Hassan Haskins - Next Man Up?
When he joined the 2018 recruiting class, I thought that Hassan Haskins could be a good player for the Wolverines. He was extremely productive in high school, but he was hurt by running a 4.7 40 at some camp. However, he did have a good 100m dash, and high jump as a track athlete. It's possible that he was simply not good at coming out of the blocks.
His high school tape shows a natural runner with good vision, and good lateral quickness. Apparently, the coaches saw the same thing. Coach Gattis spoke highly of him during fall camp, as well. However, after missing a block, which led to a sack versus MTSU, Haskins didn't get back in the game until garbage time, and he didn't see the field against Army. But, at 6'1" 220 lbs, Hassan Haskins can pick up some of the slack from the Charbonnet injury. He's a big back like Charbonnet, and he does run with some power.
I know that Pass Pro is integral to getting on and staying on the field, but if the young man can really run the ball, the coaching staff may have to roll the dice and give him the chance to be the Thunder to Turner's Lightning. I thought that it was a mistake to not trust Turner more after his missed block versus Army, and I think it'd be a mistake to have a quick hook for Haskins this weekend. They recruited him because he was a quality, productive running back. Let's see him get a chance to prove them right or wrong. Here's his high school tape for viewing.

I thought he was 4th string? If it’s true about ZC (isn’t this just speculation?) then Turner would be up. Maybe we’ll just pass a ton and it won’t matter.
September 18th, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
Charbonnet is going to play.
September 18th, 2019 at 9:30 PM ^
And what sources do you have?
September 18th, 2019 at 9:32 PM ^
Edit Ok guys calm down
September 18th, 2019 at 9:35 PM ^
*A guy who has been banned from multiple OSU sites for posting fake news says he's gonna be out 3-6 weeks with a knee injury.
Or James Yoder. Or Gregggggggggg Henson.
You'll find out Saturday.
September 18th, 2019 at 9:48 PM ^
It seems Mark Charbonnet, his dad, tweeted something about his fiancés son dislocating his knee. Maybe that's where the rumor came from
Mark just clarified on twitter that he wasn't talking about Zach. So I think that's a good sign. What are the odds his fiancés son and his own son Zach injure their knees on the same day! LOL
The bad feeling is going away a little bit. Seems like a false alarm
September 18th, 2019 at 10:01 PM ^
Can you post that tweet, preferably in its own (new) thread? Maybe, hopefully, that will end these shit rumors!
Hopefully this is it, and this whole scenario can be retired to a good life as a top notch troll...
September 18th, 2019 at 10:10 PM ^
Fucking hilarious... if this is what turned our fanbase, once again, on end.
Not hilarious for the Charbonnet family though. Good luck Charbonnet fam!
Go Blue!
September 18th, 2019 at 10:36 PM ^
And his plumbing backed up? I be like dang!
September 19th, 2019 at 12:11 AM ^
The Charbonett's plumbing is backed up? Does that mean Zach has colitis too? Holy shit (or inability to do so), now we're going to lose all the games. I blame Ambry Thomas for this!
September 18th, 2019 at 10:56 PM ^
Fuck, Mark. That’s one hell of a day
September 19th, 2019 at 12:04 AM ^
Next thing you know his pets heads are gonna be falling off
September 18th, 2019 at 10:35 PM ^
his dad, tweeted something about his fiancés son dislocating his knee.
Ahem, a man engaged to be married is a fiancé. A woman engaged is a fiancée.

Oui oui monsieur!
September 19th, 2019 at 2:22 PM ^
It’s like those French have a different word for everything!
September 19th, 2019 at 8:10 AM ^
It's absurd to me that a man named CHARBONNET says that his FIANCEE'S SON hurt his knee, and people automatically assume the FIANCEE'S SON has a last name of CHARBONNET.

If you're wrong you have to eat a page out of your Super Guide
September 18th, 2019 at 10:01 PM ^
I mean I hope you're right but even sam Webb hasn't denied it. Nobody with credibility has denied it so where there's smoke there's fire?
September 18th, 2019 at 10:04 PM ^
Find a place where someone has denied injury rumors. If insiders denied this then they would have to comment on EVERY rumor or the next time there was one their silence would be assumed as confirmation.
September 18th, 2019 at 10:37 PM ^
Woverine Devotee just did.
I kid.

Bold statement

Come on man, don't get my hopes up after I already jumped in the BPONE
September 18th, 2019 at 9:30 PM ^
Turner, Wilson, BVS.
That's if ZC isn't going.
September 19th, 2019 at 12:36 PM ^
BVS isn't a RB and I don't recall him playing the position in the two HS games I saw him play. Is it the fumble, missed blocks, or the fact a 240 lb. RB tried to run away from MTSU's 200 lb. safety instead of running through him that makes you think he is? He could run away from people in HS because he played in a really weak league. There is a reason BVS and Haskins were moved to D last season and I'm not sure they would have been moved back if we would have had more then two healthy scholarship backs for spring ball. Personally, I would rather have Mason back to his old weight as we at least have seen him play the position at this level instead of being wasted as an undersized, extremely inexperienced DT.
September 20th, 2019 at 10:46 AM ^
What a foolish comment BVS played wide receiver in high school, so that makes him slow! Ooh he’s white so that makes him slow, I guarantee he’s faster then Tru Wilson without a doubt. The kid fumbled one time and now he’s trash. (Shea fumble much lately) Let’s not talk about missed blocks unless we want to talk about a lot more players. The RB position is a concern without a doubt, I feel that all five RB can contribute if the offense isn’t simply trying to run them into a wall.
Every young player tries to outrun the defense to the sideline, should I start naming names they are numerous.
September 18th, 2019 at 9:34 PM ^
Even if he had his knee scoped you can play right away a lot of times. It's not a giant ordeal. The most painful memory I have of this is ole Maurice Clarett against Michigan 2002.

September 18th, 2019 at 10:00 PM ^
That may have been my least favorite OSU game of all time.
September 18th, 2019 at 10:06 PM ^
It was painful, it was like watching a slow car crash happen and you couldn't stop it. That or the 2006 game or the 2016 game.
September 18th, 2019 at 10:13 PM ^
06 was the most painful for me. I sobbed like a little girl. Mrs. Hatter thought I had completely lost my mind.
Bo's death didn't hit me until the game was over.
September 18th, 2019 at 10:43 PM ^
I'm agreeing... That game was unbelievable, right up until it sucked. I was honestly stunned they played it so close given what they had to play through. The ending hurt more than it should have.

September 18th, 2019 at 9:29 PM ^
Let’s circle back on the credibility of Yoder. You people...
September 18th, 2019 at 9:33 PM ^
We need to shorten the bench vs giving guys time that havent played especially in a big game like this. Tru Wilson can handle the load. Haskins can come in during the 4th quarter of the Rutgers game and prove himself.
September 19th, 2019 at 2:11 AM ^
Now that Tru is healthy, I bet he picks up significant snaps behind ZC. Proven at blitz pick up and excellent ball security.
September 18th, 2019 at 9:37 PM ^
Turner, Tru, Haskins...…….
I don't care that Turner missed a block. Shit happens. As long as it doesn't become a habit. When he runs the ball he's looked good.
Tru Wilson is undoubtedly ahead of Haskins as long as he's healthy
September 18th, 2019 at 10:53 PM ^
Exactly. I don’t like that when someone messes up they don’t get another chance to prove themselves. Like you said consistently fucking up is different, but give them a chance to improve.
I was watching the Bama game and a young back fumbled (I forget his name now). Instead of benching him for weeks like Harbaugh would’ve done, Saban threw him right back out there the next drive. Let them grow.
September 18th, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
Turner with 13-18 carries
Wilson with 5-8 carries
Maybe BVS with 2-3
September 18th, 2019 at 10:01 PM ^
Add 6 or so carries for Shea and maybe don't give the ball to BVS for a while.
On the road with a skittish Shea, I'd want Tru back there more to help protect him.
September 18th, 2019 at 10:15 PM ^
I'd be fine with this. Turner's looked great running the ball when he's had the opportunity. Just needs to figure out how to protect the quarterback.
Don't sleep on these backs. They've got the same dudes blocking for them and lots of talent.
September 18th, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
Turner would be a starter on most Big Ten teams.
September 18th, 2019 at 10:38 PM ^
Most being 10 ?
Ok. Would Shea be a starter on most Big Ten teams ?
September 19th, 2019 at 8:49 AM ^
Yes. Why are you here
September 18th, 2019 at 9:42 PM ^
Worry about the o-line....if they play well, things will be fine.
September 18th, 2019 at 9:45 PM ^
Source says Haskins is out 2 to π fortnights with an inverted falange. No one has refuted it so you decide for yourself. Draw your baths and fire up those toasters.
September 18th, 2019 at 11:52 PM ^
"Oh my God, this plane doesn't even have a phalange!"
September 18th, 2019 at 9:54 PM ^
Quite frankly, we can't beat Wisconsin with the Army game plan. This will be a "speed in space" attack where UM's rush game will be a minimal factor in the outcome. Going to unleash the spread, dog. Go Blue !!!
September 18th, 2019 at 9:58 PM ^
Army threw 5 passes all game and took us to OT.
Let's run 5 times all game and blow the doors off!
September 18th, 2019 at 11:13 PM ^
I cant wait, Wsconsin has no idea what to prepare for, they really dont. Especially if we get DPJ back because we have shown nothing really and now we dont even know who will be playing, lol
