Desmond Howard will not sign your Heisman pose photos
Well Desmond is doing a rare autograph signing next month but has some oddly specific demands....
I know the photographer tried to sue him for the rights to the photo but Desmond won the lawsuit and is the sole owner of the Heisman pose photo. Also he won’t do more than a few words for an inscription.

Get him to sign a piece of laminate and then laminate the photo after?

Username does NOT check out, you evil genius

I don't know, some of the most crafty bastards I know are hillbillies.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:05 AM ^
As evidenced by the quality of the homemade hooch they produce.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:35 AM ^
exactly - plus aren't there some meth labs in them thar hills? that seems all chemistry like too

You'd be surprised how smart some hillbillies are. I mean they can't read, or write. But they can build just about anything out of scrap metal, and duct tape.
December 3rd, 2019 at 12:36 PM ^
Who needs scrap metal?
December 3rd, 2019 at 1:37 PM ^
Well if you don't want your rockets fuel tanks to lose pressure, or your nozzle to burn up before lift off you are probably going to need some kind of metal.
December 3rd, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
Would need copper to make a proper still. Would probably source them from pre-1982 pennies.

Raid Grandma's retirement?
December 4th, 2019 at 9:00 AM ^
Lol, my mamaw had a big ass vase full of change. You aren't far from the truth.
December 6th, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
I'm no hillbilly, But I do have hillbilly friends.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:44 AM ^
But why?
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:46 AM ^
The answer to why is nearly always: lawyers are involved. It is likely a copyright thing with financial implications.
December 3rd, 2019 at 11:36 AM ^
Lawyers ruin everything
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:45 AM ^
THE Heisman pose. Now Desmond earned the the - Unlike those bozos in Columbus.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:45 AM ^
How about if I photoshop myself into the Heisman Pose? Will he sign it, 'great run, my man and inspiration for all that I've accomplished in my life'? How much for that?
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:47 AM ^
This was my reading of the thread title as well. I do not have a photo of myself doing the Heisman pose, but if I did, I think I would want Desmond Howard to sign it.
December 3rd, 2019 at 11:08 AM ^
Oddly enough, I actually have a picture of me striking the Heisman pose with the 1951 winner, Richard Kazmaier. Think Des would sign it??

the second guy from the left needs to work a little harder. cumong, man, at least pretend you have a ball in the crook of your left arm.
kazmaier gets a pass, though.
December 3rd, 2019 at 12:16 PM ^
Not sure if that's the Heisman Pose, or trying to give a kid an 'Air-5'
December 3rd, 2019 at 12:54 PM ^
Awesome pic! By the thread title alone, Desmond would definitely not sign your picture. However, with a further reading of the legal disclaimer, it is very possible that he could sign it after all!
if I had this picture, I know where I would be on January 18...
December 3rd, 2019 at 3:00 PM ^
My wife's uncle (kind of the family patriarch) worked with Dick Kazmaier for decades in the sporting goods industry. Kazmaier was quite the guy, from all I hear (RIP).
Great read on him in his NYT Obit:
Especially enjoyable to me was the Time magazine quote (presumably from his 1951 season when he not only won the Heisman and the Maxwell and the Walter Camp ... he won the freaking AP Athlete of the Year):
[Kazmaier was] "a refreshing reminder, in the somewhat fetid atmosphere that has gathered around the pseudo amateurs of U.S. sports, that winning football is not the monopoly of huge hired hands taking snap courses at football foundries."

I went to one of these years ago and got a signed copy of the catch against Notre Dame. Just do that, not a big deal.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:47 AM ^
I don't get autographs... because I'm not 12
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:54 AM ^
hahaha!
But do you wear a jersey with a grown ass man's name on the back?!
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:25 AM ^
I'm not an OSU fan
December 3rd, 2019 at 11:50 AM ^
Jerseys with names on the back are fine so long as the person is not younger than you.
December 3rd, 2019 at 12:17 PM ^
December 3rd, 2019 at 12:53 PM ^
I think wearing a jersey is only acceptable at a game or if you're going to a party to watch sports. I find sports fans who consider a jersey to be a regular shirt to be weird. They are usually the same type who think that wearing an OSU polo is "dressing up."
Needless to say, I don't wear jerseys or go to autograph signings. As much as I love football and basketball, I find the deification of athletes and teams to be creepy. Desmond Howard is cool and all, but briefly meeting him and receiving some artifact that is blessed with his handwriting isn't a productive use of my time.
December 3rd, 2019 at 3:10 PM ^
What if we, hear me out.... let people fucking do what they want
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:59 AM ^
These guys are getting paid at these signings. That’s the only time I get things signed.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:02 AM ^
Those are sweet WD - EYB can and will mock you, but those are probably treasures for a diehard fan like you. Well worth the money in your opinion, which is the only one that matters with hobbies. Enjoy and go blue!
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:24 AM ^
I think I've repeatedly made it clear that I like WD a lot and tbh he's one of my top 5 favorite users here. I'm allowed to tease, afaik. Think of it as giving your little cousin a noogie when you see him at Thanksgiving.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:27 AM ^
? Little Cousin noogie - I am on your wavelength now
December 3rd, 2019 at 11:58 AM ^
We should retire Paul Bunyan and award ourselves a "Little Cousin Noogie" trophy next year.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:14 AM ^
I just burst into laughter seeing that Matthews signed his name on Nick Ward's body. That's savage!! (do the kids still say that?)
Also, lol at Moe X-ing out the Sparty logo.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:16 AM ^
Wow, you REALLY hate MSU.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:24 AM ^
They're the only rival we have good photos of these days...
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:58 AM ^
Would’ve got this signed too but it was a one item limit per person and my girlfriend got the Final Four pennant signed.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:55 AM ^
Well, they’re our arch rival in Basketball and you know the story about Football and osu. I’m not hanging photos of a game we lost. Can’t wait for the Khaleke signing:
December 3rd, 2019 at 1:29 PM ^
What about Devin Bush tearing up the Sparty helmet?
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:39 AM ^
Excellent.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:40 AM ^
I think the Chase one is pretty cool. Especially because of the signed score and his face in the picture.
December 3rd, 2019 at 11:18 AM ^
You pick the photos well WD.
December 3rd, 2019 at 5:17 PM ^
Now you need to get Nick Ward to sign both of those.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:43 AM ^
I've never understood the level of jock-sniffing hero worship that's required to stand in line for an hour just so some athlete who wouldn't be able to pick you out of a police lineup signs a photo of himself and then takes a wad of your cash in the process.
December 3rd, 2019 at 11:12 AM ^
Congrats on being such an amazing American.
