Coach Warinner Love In Thread
Dear Coach Warriner,
I don't know if you read this website but if you happen to stumble across this thread I, and I suspect, all of us Michigan FB fans, want to say thank you. We appreciate your hard work, talents and for saying yes to become our Offensive Line coach. Your work is highly noticeable and very appreciated.
Thank you.

Difference maker. Work is only partially done. Please help destroy our rivals with dignity. We will thank you mightily.
October 15th, 2018 at 4:49 PM ^
Destroy them with character and cruelty.
October 15th, 2018 at 5:18 PM ^
Against MSU let's emphasize the cruelty part
October 15th, 2018 at 7:55 PM ^
Yes - cruelty, with malice and forethought.
October 15th, 2018 at 4:22 PM ^
His work with these guys this season is impressive. Grade is incomplete, but very encouraging.
Beat MSU.

Given how much progress the Oline has already made this year, and given how close the Ohio St games were the last 2 years, Michigan running the table is a real possibility.
October 15th, 2018 at 4:54 PM ^
How do you have 0 points?!?! Your posts are most excellent, and your death was spectacular
October 15th, 2018 at 5:09 PM ^
Dicked one too many bods apparently
October 15th, 2018 at 10:21 PM ^
Good question! I've been zeroed out. Maybe a post I put up last night to mock another post for it's unhelpful brevity. When the mods blasted my post they took the points along with it. Hey, at least I'm not in Bolivia, I guess.
October 15th, 2018 at 4:33 PM ^
Based on what we're seeing, Michigan needs to do WHATEVER it takes to keep this guy as long as possible. Getting our OL to an elite level is the last of the puzzle pieces to getting this team a B10 championship and in the CFP.

Can we chill with this? Did no one read the preview? Their D-line isnt all world. Im not saying he hasnt done great but the praise is a little over the top.
If he can get the C/G's to pick up twists next week I will start throwing out the L word.
October 15th, 2018 at 4:47 PM ^
Considering that last year the o-line couldn't stop my grandma and all her friends at the old folks home, watching them dominate any d-line feels good to me.
October 15th, 2018 at 4:55 PM ^
There are number of factors helping on the field too.
Only 1 new starter on the Oline. Ruiz im counting as he started at guard last half/quarter of season. So all should be improved this year. Runyun def seems improved and Warinner deserves credit for that.
Wrs are improved. see the mass exodus of JR Wrs.
And Shea. A mobile QB. And good.

The praise is completely over the top until we look good against a fully armed opponent. We should find out the real answer this weekend.
Basically, in relative terms (from horrifying to solidly consistent/competent), he's been amazing.
But they got hammered in the only real test (ND). Sure, caveats apply to the 1st game in a new system, and improvement has been apparent, but we still don't know if they've risen to "real deal" status yet.
People here are myopic and jump on anyone who takes a remotely measured, objective view of situations like this, so enjoy the bashing you've received (and will receive).
October 15th, 2018 at 5:17 PM ^
Sorry but if you can't see the tangible difference in the offensive line this season you're not looking hard enough.
October 15th, 2018 at 6:00 PM ^
Sorry, but if you can't see the recognition of a tangible difference in this part of my reply, then you're not looking hard enough.
"Basically, in relative terms (from horrifying to solidly consistent/competent), he's been amazing."
October 15th, 2018 at 6:05 PM ^
Completely agree with you here. Our run game will go through a true test this week
October 15th, 2018 at 6:30 PM ^
Saying praise has been over the top is pretty over the top on your end. He has done a tremendous job halfway into the season. I expect the Oline will take another step forward against MSU. I just hope it’s enough for you...
October 15th, 2018 at 7:11 PM ^
"The praise is completely over the top..."
What? Over the top brain-dead adulation at MGoBlog? The hell you say.
October 15th, 2018 at 8:33 PM ^
Awwww, poor Don, this is gonna be a rough week, hang tight little buddy.
October 16th, 2018 at 3:41 AM ^
Cmon Don, look at JBB during Drevno and look at JBB now with Warinner.
Thatvalone should make you rush the field to give that man a hug.
October 16th, 2018 at 6:42 AM ^
"Thatvalone should make you rush the field to give that man a hug."
Oddly enough, my comment didn't directly refer to Warinner, who has done a great job by any objective measure. I'd shake his hand and say so if I had the opportunity.
I ain't hugging him, loving him, putting lipstick on his dick, or letting him fuck my sister. Y'alls are weird.
October 15th, 2018 at 5:21 PM ^
While I agree with this sentiment, I don't think the praise is entirely inappropriate. The inability to pick up a first down late in games when holding a lead has not only created perception issues (big games, rivals, ranked opponents, road struggles, etc.), but also kept this program from clearing that hurdle separating us from the elite (see 2016). One more first down in the 2015 MSU game, the 2016 Iowa game, and/or the 2016 OSU game, and this entire program is looked at very differently today.
Getting acceptable offensive-line play could turn out to be kind of a big deal for this program.
October 15th, 2018 at 7:42 PM ^
Remember when terrible teams like Cincinnati made our OL look like utter shit? Do you seriously think that Wisconsin isn't much much better than the teams that we struggled with early last year?
October 15th, 2018 at 4:46 PM ^
He's been amazing. I have no doubt, the line will keep getting better and better. Starting to feel pretty good about their ability to close out games.
October 15th, 2018 at 4:54 PM ^
So, anyone know what happened at Minnesota last year that made Warriner available?
October 15th, 2018 at 4:59 PM ^
Michigan called him
October 15th, 2018 at 7:46 PM ^
Michigan $$$$$$$$$$$ > Minnesota $
October 15th, 2018 at 4:54 PM ^
Dear other teams, keep your grubby hands off of him.
This will be your only warrinering.
October 15th, 2018 at 5:01 PM ^
Need to beat MSU.
October 15th, 2018 at 6:09 PM ^
No shit, Sherlock
October 15th, 2018 at 5:01 PM ^
I would let him fuck my sister.
October 15th, 2018 at 5:15 PM ^
Without pics we can't tell lif this is a compliment or a slur sir
October 15th, 2018 at 6:17 PM ^
I also am good with the footballs.
October 15th, 2018 at 7:25 PM ^
You're the gatekeeper to who sees your sister? How does she feel about that?
October 15th, 2018 at 5:56 PM ^
...for all those who (somehow/ignorantly) believe that coaching is not a HUGE difference-maker-here is "Exhibit A".
October 15th, 2018 at 6:06 PM ^
Hard to believe these are the same guys from last year. He’s figured out how to get the best out of them. That’s good coaching. He’s a keeper.
October 15th, 2018 at 6:15 PM ^
Warriner is awesome. Have to give some props to McElwain also. Wideouts have been way better than last season.
October 15th, 2018 at 7:27 PM ^
Warrrrrrriner? Warinnnnner? Warinner.
October 15th, 2018 at 6:19 PM ^
Loved the hire in the spring, love it even more now...this is a coaching stud
October 15th, 2018 at 6:23 PM ^
Amen.
And Grind Sparty down!
October 15th, 2018 at 6:29 PM ^
He has helped, in large part, to change the culture at Michigan after last years nightmare season.
I would say Jim McElwain has had a big part in it too.
October 15th, 2018 at 7:13 PM ^
Assuming the results keep coming on the OL, and it looks like they just may, pay that man. Don’t allow him to leave.
October 15th, 2018 at 7:26 PM ^
Pay the man. Buy him a jet to vacation on. A home up north. Never let him leave.
That is all.
October 15th, 2018 at 7:50 PM ^
Doesn't Ed's son play for Sparty??
October 15th, 2018 at 8:37 PM ^
Amen!
As Patty Smith said:
"I am the Warinner!"
