does not include TCU.
November 7th, 2022 at 9:47 AM ^
Yes, I should have been more clear, I was talking about their stupid FPI rankings.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:26 PM ^
Nice to see Alabama and Clemson drop out of the top ten. It just makes me smile.
November 6th, 2022 at 3:30 PM ^
They need to buy better players!
November 6th, 2022 at 1:27 PM ^
Glad we moved up to # 3 and got 2 first place Coaches votes, which is interesting. Clemson rightly out of top 10. For those who happened to watch Syracuse play Clemson even up in Clemson with some inconsistent officiating, some like me think Clemson should be rated about even with Syracuse, and thus are still overrated at 12. Of course Clemson has those big wins over Citadel, Furman and Louisiana Tech. Beat Nebraska.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:38 PM ^
Clemson will play for the ACC Championship. That was determined before kickoff yesterday.
One play, series, and game at a time.. Go Blue!
November 6th, 2022 at 1:47 PM ^
November 6th, 2022 at 5:41 PM ^
Softball, thank you Mr Fine Michigan commenter… I stand corrected…
November 6th, 2022 at 1:40 PM ^
The PAC-12 will settle some things out, and.. I believe Bama and OleMiss play each other this weekend. Some interesting games to watch..
November 6th, 2022 at 1:42 PM ^
And then there were four.
Only four unbeaten teams left, and the mighty Wolverines are one of them. Woot!
Beat Nebraska! Beat Illinois! Beat anOSU!
Wolveriiiiiiiiiiiiiines!
November 6th, 2022 at 2:30 PM ^
What movie is this gif from? At first I thought it was Red Dawn, but the actor doesn't look right. 😊
November 6th, 2022 at 3:38 PM ^
It's from the 1984 Red Dawn. It's Doug Toby as the character Aardvark.
Clips including that scene are here (check out 1:15 in):
November 6th, 2022 at 3:52 PM ^
Sorry. I was just being cheeky.
But I'm pretty sure the gif you posted is from the 2012 version. I've never seen it (the remake), but that doesn't look like a clip from the original.
November 6th, 2022 at 4:24 PM ^
You are right. That other clip is the 2012 version.
If I had been thinking of that angle, I definitely should have picked your clip from the 1984 original.
Also, 1984 -- a Harbaugh as quarterback year. The year he was doing great, but a Sparty broke his arm. It was a rough time that he came back from in winning fashion.
+1 to you, sir!
November 6th, 2022 at 3:51 PM ^
Is this from the second Red Dawn? Where the Korean infidels invaded Grand Ledge, Michigan? And were repulsed by Chris Hemsworth?
November 6th, 2022 at 4:25 PM ^
Yep, the 2012 Red Dawn.
November 6th, 2022 at 2:03 PM ^
This a reasonable ranking. It's as if college coaches (or their staff) know more about football than the jabronis on the committee. Imagine that.
November 6th, 2022 at 2:04 PM ^
So Tennessee is 5th in the coaches poll. That means they will be #2 in the CFB playoff rankings.
November 6th, 2022 at 2:12 PM ^
'Bama at #11 (giggles)
November 6th, 2022 at 2:57 PM ^
I see the Dispatch writer in the AP gave OSU a first place vote
November 6th, 2022 at 3:32 PM ^
Never thought I'd see the day where the coaches poll was the least biased poll, but then the cfp committee comes around.. I have to agree with just about every place in this one.
November 6th, 2022 at 4:19 PM ^
ohio state is going to have to play better than that if they have a chance to bear Michigan!
