Where is he going next, Hollywood?  Tell him to Relax, Don't do it.

0-4 since they brought him…

0-4 since they brought him in at an interim coach.  Too bad this doesn't count against his all time record as a coach. Thanks for coming out of retirement coach!

Yeah, no home "court"…

Yeah, no home "court" advantage in this one.  Nice to retain a CA attorney to start the PR battle.  Probably taking this case pro-bono in the hopes that he gets to represent the Austin Robertsons of the future Sparty Generation.

I can recall Don Brown…

I can recall Don Brown spending much of spring practice time defending the triple option of Army and he was openly honest about that.  Why not maybe devote that time to Ohio State instead?  They had his predicable defense figured out after one year and he was unable to make any adjustments.

Yes, the "Peppers runs into…

Frames -  the "Peppers runs into hurt QB" against Colorado in 2016 might still be one of the funniest things I have ever seen on this blog.

Can somebody tell him to relax and don't do it.

He'll probably get the Austin Robertson treatment - they will still admit him, but he will have a couple extra conditions like having to report directly to the head coach every week and agree to stay away from frat parties.

Yes, I agree on the Albany connection.  Pretty excited for the tournament in a couple of weeks.  Really hoping that MI makes it out here.

It would be nice if the whole DL returned next year but I would not blame Uche for leaving - he has a unique skill set for the NFL and will likely graduate this year.  Not sure he has a ton to gain by staying.

Duke (+35 when I placed my bet) against Alabama.  Alabama has a new offensive coordinator plus some injury and off the field issues.

South Florida (+13.5) against Wisconsin.  Night game at home for USF, new QB for Wisconsin plus they won't like playing in this humidity.

Tulsa  (+22.5) over MSU for reasons already stated.

Florida A&M (+47.5) over UCF.  I just don't think UCF will cover this, especially in first game of season.

Arizona/Hawaii is being played in Honolulu, not Australia (note, I have money on Hawaii, that is the only reason that I would care).

Best of luck to him and a great guy from what I hear.

Regarding open spots, I can only see two likely firm handshakes but six early entries to the draft seems a little high (3-4 seems most likely).

Thanks for sharing.  Always nice to hear the different perspective.  I got into both for undergrad but ended up going to a small private college where I got a full scholarship.  I then was in the process of applying to law schools after undergrad.  I had siblings that went to state and I would have gotten a partial scholarship but I just couldn't go there.  My hatred for them was too much.  Couldn't get into u of m law so I ended up in NY where I am now (paid full price but it was worth it).  Glad everything worked out how it did.  it was 2003 that I went to law school as time really flies.

Good summary. Keep in mind…

Good summary. Keep in mind that Don Brown has a pretty good track record against Wisconsin.  Last years's numbers were inflated because of the punt return and MI's Offense failing to do anything.  The year before that the D gave up seven points.  Furbush probably replaces Ross/Gil on quite a few downs.  Mone was made for games like this so he stays on the field in more packages against the run.  Kemp will be back.  I think people still have nightmares about Wisconsin running 28 times in a row against Rich Rod's D.  That was 2010.

Madden 91 was the greatest.  Thurman Thomas for the Bills was so much faster than most other players.

NHL 94.  Can't forget that.  Great graphics and way ahead of its time.

Those were the best sports games of my era.  I played sporadically after that but not so much.  Still enjoy playing the EA Sports games nowadays.

As of right now he is 80% to MI and 20% to GT in total balls  You can probably narrow it down a bit from that.  No need to get your panties in a bunch.

Wow, never any doubt, on the road, Sparty tears are great!

Yeah, seems a formality that

Yeah, seems a formality that he is gone and picking up Welschof late is another sign of that.  Can't fault him though - with the program four years, will graduate in May, and his dream has always been to play in the NFL  Probably a mid-round pick, can really make some money with a good showing at the combine.

The Lions have actually

The Lions have actually played pretty well this year on the road but I try to not bet on my own teams.  The game that jumps out at me is Tampa Bay -1 over Green Bay at Lambeau.  I just can't see Tampa winning that game at Lambeau in December.

Better yet, bring him to the

Better yet, bring him to the Christmas party with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah!

I was only 10 but taped the game and kept watching the VHS of this TD over and over again.  Still have the Sports Illustrated magazine with that cover.

What about spring practice

What about spring practice and all of fall camp?  I think there was sufficient time to prepare for this game.  But yes, great guy, good role model, etc. and a lot of people want to see him replace Mattison here if he were to retire.   Pointing out stats (especially after his debacle last year at Oregon) is not piling on and is newsworthy.

Not true.  Upton is under

Not true.  Upton is under contract through 2021 for $22 Millon a year but he can opt out after this year.  If they would have held onto Martinez and gave him the qualifiying offer they would have only gotten a 3rd or 4th round pick because that pick is now linked to payroll, not the 1st Round or sandwich pick that it used to be.

Yes, and bad things happen at

Yes, and bad things happen at State when you don't have 'home court' advantage.  If you are a State guy like Demetrious Cox you get a littering fine for punching a cabbie and refusing to pay the fare.  But cutting in line and then running from someone who tells you to stop warrants a serious penalty if you go to U of M.  Fuck them.

Congratulations on the birth

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter.  The advice that I haven't seen posted yet is this:  Your wife will be fairly irrational from about the time of birth until about the third of fourth day after.  Realize that and comfort her and try to understand that.  I have a few stories about that with my wife's last birth and we joke about it now, although at the time it really sucked.  Good luck and go blue.  Also, make sure to get some maize and blue in the first picture.

Wow, quite an offseason for

Wow, quite an offseason for Sparty.  Besides McDowell and Nicholson choosing the greener pastures of the draft or free agency, they also lose Likuska, and now their best remaining defensive player, Reschke.  Also rumors about Corley and 3-9 other players who may be leaving the program.

There are some bad contracts

There are some bad contracts but each team has those.   Either way, don't think it will happen as Ilitch would second guess firing an experienced and respected GM after what he did with the Tigers and Dombrowski and how that has worked out so far.

He deserves the benefit of

He deserves the benefit of the doubt for leading a team that makes the playoffs 25 years in a row.  Nobody is satisfied with losing in the First Round but there is a lot more parity in the NHL under the new Salary Cap.  I'd say give him a chance to reload.....some deals haven't worked out for him (Franzen especially) but he still deserves a shot.

The even bigger question is

The even bigger question is why State did not offer this guy.  Apparently they would rather poach a two star recruit from FCS programs than have him.  But then again, they recruit character so maybe they know something.
