rumors on rivals/247 he took money from an agent and is done for the season. Kyle Lamb confirms bad news. Will be interesting to see what it turns into today

Uh oh...
November 8th, 2019 at 6:25 AM ^
This dude is full of shit. Our only hope that him or Fields doesn't play against us is they get injured. That is only reason to watch their next three games.
November 8th, 2019 at 7:21 AM ^
Get injured? We knocked JT Barrett out of two games and lost to the back up twice.
Win the game.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:57 AM ^
OSU qb depth this year is different than previous years. If we can knock Fields out of the game this year we might actually benefit from it.
November 8th, 2019 at 2:10 PM ^
PRAY FOR MARYLAND AND INDIANA lol.
Maryland over OSU.
Indiana and OSU over Pedo State.
We murder OSU in The Game. (I would rather humiliate Fields than injure him, fwiw)
Then we win the B1G and get either CFP or Rose Bowl.
Please, please, please, please. For once, let us has the nice things!!!!
November 8th, 2019 at 8:13 AM ^
they don’t sound too confident that this is nothing over there. I also agree with the main sentiment, stupid and selfish if true.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:21 AM ^
Yes, all of the most recent stuff--in the last hour, including from cbs sports--seems to be leaning further toward it being a big deal, and mentioning indefinite suspension.
If he took money, in my view, it's absurd to say there's nothing wrong with that because others do it. You're taking money--advantage--when others who continue to abide by the rules cannot. And you know the rules, have undoubtedly even signed forms promising to follow them. Manipulating public opinion could be part of the plan post facto; that doesn't somehow make it ethical.
If he's done I'd say that improves our odds considerably. He's one of two guys they cannot afford to lose.
November 8th, 2019 at 8:54 AM ^
At the risk of sounding overly righteous, if "our only hope" is college kids getting injured, then I hope we lose.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:29 AM ^
Have you ever watched OSU football at all? If the starter gets injured, the backup comes in and is even better than the starter himself.
That's how OSU won a national championship, and its also how they beat us in 2017. A strong argument could be made that if Barrett never gets hurt in 2017, Michigan eeks out a win.
November 8th, 2019 at 11:30 AM ^
so we are actively rooting for players to get injured now? we are so fucking classy. I will never in my life understand how anyone could ROOT for a player to be injured.
November 8th, 2019 at 6:40 AM ^
Big, if true.
November 8th, 2019 at 8:18 AM ^
True, if big.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:39 AM ^
If, true big.

Cant edit but this is a tweet today from Shaun Wade's dad confirming to Michael Thomas that "Agents are the Devil" Cat is outta the bag, Chase got paid.
November 8th, 2019 at 8:20 AM ^
My big question, will they have to forfeit the games they've won this year?
November 8th, 2019 at 10:08 AM ^
Not if they reported it when they found out. Not much reason to report in November if you’ve covered it up this long.
November 8th, 2019 at 10:02 AM ^
Couldn't Chase have just said NO! I guess since consequences for cheating at OSU are little to none he figured why not. What did they get last time even though their head coach lied to the NCAA one scholarship and a one year bowl ban. Then they were compensated by the NCAA who allowed Urban to go out on the recruiting trail while Fickell coached the team in the bowl.
November 8th, 2019 at 8:30 AM ^
What's with the optimism around their camp that he will be able to return this season? If he's taken money from an agent I would think that would prevent him seeing a collegiate football field again...
November 8th, 2019 at 8:32 AM ^
Ball lifters have a way of lifting your outlook on things.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:58 AM ^
It happened in 2018 so that was on that POS Urbans watch. Add the storage room full of porn gadgets, Zach Smith and now this, no wonder he bailed. The jig was up.
November 8th, 2019 at 8:55 AM ^
When you get away with as much shit as they get away with, you always think you'll get away with it again. And when you finally get caught, it's SOP to blame the world for screwing you.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:05 AM ^
He can pay it back and get a lesser suspension. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened.
November 8th, 2019 at 5:50 PM ^
How do you borrow money from a family friend and get caught?
November 8th, 2019 at 5:48 AM ^
That would just be so disappointing...
November 8th, 2019 at 6:10 AM ^
Honestly, I'd be happy if he were done for the year.
November 8th, 2019 at 6:15 AM ^
Fields too.
November 8th, 2019 at 8:21 AM ^
So we can maybe beat a depleted OSU team and have the whole country say the win doesn't mean shit and continue the can't win the big game narrative. I will pass on that.
November 8th, 2019 at 8:27 AM ^
No one will say that except for OSU and MSU fans. Do you really give a shit what any of them think?
November 8th, 2019 at 8:47 AM ^
You are crazy if you think they will be the only ones saying that.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:11 AM ^
Okay, they will and negative fans like you will too. That better?
November 8th, 2019 at 10:49 AM ^
Whatever.
It is bitch-made to hope an opponent will be decimated so that you can beat them.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:39 AM ^
it really doesn't matter what people say. As if we have not had to face OSU with backup and injured QBs? And signficant ref assistance? Did that somehow de-legitimize their wins?
November 8th, 2019 at 9:01 AM ^
If Bush wasn't hurt and Gary et al played in the bowl game, we'd have won. Do you hear anyone talking about our bowl loss as a, "well if?"
No, talk is cheap, win the game.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:34 AM ^
Yep, also don't hear the 2017 OSU win is tainted because Michigan had to play JOK.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:23 AM ^
If they are depleted because they got caught cheating, that’s on them.
November 8th, 2019 at 9:34 AM ^
Every time we win a "Big Game". they say it isn't a big game. Who gives a fuck about what dickheads like Finebaum think. You win the game against the team you play.
Funny though that OSU doesn't get the same disrespect after they beat us when we have no QB to go against them.
Let me guess, you were one of the people that wanted Maryland to lose to OSU last year.
November 8th, 2019 at 12:06 PM ^
The down-votes confirm that nobody shares your view, but I feel compelled to chime in with this: I'll take a W over an injured team over a L to a healthy team. Every. single. time.
November 8th, 2019 at 5:48 AM ^
How exactly did he "confirm bad news" with that tweet?
November 8th, 2019 at 5:50 AM ^
I don't believe it. The members of the institution in Columbus are a high character group and wouldn't do anything that would compromise the integrity of their program.

Thanks, I needed that belly laugh!
November 8th, 2019 at 6:17 AM ^
/s not necessary
November 8th, 2019 at 10:57 AM ^
True. Great sarcasm doesn't the "/s" and that was some great sarcasm.
November 8th, 2019 at 5:52 AM ^
If true, it sounds like he went the route of Nick Bosa.....seemed to work out pretty well for him. Welcome to the new college football.
November 8th, 2019 at 5:55 AM ^
And they did pretty well against us without Bosa.
November 8th, 2019 at 7:21 AM ^
Bosa got hurt in week two and decided to sit out.
Young allegedly took illicit money from an agent at an unknown date with the intention of playing the entire season.
Completely different here.
November 8th, 2019 at 4:28 PM ^
Becoming more evident that it happened under Urban's watch. . . .
November 8th, 2019 at 7:49 AM ^
While I think situations like this will pop up on all of the top tier teams, this is a part of running an elite team I wondered if Day would be able to handle at OSU. Having a team full of guys headed for the top half of the draft, managing all the egos, having too many guys come to your school just to "get theirs"... obviously Saban has a solid history of keeping things together during the season and Dabo is going to have a challenge in a few years with the insane class he's put together this year.
I know there are a lot of people here that think CFB is all about recruiting the best "Jimmys and Joes" on your team. Getting all these guys to come to your school is only half the battle. There is something to be said about the ability of the coaches with top end talent to get a team of mercenaries up to play less talented competition week in and week out, get players from the south to care about a rivalry that meant nothing to them growing up 1000+ miles away (ex. Michigan) etc - Meyer certainly had "it" but yet to be seen if Day does as well.
November 8th, 2019 at 8:07 AM ^
Actually, I think this is going on everywhere at a big level which is why they passed the new regulations. Anyone that thinks CF is an amateur sport anymore is just kidding themselves. Don't think it's the reflection on a school as much as on individual stars trying to cash in early with agents (the real problem). Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out. They obviously have to declare Young ineligible but I guess the real question is how do institutions monitor and stop kids taking money when they think they won't get caught and no one is looking. Gotta believe this is running rampant right now throughout CF.
November 8th, 2019 at 8:58 AM ^
Bosa obviously got a pretty hurtful injury that forced him out for nearly all the season anyway, so he just cut bait.
But... Bosa has been great in the NFL. He’s rich.
Suppose Young decided to make a business decision here. OSU is in the national title hunt and he’s a Heisman candidate. If he quit now it would be hugely controversial and might make NFL teams question his competitiveness in a way that they wouldn’t if it were an injury or major hardware wasn’t on the table. And he would be reviled by fans.
But... suppose he wanted to back out and avoid that. So his team arranges to have word leak out of an impermissible financial arrangement that has already occurred. An arrangement that isn’t legal yet but is about to become so, thus absolving him of moral embarrassment. An arrangement that prevents him from playing and risking injury in the unseasonably cold weather anticipated for the rest of the season.
I’m not saying that’s what has happened. But it wouldn’t surprise me, either.
