OT: RIP Chadwick Boseman
Chadwick Boseman, best known for playing T'Challa/Black Panther in the MCU, has passed away. Apparently, he had been fighting colon cancer for the last four years. He was 43. Cancer, and 2020, can both go get bent.
August 28th, 2020 at 10:35 PM ^
Ack, Chadwick. Sorry for the typo in the post title.
August 29th, 2020 at 2:34 PM ^
In a rush to post, eh?!
August 29th, 2020 at 8:17 PM ^
I'll be glad to fix your title typo, bassclefstef. Would have earlier if it hadn't been for a 20-hour power outage in my area, couldn't even get a cell tower signal until midday today.
August 29th, 2020 at 11:06 PM ^
Thanks! Don't sweat the delay.
August 28th, 2020 at 10:35 PM ^
Just an awful year. RIP.
August 28th, 2020 at 11:47 PM ^
Yes it is. Just go away already 2020!
August 29th, 2020 at 12:06 AM ^
So OT. I know that we have little to discuss nowadays and sorry to learn of someone's death, but -yawn- Never heard of the guy.
August 29th, 2020 at 12:15 AM ^
He played Black Panther, Thurgood Marshall, James Brown, and Jackie Robinson. His death is all over the news right now, he meant a lot to a lot of people. It's not like he was some unknown character actor.
...but even if he was, get bent man. What an unnecessary, stupid, look at me, dumbass comment you felt you just haaaaaad to type out.
August 29th, 2020 at 12:16 AM ^
You know the best way to prove your 'cool guy' indifference?
Hitting that Reply button.
Also, bonus points for typing out the word "yawn". Just in case someone without their frontal lobe wanted to pick up what you're layin' down.
August 29th, 2020 at 12:17 AM ^
Why even comment if you feel that way? Just move along. Thanks for letting us know you don’t give a shit.
RIP Chadwick. Far too young.

A lot of attention whores have been on lockdown for 6 months. It has to be hard for them these days.
August 29th, 2020 at 2:18 AM ^
What a B!#$H statement....why even post?
August 29th, 2020 at 6:29 AM ^
I wish you’d change your handle ?
August 29th, 2020 at 1:27 PM ^
No.....But thanks for asking.
August 29th, 2020 at 3:37 AM ^
Jesus. If you don’t know one of the most prominent black actors, I wonder who you do know.
August 30th, 2020 at 6:57 PM ^
One of the most prominent actors. He was great.
August 29th, 2020 at 5:52 AM ^
Way to be a cocksucker. If you have never heard of him, then stfu and keep it moving. Fuck you from AA to Tokyo. Eat a dick.
August 30th, 2020 at 1:52 PM ^
Dude, try to be better than those you're chastising. Slurs are uncalled for.
August 29th, 2020 at 9:37 AM ^
If you don’t know who he is I have to question who you do know. He is one of the highest profile, most bankable actors in Hollywood. Quickly becoming as high profile as Denzel, if he wasn’t there already.
Either way, what an absolutely tone-deaf chicken shit statement. Even if he was a nobody, that’s still someone’s son. He’s got a family. But don’t worry, when you die I’m sure there will be plenty of people who just shrug their shoulders and say “meh, never heard of him” either.
August 29th, 2020 at 5:36 PM ^
Made a good flick called 21 Bridges last year. He made many films while undergoing chemo.
August 29th, 2020 at 11:03 AM ^
Just because you are an ignorant fool does not mean others are.
He also played Jackie Robinson, which I suppose that is too dark of a story for you.
August 29th, 2020 at 11:11 AM ^
MGOTokyo,
Fuck. YOU.
August 29th, 2020 at 1:42 PM ^
ok boomer
August 30th, 2020 at 7:00 PM ^
Please. We boomers are not all douchebags. Just...stop.
August 29th, 2020 at 5:57 PM ^
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there will be people who feel exactly the same when they find out you didn't wake up one day.
August 28th, 2020 at 10:41 PM ^
RIP... excellent as King T'Challa in Black Panther.
Too young.
August 29th, 2020 at 9:51 AM ^
Also did a solid performance in "Get on Up".
August 28th, 2020 at 10:42 PM ^
Sad to hear it. He was a great actor.
August 28th, 2020 at 10:43 PM ^
Truly horrible news. Much too young. RIP Chadwick
August 28th, 2020 at 10:45 PM ^
This is a shock. Very sad.

One of my most-watched SNL skits of all time.
Aw hell naw, Karen.
August 28th, 2020 at 11:09 PM ^
Thank you for that, I needed that laugh. By all accounts was not only hitting his stride as an actor, but as a positive community member as well. Cancer, COVID, and 2020 can go on screw itself.
August 28th, 2020 at 11:49 PM ^
I LOVED this skit on SNL...I too go back and watch it all the time.
The way he said raisins, lol.
August 29th, 2020 at 12:02 AM ^
I've now seen that skit probably 20 times, never picked up on the cop joke about Wakanda.
It's been interesting to see some people just now begin to understand the relationship between the black community and the police.
I'm trying to figure out what they thought about all these jokes, the TV shows, the rap songs. How could anyone not know?
Anyway, let's not make this thread about that. Just found that interesting.

"Our ministers of law enforcement are only here to protect us. Is this correct?"
"I mean... it SHOULD be."
August 28th, 2020 at 10:56 PM ^
He starred in the best film of 2018, his character was the glue that made the rest of a brilliant cast shine, and was a beacon of hope for Black actors and other film making professionals. The world is a better place for his having graced us with his too short life. Maybe we should be getting colonoscopies at age 30, eh?
August 28th, 2020 at 10:58 PM ^
Wow, I didn’t even know he was sick. You certainly wouldn’t have known he was based on his physique, as he sure looked like he kept himself in shape.
I didn’t know much about him until 42 came out a few years back, and he was great in that movie. He had some serious acting skills, and got the chance to have a lot of roles portraying very powerful African American figures. Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall, James Brown, not to mention Black Panther.
Hope his family can find some peace in all of this. 2020 can continue to go suck a bag of dicks.
August 28th, 2020 at 11:08 PM ^
If he was diagnosed in 2016, then he would have been in treatment while he was filming Black Panther.
August 29th, 2020 at 1:47 PM ^
That's part why this so shocking. He was a later comer to acting fame and basically became famous at about time he was diagnosed with cancer. I think a lot of people also assumed he was younger than he actually was
August 29th, 2020 at 9:14 PM ^
I definitely did. When the news of his death hit and I found out he was 43 I was pretty surprised. I thought he was at least 10 years younger than that.
August 28th, 2020 at 10:58 PM ^
Played Jackie Robinson in "42" and died on Jackie Robinson Day.
August 28th, 2020 at 11:03 PM ^
Man, this year sucks. R.I.P.
August 28th, 2020 at 11:06 PM ^
Wow... just wow. This is incredibly sad, even moreso that he kept his illness a secret for four years. Immensely brave.
Fuck 2020 & Fuck cancer!
August 28th, 2020 at 11:06 PM ^
Fuck cancer. Rest In Peace.
The guy made 3 of the biggest movies of all time (and more) while going through chemotherapy. What an amazing man.
August 28th, 2020 at 11:27 PM ^
That's an incredible feat! I can't imagine filming movies undergoing the treatments for that fucking disease.
August 28th, 2020 at 11:57 PM ^
Not for nothing think of how jacked he was for Black Panther. Think of how hard that must have been given the circumstances.
