Gotta beat the other two rape enablers first.

Trolls still suck. Go blue

Fire Pep Hamilton
October 13th, 2018 at 11:02 PM ^
+1, Funny
This was perhaps the most complete offensive performance under Harbaugh and Hamilton. Michigan was efficient, explosive, and was able to vary their scheme over the course of the game based on the situation. It was creative, and it was brutal.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:16 PM ^
And they only needed to show creativity and something new for 2 1/2 quarters. Hopefully saved some of that for next week!
October 13th, 2018 at 11:18 PM ^
There were two plays though that really stick out to me that I think give away what’s going to happen.
One was when Thomas was in for the jet sweep. It seems so obvious what’s going to happen now that I hate that play. Much like McDoom last year.
The other was Pattersons run for the TD. Even though the fake worked, I think Evans in the game gives it away that there isn’t gonna be a short yardage run. Higdon would have helped that play go smoother in my opinion.
Overall great game, but those are two minor points that I’ve seen too much of and think we need to diversify a bit more from
October 13th, 2018 at 11:24 PM ^
I disagree. They actually ran Evans on a couple of short yardage plays. That doesn't give it away at all.
October 14th, 2018 at 9:49 AM ^
I agree. Evans can hit that homerun straight up the gut. Defense has to respect that.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:26 PM ^
The double-QB thing with McCaffrey was another. I presume we'll actually throw it to McCaffrey the next time around.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:27 PM ^
fucking log off, dude
October 14th, 2018 at 2:54 AM ^
I mean, they used the jet motion as a fake so much verse NW that the safety that would come down on the motion never even went out there. So, the jet action does not give away where it's going .
And Evans ran on short yardage situations a few times. But I'm pretty sure it was a read option, if so a certain RB in doesn't tip anything.
October 14th, 2018 at 1:51 PM ^
Evans also presents an edge/speed play or pass out of the backfield to worry about.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:03 PM ^
There was a big Higdon run in the 3rd quarter that was off of a fake to Thomas, totally set up by the stuffed run in the first quarter.
There were also several plays with jet action where the timing looked weird, like the snap was slightly delayed. I think they were trying to get Wisconsin to jump- or at least put on film that if you jump you’ll get punished. It will be really interesting to see how that package does in the ufr this week. I think it is legit.

Disagree. “Funny” How?
October 14th, 2018 at 12:03 AM ^
Funny in the sarcastic manner.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:35 PM ^
disagree. Our red zone offense in the first half is bad. Left too many points on the filed coupling with an inconsistent kicker tonight. We still need improvement. We also had two fumble almost turn the game in 180 degree. Got to clean up the mistakes.
MSU game will be tougher given it's on a grass field, our speed advantage will be less. We need consistent 4 quarters to beat MSU + ref.
October 14th, 2018 at 12:03 AM ^
Yeah, it was nowhere near in the bag until the 4th. Granted Wisky never gets blown out like that (Chryst just threw in the towel). The elation is appropriate.
One of the more weirdly awesome wins I can remember. And I’ve been watching them since the 70s.
Beat MSU.
October 14th, 2018 at 12:13 AM ^
Beats Wisconsin 38-13 yet the team is bad because they left points on the field. You wouldn't happen to be Don Brown's illegitimate child would you?
October 14th, 2018 at 12:20 AM ^
You didn't know that good teams score TDs from the redzone every time?
October 14th, 2018 at 12:39 AM ^
Show me a team that has scored from the red zone every time this year. I'll wait.
October 14th, 2018 at 12:58 AM ^
Probably Alabama if they have ever been in the red zone this season.
October 14th, 2018 at 3:23 AM ^
There's always room to improve. I agree with what he said, those are some takeaways we can try to improve on. It doesn't mean we score every time but the Metellus pick FG miss could've been seven easily, and even if it wasn't, you usually expect Nordin to make at least one of those kicks.
We're not berrating the team. It was a fantastic team victory. But you'd like to see these things improve next week.
October 14th, 2018 at 8:57 AM ^
I don’t need to see any things improve next week actually. If we are up 5 scores with 5 minutes to go in the game next week, I don’t see why we would need to improve much.
October 14th, 2018 at 8:59 AM ^
Do Louisville's opponents count as a team?
October 14th, 2018 at 10:46 AM ^
I'm thinking your sarcasm meter needs some recalibration.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:56 PM ^
And Harbaugh.
October 14th, 2018 at 12:22 AM ^
Why not? According to UmBig11 Harbaugh is our OC.....doesn't look like we need Pep anymore.
October 14th, 2018 at 8:20 AM ^
So we just beat down the meat machine.
I was a bit concerned early when Taylor was getting 7 yards a pop, and I’m not really sure why Chryst tried to establish the passing so early, but maybe he figured it was a matter of time before we stacked the box, and he didnt want a cold QB trying to carve us up. That’s said, Hornibrook could be given 5 more games to try throwing against this D, and still not hit 300 yards passing.
Anyways, and more importantly, on to our coaching and scheme. Have we finally turned the corner, this year and as a program, where we deploy the dreaded dual threat RPO qb, instead of just trying to meatball teams around? Don’t get me wrong, I love me some power, and I’d never want to abandon the Smash mouth in yo face signature run between the tackles Harb-offense. But seeing Shea, and then McCaffrey and Milton pick up big chunks on the ground felt completely different (this was not RR/Denard run first qb), but instead a well thought out add-on to the pre-existing elements and identity of the offense.
Over the years, I have broken many a remote control against the wall watching the scampering qb shred our defenses. I really hope we stick with the new program where we can beat you up front and pound the rock, beat you to the outside with our backs or qbs, and beat you with tight ends and slot receivers over the middle, and even over the top with beastly giant and burner WRs downfield.
TLDR- will we finally and consistently become a multiple and diverse offense, abandoning Neanderthal man ball only offense, calling plays specifically to out-scheme a defense.
October 14th, 2018 at 8:28 AM ^
Ah, last point. In fairness to Harbaugh, he had no problem deploying a dual threat qb, even in the NFL, with Colin Kaepernick. Is all of this merely a function of Jim now having the right guy under center to run all this variety?
And if so, it’s pretty clear that McCaffrey and Milton are next in line. I feel a bit bad for Peters who probably thought he’d be coming aboard to run a pure pro-style offense and he may unfortunately need to transfer if he’s fallen to 4th on the depth chart.
October 13th, 2018 at 10:50 PM ^
I hope their work on Harrison is/was as successful as their game plan tonight.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:37 PM ^
I'd say it couldn't have went any better.
October 13th, 2018 at 10:50 PM ^
Really excellent offensive game plan. Best we have seen this year.
October 13th, 2018 at 10:51 PM ^
How about Wisconsin coaching? Hornibrook should have been 0-0 today. They was no reason for him to throw a pass.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:28 PM ^
And why in the world did they not go for it on 4th and 2 when they were on the 40-something? Every time they ran the ball they got at least a yard. It's not a stretch to think they could have picked it up and they needed momentum. Instead, they punted into the end zone and got a net of 20-something yards.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:45 PM ^
Seriously that was awful. Chryst should be ashamed of himself for that.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:51 PM ^
The B1G West is such garbage. Chryst is practically assured better than 50-50 odds of being a division winning coach - every year.
October 14th, 2018 at 11:40 AM ^
That was absurd. On 3rd and 2 he should have planned to run it twice. Punting never should have been a consideration. He basically surrendered. And it was still the 3rd quarter.
October 14th, 2018 at 1:29 PM ^
I was standing behind (I never sat) four Wisconsin fans all game. There were a few times they were crazy and I can see why. Here's some of the dumb coaching things from Wisconsin...
1. Not calling timeout at the end of the first half when we attempted the long field goal. I'm not sure we even kick a field goal in Wisconsin calls a timeout there. It allowed Michigan to try the kick or throw up a pass to the endzone. Timeout would have allowed for them to at least get the ball back.
2. The amount of running plays being called when falling behind in the fourth. There wasn't any urgency for Wisconsin until the last drive. Along that is the dumb punt on fourth and short.
3. What really pissed the Wisconsin fans off was the last drive and the onside kick. Why wait so long to start playing like that? Wisconsin coaching was dreadful.
October 14th, 2018 at 1:55 PM ^
They were able to play like that only against our back-up D. That's why they call it "garbage time."
October 13th, 2018 at 10:51 PM ^
I’ve been trying to keep my expectations in check after week 1.. but, fuck it! The Harbaugh team has fully arrived. We winning the Big10 this year boys!
October 13th, 2018 at 10:51 PM ^
Fire all the coaches for blowing Milton's redshirt
October 13th, 2018 at 10:53 PM ^
He can play in three more games and not torch his redshirt.

Three more games, OSU, B1G Championship game and playoff game.
October 13th, 2018 at 10:57 PM ^
So many people are dense that the RS rules have changed
October 13th, 2018 at 11:08 PM ^
Surely your post is sarcasm, albeit badly executed.
We have discussed the changes to redshirt rules at some length here, and unless you are one of those weird people that rarely visits this blog and / or does not download a copy of NCAA Rules And Interpretations each year, I cannot understand how you would not know that he is in no danger of having his redshirt blown.

The really telling thing was not playing Peters, though. To me, this signals a post-season transfer by maintaining his eligibility.
