Frankie Collins in the transfer portal via his IG
This shocked me! Had no idea this was remotely in his plans. A real bummer after he flashed such promise in the NCAA tournament.
I'll leave the hot takes to the rest of you, just sharing this news since he posted on IG 2 minutes ago.

That's a bummer
Yeah -- bummer is exactly the word I was gonna use! Truly surprising to me. Had such a bright future here! Wishing him the best of luck, but really disappointing.
Very surprised. Good luck to the kid
My thoughts exactly!
This hurts a lot. Michigan does not make the sweet 16 without him. Showed more promise his FR season than Simpson did and was about to get the keys to the car next year.
Agree on all counts -- which is why I find this so confounding. With Dickinson coming back, among others, he was about to get a chance to drop prolific dimes. Strange, and wonder what else there is to the story... Wishing him the best though!
This news is 3x a downer.
Dare I say 4x?
This is a shock and a big blow.
Juwan’s first two PG recruits leave the program before even playing 2 years. Unfortunate luck there for sure
At some point, do you have to question whether it is all about luck? When is it just bad luck and when does some of it start to reflect on Howard?
I was thinking more Howard Eisley. Guards haven't really developed and keep leaving under him.
What the hell are you talking about?
Zavier Simpson, Eli Brooks all significantly improved their games after Eisley arrived. Not to mention Mike Smith was an amazing contributor, and Devante eventually ended being pretty good.
All of those guys were either Beilein guys or transfers. I wouldn't call their improvement significant after he arrived.
Who has he developed on his own that wants to stay with him? Caleb Houston, Kobe Bufkin, Frankie Collins, Zeb Jackson...?
Politics in this game crazy, go be great brudda, love you 💙 https://t.co/cuSvb7Kqzk

Is this a sign that T-Will and others don’t approve of Frankie not starting or they are not happy Juwan recruited a transfer G instead of sticking with what they got.
Porqué no los dos?
Yeah Twill and the others thought we should run out 3 guards on our line up. Two of them below 6 foot. Seems like the correct path. Damn it.
Now its time for the NBA to ravage our front court.

To me the fact that Juwan signs 2 pg’s then back fills starters from the portal instead of letting the kids grow, makes this predictable. Nowadays you can’t expect kids to want to wait. Probably be negged for this but I think the way Devante Jones continued to get to play when he clearly was not a B1G pg was just maddening. Said the same about Zeb last year when Juwan didn’t get him enough minutes to be prepared and could’ve used him against UCLA… Gotta figure this out!
Can somebody tell him to relax and don't do it.
I hope so! I'll text him right now...
Is he going to Hollywood?
Not too surprising given the transfer addition of Jaelin Llewellyn. This is just the state of College Basketball now with players coming and leaving. Hopefully Frankie finds the right spot for him, he's a promising young player and was very fun to watch during the NCAA Tournament this year.
Agree in some ways, but my impression wasn't that Llewellyn was arriving to hog all the minutes. Figured they'd complement each other well...
The Princeton guy is a 2, not a PG, so that doesn't explain it.
He was recruited as a PG
"Attention Attention everyone gather around. 6 months from now we will be playing but please let me state this guy is our starting PG and will get almost all the minutes"
"That will be all"
Juwan you just arent good at the coaching my man.
/s
I don't get it. People are saying it's because of who we're going after in the portal, but isn't Llewellyn a 2 and Emoni a 3? I would get it if T Will or Bufkin were transferring. No idea who is going to play the 1 next year
Agree -- totally confusing to me.
Emoni thinks he’s a PG. I really hope we didn’t push Collins out for any transfer
Emoni as pt forward? LOL
Collins with 2 shooters in Llewellyn and Houston, the junkyard dog in TWill and B1G POY...it makes no sense to transfer from that.
That is truly an ideal starting lineup. A true PG, shooting, a big, and a versatile switch guy who might be your most consistent player.
What the actual F!?!
This is not good!
Man, we will miss him. Thanks Frankie for bailing out a rough season with a fantastic tournament run!
Well said all the way around!
WTF & FML
Baffling on the face of it. Must be more to the story.
Well said. Perhaps some other family or other situation happening, hard to know...
Sucks so much. Kids going to be a star! All you fuckers who downvoted me yesterday for calling this can return the favor.
No thank you.
Downvote returned. Since I missed it the first time around.
I think everybody misread my post. I meant everybody should give me upvotes!! Please upvote this post instead :)
I don't want to disparage Frankie Collins specifically, but if this kind of stuff is the current state of college basketball I can't imagine it's going to hold my interest much longer.
Edit: If Frankie Collins needs a change of scenery or just wants to play somewhere else he should have that opportunity. If the roster is going to have 3-4 new starters every year due to transfers in and out I just can't see myself maintaining the same level of interest.
Weird. Even if we put out an entirely different starting 5 each year I would still root for Michigan.
I didn't say I'm going to not root for Michigan. Will I have the same level of interest? Unlikely.
You said it's not going to hold your interest, which would mean you'd be uninterested and therefore indifferent
My feelings exactly.
I just don't get this line of thought. Was it awesome that a guy like Eli brooks stayed 5 years? Yes definitely. But did it make me *more* interested in our team? No, not really. I was very interested in our team and I always will be regardless of how many years our starters have been at the program.
I agree with the OP. Guys that transfer in for one year just aren’t the same as the guys who are all in from day one.
This board was in love with Chaundee Brown by the end of 2021 season. If we win the fans will be happy
