Muppets All Alone For Threeeeeeeee
It was as Columbus as it gets, and some breathtaking basketball all the way, as Ohio State’s designs on a championship got slapped down like a top-five John Cooper team.
And you can't have one without the other…
Michigan sits atop Big Ten standings as lonely one of their first-half perimeter shooters.

Screw Ohio State and screw the punk ass Michigan hating officials! Nice try assholes!!! Go Blue!
February 21st, 2021 at 3:25 PM ^
I had to work and couldnt watch...what were the refs doing that everyone seems pissed about?
February 21st, 2021 at 3:31 PM ^
I counted about 5 calls that felt like 50-50 or worse, and Ohio got them all
February 21st, 2021 at 3:33 PM ^
Washington push off 3 was as bad as I have seen all season.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:46 PM ^
That was Michael Jordan/Bryon Russell level of a push off.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:54 PM ^
And then they hit Brooks for a technical for pointing out the error.
February 21st, 2021 at 4:08 PM ^
No technical foul was called. It was an astonishingly bad call, worst of the game. As usual, had to beat Buckeyes and refs too.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:46 PM ^
Especially since they called Eli for two ticky tack calls on Washington. Gotta call it both ways ref!!
February 21st, 2021 at 4:00 PM ^
Don’t forget that out of bounds review that somehow went their way. Unreal.
But the ball don’t lie!
February 21st, 2021 at 4:05 PM ^
My wife said “that’s out on the Ohio St player”, I just laughed and said “yeah, you’re a funny woman, they ain’t gonna call it out on them”.
February 21st, 2021 at 4:25 PM ^
I know very little about bball and even to my untrained eye it was BRUTAL.
Calling the same shit on M that they didn't call on osu
February 21st, 2021 at 3:32 PM ^
Sucking in general. A lotta home cookin'.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:33 PM ^
The refs were about average bad. Not spectacularly bad. Worse than Thursday, but better than they can be. We should just kinda accept this and maybe not complain so much
February 21st, 2021 at 3:48 PM ^
When every “close” call goes one way it’s hard to overlook. How many “and 1’s” did they get today and foul calls that led to direct points (not bonus related)? That’s what I’m referring to. Give Livers some free throws on his drive in the first half, Dickinson an and 1 at the end of the half, take the shove off 3 away from Washington and this game is a little less close and that’s just 3 50/50 calls.
February 21st, 2021 at 4:09 PM ^
I'm sorry dude but we've been crediting the refs for good games all year and this game was atrocious and one-sided even by old refs standards.
February 21st, 2021 at 9:04 PM ^
Seth, the home team gets the calls, is this something you have just discovered? Expect it.
February 21st, 2021 at 9:40 PM ^
This is a hilariously bad take.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:38 PM ^
Inventing charges against us and ignoring their blatant offensive fouls
February 21st, 2021 at 4:21 PM ^
I don’t even get that kind of home cooking in my own kitchen.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:16 PM ^
Huge team dub. Biggest win of Juwan's tenure.
Eliminating the Buckeyes in Columbus in spite of the refs absolutely rules!
February 21st, 2021 at 3:16 PM ^
Michigan treated Ohio State's perimeter defense like it was a Don Brown coverage on a crossing route
February 21st, 2021 at 3:54 PM ^
Too soon.
February 21st, 2021 at 4:23 PM ^
The wild thing is that we made only one 3 in the second half and still dropped 47 points on them.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:16 PM ^
Fuck Ohio State! Go Blue!
February 21st, 2021 at 3:17 PM ^
What a great win! Clutch late in the game with multiple offensive rebounds. This team has a legit shot to hang the NC banner.
go fucking blue!!!
February 21st, 2021 at 3:17 PM ^
Bang me muppets style! I wondered early how 2 players can carry an offense vs this squad for 40 minutes. Washington scored 30 points, id take Eli all day every day!
February 21st, 2021 at 3:58 PM ^
Michigan's versatility and balance was just too much for OSU, which played a great game to be sure. Bodes well if we have to meet them again. Washington had the game of his life to keep it close. They had no answer for Dickinson. Chaundee Brown was an animal.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:17 PM ^
second half perimeter shots were just as open, only they didn't fall. worked out just dandy anway.
hello to the muppets. about time for this team after a month since the last posting.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:17 PM ^
Anyone who says this isn’t a rivalry in basketball too is delusional, these 2 teams wanted this badly but of course the good guys won.
February 21st, 2021 at 4:11 PM ^
A matchup between two top-5 teams is going to do that. Illinois is going to be another battle royale.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:18 PM ^
God I love this team right now. Grit, skill, smart solid play, well-prepped, great coaching.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:18 PM ^
GAME OF THE YEAR
February 21st, 2021 at 3:25 PM ^
Until the next one.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:50 PM ^
I agree. It’s like 51-49 for me with the @ Wisky win with the 23 day layoff and 12 point halftime deficit. Seemed like officiating wasn’t a factor in the Wisky game and against a better opponent like today, that’s why I agree with you——so far.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:18 PM ^
Go Blue. Goodbye, Colonbus.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:21 PM ^
Cooler-pooper-bus. Colonbus? I'll accept this autocorrect.
February 21st, 2021 at 4:02 PM ^
I'm going to go ahead and assume the Michigan Difference and say it's a Philip Roth reference.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:18 PM ^
The original Muppet Show has just arrived on Disney Plus, btw.
What a great performance. BTW Eli Brooks played well and had a couple of crucial moments despite certain trollzen on this site declaring that he was only a mid-major caliber player a couple years ago. Good for him.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:20 PM ^
While the threes didn’t fall in the second half, the rebounding was excellent. Also took care of the ball. Great win.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:36 PM ^
Brown had a run in the second half when the game was in the “danger zone”. Kid plays his heart out.
With Wagner being a little off Brown was awesome!
February 21st, 2021 at 3:44 PM ^
There was that one possession where Brown had like 9 OREBS and got the bucket. That was... significant.
That guy wants it so bad. Brian’s analysis much earlier in the season of how much the transfers desperately want this has really stood the test.
February 21st, 2021 at 4:14 PM ^
Might have been play/possession of the year!
February 21st, 2021 at 5:24 PM ^
Was watching w/ my kid and we both said the same about that Brown oreb oreb oreb posession. Brian's excellent piece on the passion of Brown and Smith proved prescient today. Honestly not sure Eli (who I mistakenly thought was soft the last few years) wasn't our player of the game. I generally have Craig Ross level paranoia about getting screwed by refs; great to see I was right this time based on the "happy vitriol" here!! GO EFFEN BLUE!
February 21st, 2021 at 3:51 PM ^
Eli got fouled numerous times with no call and that was in just like a 5 minute span. Washington went up and put his shoulder through Eli's face and was awarded with an and-1. That should be no-call. Some refs would even call that offensive. Then the blatant push off that resulted in another nice 3 points for Washington. Then on the offensive end someone on Ohio State just knocked him to the deck with no-call and Juwan was pleading with the ref to call something. Luckily that possession ended in a bucket for Michigan, iirc.
Dude is tough and he's one of my favorites. Incredibly important piece of this team.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:55 PM ^
I think you hit the nail on the head. It epitomizes how the officiating went. They got all the and-ones, and all we got was charges and blocks. Very poor officiating.
February 21st, 2021 at 4:05 PM ^
Eli took a hit from a screener that would have made Chris Spielman pround. He was literally knocked off his feet.
February 21st, 2021 at 4:08 PM ^
I bet we lead the nation in chin fouls.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:53 PM ^
Eli got two tough and timely buckets at the end of each half when we really needed them, in addition to all the defensive quarterbacking he did that won’t show up on the stats sheet. It really is amaizeng how some people on the forums enjoy trashing our players for what they aren’t rather then celebrating them for what they are.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:19 PM ^
Amazing game. Even more impressive that we handily won a game of 5 on 6.
February 21st, 2021 at 3:20 PM ^
5 on 8, in fact!
