At Media Days, Harbaugh says announcement of game on foreign soil is coming.

And people were mad about playing at MSG.
Ugh. I don't know what I did wrong, and I can't figure it out. Here's the tweet:
Leedamir Corsotin?
Fish Stadium in Sochi would absolutely rock as a venue with Cosmos Arena as a close second. Advantage of Cosmos is they could fly around the moon and back after the game.
The moon would be a good location. We have a UM Alumni Association there.
Hell. Yes.
It’s probably in Windsor so they can land that 4 star TE that Harbaugh loves.
I think this is a cool idea, but damn they really need to win something (a B1G east title, or at least a bowl game) before worrying about this distracting stuff.
Haven’t both of these technically been done? Won the first bowl game and shared the Big Ten East last year.
Considering we got our ass handed to us in Columbus last year, I can't be the first person that forgot we "shared" the B1G East last year.
Didn't Ohio State lose their conference game worse than we lost ours? 29 point loss vs 23
I don't even know what to do with this comment. This is 50% lack of self-awareness and 50% delusional desperation.
No one cares about a share of the big ten east when we got demolished by OSU. Bragging about a 2018 big ten east title is absurd. I'm not saying you're bragging about it, but anyone who does needs to check themselves and look at the score of the OSU game. That's the tie breaker. There is no share garbage as far as I'm concerned.
Correct.
No it’s not absurd, the season is a whole body of work like it or not
When does Harbaugh expect the banner to be hung and the rings to be ready?
Just be quiet, troll.
My guess is a game against Wisconsin/Minnesota in Canada
I would love to watch them play in Indianapolis first before they play on “foreign soil.” But maybe that’s just me.
Indy feels like foreign soil. Maybe that’s what he means.
Or vs. PSU in Toronto
Either way, I'm guessing it's several years down the line
In my opinion, it would be a shame to take a big conference game away from either team's home stadium. This is the kind of thing that we should do with a mediocre game to create some interest and market to a different area, not something we should do with a game that will have 100,000+ fans anyway.
I think Canada is a logical choice, they actually kind of play this sport too. Additionally, the travel would be easier midseason.
However, I wouldn't mind a big splash like Wembly Stadium in London with the history. Just schedule it right before the bye week.
Toronto feels more like America Junior to me. Don't get me wrong, Toronto is cool, but Montreal feels European, Toronto feels like the US.
Canada, eh. NSFW due to cussin'.
You are right as we call Ontario the 51st state.
Michigan football is gonna take over Windsor!!
Really, really cool.
Harbaugh and the program just keep motoring on as if their the shit, no matter the record against Ohio State.
EDIT: I don't mind the negs, but based on the comments below they may be for the wrong reasons.
I like this game - I think it's really, really cool. There is no s/
You can infer from that I also approve of Harbaugh and the program motoring on as if they're the shit, no matter the record against OSU. That's a good thing, they should be doing that.
If the negs are for their/they're, they are readily deserved.
You are right, how dare they continue to run the program and create cool opportunities for the players and talk to the media. They need to get their priorities in order.
If they can't beat Ohio State, they should lock themselves in Schembechler Hall and keep their heads down and avoid all public encounters and media events.
You have read my comment incorrectly.
I don't expect people to know my posting history, but I am the furthest thing from a Harbaugh critic. I'm at the opposite end - I think he's been an excellent coach here win/loss wise, much more so than probably only a handful of others. I like the international trips, his quirkiness, all of it.
I think it says a lot about this site that a sincere comment like mine above generated so much activity, because it was assumed sarcastic. But to the extent that it rallied the troops in defense of Harbaugh, it had an excellent unintended effect.
Do you know what players like? Winning.
They must love Harbaugh then, he has the 8th best P5 win total since he arrived here.
They’re priorities are all out of wack. There never going to beat OSU doing stuff like this. The B10 Championship is wear we need to be, but I don’t know if we’ll ever get their.
So in your edit you decided not to fix your “their” to “they are” or “they’re”?
Yes, I feel it would have been dishonest to change it. Are you upset by that? It's seems an odd thing to draw a reaction.
We already play a game on foreign soil every other year in Ohio, that wasteland between Ann Arbor and Pittsburgh.
Do not really like this. If it takes away a home game that sucks for season ticket holders. And if it’s a non conference opponent I would rather have an opportunity to travel to a college stadium I may have never been to.
Yup. Everyone hated the games played in Arlington but are onboard with a game on foreign soil.
Sag Nasty hits it. Pricing people right out of going. This isn’t needed at all.
Why is it my first thought is we gave up a home game against Notre Dame to play the Fighting Irish in Ireland?
Because this isn't your first rodeo.
How about playing Notre Dame at the Flavian Amphitheatre (aka the Colloseum) in Rome? That would be so f&cking awesome.
More likely will be Wembley.
Notre Dame playing Penn State at the Colosseum has a better vibe to it: Christians vs. Lions. I don’t think the empire had wolverines doing battle.
It will be vs. Rutger.
In Turkey.
A couple years back when AS Roma came to Ann Arbor to play a friendly, there was talk about a future ND VS Michigan game in Rome at AS Roma's new stadium. Problem is that stadium is a few years behind schedule because of Roman politics and ground has yet to be broken. Moreover, Rome is currently is a heaping pile of trash due to more politics...literal trash piles everywhere. So, I'm not sure how many people want to visit under current circumstances.
Unless the city of Rome gets its act together soon, I suspect a future match will be somewhere else...likely where there is an alumni presence for both schools. Dont know for sure, but assume that would be the UK.
Aren't we supposed to play at Washington soon? That game could easily be moved to Vancouver where the B.C. Lions play
Yeah, but the way Warde negotiates, we'll give up our home game against Washington in order to play it in Vancouver. Kind of like our "home game" against Rutgers that's now in NYC.
While I think that it is pointless to play at MSG, that home game will be half filled anyway and the New York alumni base will fill out MSG. Kinda cool to me that they want to bring the teams to the alumni and I am sure the players enjoy playing at a venue like MSG.
MSG is the most overrated arena in sports.
Amen DMill but there are a lot things NY that are severely overrated
