Former OSU Coach (Zach Smith) Rips Ed Warinner

Totally surprised this guy is doing a podcast now and really shocked how he hammers Ed Warriner and Tom Herman. The fact that this guy continues to put his face in public says everything. Unreal

Any plans for Smith to join the Jax Jaguars staff??
January 26th, 2021 at 10:13 AM ^
He's going to lead scout for FL based in Tampa. Leasing spot near Mons Venus.
January 26th, 2021 at 12:58 PM ^
I miss the Mons, that place used to be world class. I’m sure it’s gone downhill, like everything else.
January 26th, 2021 at 1:12 PM ^
Fun Fact: First time I ever went to Mons I walked in and the first girl on stage had a piece of toilet paper stuck in her ass.
January 26th, 2021 at 1:29 PM ^
Meh, the rules in Tampa stink.
If they serve beer (only) then you get nipple Band Aids. Irrespective of that. the talent at Mons was always no more than an assortment of meth-addicted 5's.
You wanna see world class? Pure Platinum in Honolulu.

Smith does have experience with certain equipment. Depends on whether the Jags need any ball lifting equipment.
January 26th, 2021 at 9:07 AM ^
This is the kind of thing Americans will devour voraciously. The bigger the trainwreck, the bigger the ratings. He'll likely get a late night talk show on HBO eventually.
January 26th, 2021 at 9:38 AM ^
I'm more curious as to why he is shocked by Zach Smith is ripping Warriner and Herman. If you have spent any time on this blog you have seen the vitriol that Smith spewed about both of those guys when he and his ex wife were have a very public fight.
January 26th, 2021 at 9:56 AM ^
I thought there were strong rumors back in this saga that Warriner’s wife (and/or Warriner himself) were instrumental in outing the info about Smith’s domestic violence issues.
If so it makes sense that the bitter S.O.B. Would take any chance to rant against him.
Given the current situation it is in our best interests to hope Warriner was overrated and that his weakness in recruiting (something most OSU fans agree on) was actually true and under Moore we will land more of the top tier OL that have been leaving Michigan.
January 26th, 2021 at 10:52 AM ^
If true, that speaks highly to Warriner's integrity, unless you have a mobster mentality (anti-snitch).
January 26th, 2021 at 11:10 AM ^
Integrity? If true, he didn't say anything until after he was fired and left OSU.
January 26th, 2021 at 12:08 PM ^
I'm not disputing your assessment, but someone has to explain why Warriner should be considered a "weak" recruiter (besides just coming from osu fans). In the 3 years he was here, his classes were 2019 (Keegan, Carpenter, Barnhart, Stewart, Jones, Rumler), 2020 (Persi, Atteberry, Zinter), 2021 (Bounds, Anderson, Crippen, el-Hadi). It's not unreasonable to believe that, in a few years, those 3 years might out-perform the previous decade, combined. I don't know for which ones he was the main recruiter, but as an analyst/OL coach, he certainly deserves much credit. Besides, nearly every one of those recruits mentioned Warriner has being a deciding factor. Add in the fact, that, not only did he put 4 OL into the NFL this past year, but 3 of them played as rookies. We know about Onwenu (who got the majority of his PT as a TACKLE, that tells you how prepared he was) and Ruiz, but Runyan got PT early in the year due to injuries. If Warriner is/has been over-rated, I'll sign up for that.

Cool. Hook em
January 26th, 2021 at 9:08 AM ^
For those of us that can't watch videos at work, how about a synopsis of what he said?
January 26th, 2021 at 9:11 AM ^
He said that Ed Warinner is a horrible coach who personally ruined the 2015 OSU offense. He also stated that Warinner told a player his Mother should have aborted him. It was pretty bad but consider the source as well. Watch when you get home
January 26th, 2021 at 9:57 AM ^
Thanks for the quick synopsis - it's very helpful.
But this doesn't seem to be groundbreaking news. We knew that he was promoted above his competence as OC, which is why he was fired. The abortion line is pretty harsh and no doubt uncalled for - as a leader, he shouldn't have said it (if he actually did, we can't necessarily believe anything from Zach Smith). But there's also a part of me that fondly remembers my more youthful days in the Navy. No doubt somebody told me, at some point, that I was a failed abortion. Whatever, I probably mentioned that if it had been successful, his mother would have missed me.
Gah! I miss that give and take back in the day...
January 26th, 2021 at 10:54 AM ^
Why even pretend that anything Zach Smith says is true? This guy is one of the bigger scumbags on the planet, and desperate too.
January 26th, 2021 at 10:56 AM ^
I remember these times as well (time, not in the Navy). It could be said that we are seeing a really big decline in societal interaction due in part by technology, and the new generations inability to produce a clever comeback. However, some people are flight people and lack the impulse to face confrontation. Therefore the problem persists, whereas the fight population handle it and move on. And no this is not meant to be political in any way, I'm speaking more in terms of human interaction.
January 26th, 2021 at 10:00 AM ^
I mean, who was the player? /s
January 26th, 2021 at 11:55 AM ^
He said Ed Warinner was abducted by aliens and genetically modified so that he spoke exclusively in Torak, which he expected everyone else to learn. Apparently Warinner demanded that Grad assistants wheel him on and off the field in a guided wheelbarrow as they showered him in rose petals and fawning praise.
Smith said, Ed's alien body could only be sustained by drinking purple G2 Gatorade and if an anyone brought him anything else, he would have a hulk like transformation. His hands would turn into iron bricks and he'd tear the limbs off the poor grad assists who made the mistake. Ed would then make the poor fellow eat his own severed appendage. One assistant looked like the black knight.
Part of the reason this specific type of Gatorade was needed was because Ed could regurgitate it into a blinding toxic bile, that he would spit into the eyes of his Olineman if they didn't kneel before him in Gorean Slave poses.
Smith also mentioned something about how he, Janet Reno and an iguana had a 3-way.
At least that is what I got out of it but maybe I looked too deeply between the lines.

I can only assume his podcast is sponsored by a sex shop.

The Rocky movies ended at IV. No one can convince me otherwise.

Wait, Zach Smith has a podcast?
Is it called "Being A Shit Human Being - The Zach Smith Method"?
January 26th, 2021 at 9:50 AM ^
I know, right? It's hard to believe there would be a market among OSU fans for such a piece of trash human being
January 26th, 2021 at 10:20 AM ^
This is exactly what I think about when I imagine an average OSU fan.
January 26th, 2021 at 10:26 AM ^
....and this potentially hot, but nasty....
January 26th, 2021 at 11:16 AM ^
Gotta be honest, she's hot as hell and I don't care what shirt she's wearing. She could have a MSU bra on under that, be wearing ND shorts and a PSU hat.

I wonder where those guys were on January 6th? A strong visual overlap.
January 26th, 2021 at 11:08 PM ^
You do know that the mother of the alleged victim says her daughter is lying and Zach never hit her daughter. The mother says that her daughter needs mental help and actually attacked Zach. Pictures of her injuries resulted from her attacking him.
She also said that her ex husband knows it is true, but will not say anything because he did not want to ruin his relationship with his daughter. His response: said nothing, no denial.
But go ahead and blame Zach and Urban. You are as smart as people who do not understand that cold footballs have lower pressure.
January 26th, 2021 at 9:16 AM ^
He's just pissed because Warriner threw a giant dildo at him in practice that one time
January 26th, 2021 at 9:42 AM ^
Or put itching powder in his ball lifter...
January 26th, 2021 at 1:50 PM ^
What is this ball lifter you speak of?
January 26th, 2021 at 9:19 AM ^
Well, he was a great coach in his own right. Naturally, his criticisms of less accomplished coaches should be taken as gospel.
January 26th, 2021 at 9:19 AM ^
Maaaaaan, don't give him views.
January 26th, 2021 at 9:19 AM ^
If true, his points would be concerning as he makes Warriner out to be an overrated prick. And Smith did raise some valid concerns about Harbaugh having been at the helm presiding over pretty massive turnover in coaches and styles of play.
It does seem players don't seem to be very motivated to play under Harbaugh & Co. I'm all for the youth movement -- what do we have to lose?
Personally, I think it's too late and a year from now Harbaugh will have been flushed. It seems as though Manuel may be the team CEO at this point.
January 26th, 2021 at 9:29 AM ^
I cannot imagine from Harbaugh's efforts to create rules to benefit players from recruiting to transfer, etc. that he is a non-player's coach. That seems ridiculous. However, Zordich had a bit of murmuring that he was kind of a dick as a motivation tactic that sometimes failed. If Warriner was awful to play for (some feel Carpenter said as much) then maybe the culture issues we were led by some to believe existed will be better with younger coaches who can connect and coach from a non-old school style. At least that is what I am hoping.
January 26th, 2021 at 9:41 AM ^
Statistically speaking, Smith raised some valid points about the Oline rankings in run and pass protection. I have always wondered why the results weren't better from a coach that everyone kept saying was so good and valuable to the Oline's success.
January 26th, 2021 at 8:48 PM ^
I agree with the points except your last. How long Harbaugh stays is clearly "up to Jim", so he's safe at Michigan unless a disastrous season (like 3-9) happens. With the recruiting-focused youth movement, he's setting this up, in a sense, as a rebuild. So he's around for bit, unless the NFL comes calling, and it doesn't seem like that will happen.
January 26th, 2021 at 9:27 AM ^
Let's always refer to Zach Smith not by name, but by his description: The Guy That Urban Meyer and His Wife Tried to Secretly Defend.
