A huge one at that!
+1 for the good guys
Congrats and Go Blue!
Congrats and Go Blue!
SHIIIIIIT!!!! My head is spinning with all these commits this week. The future is bright!
great video! Welcome and Go Blue!
That video is one of the best I've seen for a commit. Really well done, plus the dog doesn't hurt.
Probably my favorite. It has a Jeep, a dog, piles of wood. Blake Corum could be Captain America for all I know.
Anybody know if this dude is an EE? He looks like he could play now for UM.
BREAKING: Four-star RB Blake Corum commits to #Michigan over LSU, USC, Ohio State; another long-time top target for the Wolverines: https://t.co/9Zy75wzd1B pic.twitter.com/2A6zDcNVoX

Awesome. Welcome to Michigan Blake!
By the way, there is a new #1 recruiting class in the B1G...
https://247sports.com/Season/2020-Football/CompositeTeamRankings/
And that's not counting McGregor's ~50 spot jump to 5-star that will come once Rivals actually ranks him instead of putting him at fucking 11th in the state!
Morant is also going to jump once Rivals ranks him nationally.
Nice!
LSU is absolutely filthy with the bagmen. Elite elite elite recruiting with a very Michigan-like 10-3 season featuring similarly (maybe even more) one sided ass kicking by their main rival.
Definitely not more than Michigan. LSU has beaten Alabama a couple times in the last 15 years and has a couple titles. But LSU is a state with a ton of talent and they're right next to Texas and have amazing facilities.
Except for the fact that of the 20 commits, only 6 are from Louisiana and 2 of those are 3 star recruits, so that doesn't really explain the sudden appeal, and they just released an article saying a booster loaned the father of a lineman $180,000. Other than that, I agree with you.
The link leads to the overall national recruiting rankings.
That Clemson class is absolutely sickening. Class of 18 recruits with an average rating of .9456, including 3 of the top 5 DTs in the nation.
Clemson shows what bag men and lots of demonstrated success can get you.
Said, "demonstrated success" deriving largely from excellent coaching, prior bag men efforts, not having to play school, and eating a bowl of Osterine-O's for breakfast each morning.
All true. It's pretty clear that "just bagmen" or "just success" can only take you so far. Having both is like a rocket ship.
Clemson SC is also probably a pretty cool place to play football. It's tiny town, but the players are like gods there and women are Southern pretty. If I were an elite HS prospect choosing between getting paid to play football at Alabama or Clemson I'd definitely pick Clemson just based on location.
Wait, who gave them Osterine-O's for breakfast?
Dabo: "Well, gol-ooolllyyy!! We done meant to pull that off the table, schucks, that was just a gol-derned mistake!! Ain't nothun' to see here, folks, we just good'ol church goin' people down here, now, dagummit y'all, whooooweee..."
Probably...
We will end up with a definite national top 10 and likely fringe top 5 class when it is all said and done if we swing a couple more top guys and the rankings catch up here on a few others already committed. That’s where we need to be to stay competitive and run with the elite teams. Always top 10 and periodically top 5 classes.
I agree with you. Michigan needs to continue to hover right the 5-10 range and then show some real progress on the field. Enough of that and you start breaking into the elite range.
This class will not be near 5. It will end in the 9 to 13 range.
Next years class very well could be top 5 though.
Well that kinda depends on ratings bumps and drops, and if they land a big fish or 2 after winning the B1G.
This is not a top 5 class. We are 9th right now. We might pass The U, but everyone else in front of us has either a significant lead or less recruits. It’s hard to say if we will even finish with a top ten class. McGregor might move up but Atteberry will probably continue to fall. This will be true for all recruits, some will rise and others will fall.
Enjoy the fact that we are getting guys we wanted who had a mutual interest in playing at Michigan.
I see a lot of risers in that group too. Persi, McGregor, Atteberry and Lewis will probably see some pretty sizable jumps in the composite soon. Mohan and Dennis will probably get a bump after their senior years, and Hibner is so unscouted that he'll probably move up around 500 spots soon.
For me the key is that average rating statistic. However, for large classes that statistic can see the average pulled down. IIRC, we had the #1 class last year in the Big Ten due to size, technically either OSU or PSU had a stronger "average" player rating.
However, if you ranked the recruits top to bottom, our top 15 or so matched up in terms of average player rating with the top 15 or so of OSU's class. The difference was we had another N+ lower ranked kids too, whereas OSU just had a small class.
So essentially, similar classes *except* we also had those N+ number of lottery tickets, some of which might hit, whereas OSU had none.
That's what I'm saying. I see a lot of guys that will jump pretty significantly. There's a lot of guys without camp scouting that play other sports, and a lot of guys from smaller states that don't get as much attention. I expect 1 or 2 of the 4 star players to lose a 4th star, and 3 or 4 of the 3 stars to gain one. I also expect a lower ranked tight end with a connection to Michigan to leave the class.
I clicked the link and Ohio State is still ahead of us despite having 6 less commits and one of them is a kicker.
Great video he made. Woohoo! This is a young man who’s ready to contribute. Way to go blue!
Welcome Blake, way to GoBlue!
There won't be anyone left to commit during the Barbeque at the Big House! What a week!!!
Yes! Big time get! Go Blue!
Another excellent addition. He shows burst and good hands - should be a good complement to Charbonnet.
Go Blue.
bites the dust...
As someone who shares a first name with this young man....I can confirm that Blakay is indeed ready to go to war.
Hoping he can be what we thought Chris Evans could be. Welcome to the big house!
Sainristil, Jackson, Henning and now Corum...and you can add (George) Johnson and Dennis to this group type...I like what this portends. With that outstanding group on the outside and Charbonnet getting isolated against a linebacker...this could be very entertaining!
We're getting set up to have an OSU-like ability to gash teams with speed all over the field. This offense is going to get explosive.
Love this kids game. Is it just me or does he seem like a more explosive version of Drake Johnson?
Let's go Blake!
Welcome to the family, Blake!
Go Blue!
Dude gets up to speed very fast.
He adds some much needed Blakecorum to the running backs room.
I liked his character. He had some great lines and moments on that show.
I like his film. He's like Sam McGuffie, except he can break a pinky tackle.
