Completely agree - and pray that administration is as diligent as you are by having a succession plan!  Oh the irony.

It is Warde's responsibility…

It is Warde's responsibility is to hire and retain a great coaches. In this case, he failed. If he was not given the resources or support, then he should say as much in order to correct the problem.

YES!  Very straight forward!…

YES!  Very straight forward!  Leaders need to constantly re-recruit their best employees in order to retain them! Jim is not a hard study and Warde failed horribly in this regard.  I also think there is something to the fact that Jim kept Warde somewhat distanced from the program. I suspect Warde will be breaking down film with Moore on the regular.....

Thanks. You sound like a great guy

Many here noted that missing…

Many here noted that missing the HC on gameday isn’t a big deal because the work is done during the week. Now hearing what a great HC Moore is going to be because he performed well on game days. Which is it? He may turn out to be a great HC, but handing him the reigns to the program with zero HC experience seems risky.

It seems like many here are…

It seems like many here are resigned to the fact that he gone. I just can’t (don’t want to?) accept that. Moore did well on game days, but as noted here many times, the most important coaching takes place during the week. This isn’t hard.  Coach has shown that he cares more about feeling wanted than anything else. Weird? Maybe, but very simple. Treat him like a 5star and keep him here!!!

"I called Warde and I asked…

"I called Warde and I asked him if he wanted me to be the head coach. And he said, 'Yes, 100 percent.' And I said, 'OK then. That's what I want to do,'"  Harbaugh told the Free Press late Thursday night. "And I told him, 'Warde, this will not be a reoccurring theme every year. This was a one time thing.'"

He later added: "I told Warde, 'From here on out, I'm working at the pleasure of the University of Michigan, because that's, in my heart, where I want to be."

“I called Warde [Manuel, the Michigan athletic director] and I asked him if he wanted me to be the head coach. And he said, ‘Yes, 100 percent.’ And I said, OK then. That’s what I want to do.’ And I told him, ‘Warde, this will not be a reoccurring theme every year. This was a one-time thing.”

Not an article, but a few…

Not an article, but a few talking points:

Stealing signs is not against NCAA nor Big10 rules

Advanced scouting is permissible in high school and professional football, but not in college football.

A MIchigan staffer was found to have purchased tickets to games of future MIchigan opponents and sent to others. He has not been found to have attended any games in person

Big10 Commissioner was an MLB exec during the Astros sign stealing scandal and doesn’t understand the massive difference between stealing signs in baseball (against the rules) and in football (allowed)

Hope this helps.

The best podcast title in the history of ever.  Outstanding work!!

This doesn't seem very…

This doesn't seem very complicated. Harbaugh has stated in the past that "he didn't feel the love". The guy has a constant need to feel appreciated and valued. Support him and pay him. Hard to believe the program will do better under anyone else's leadership. That bar is pretty high and will require a serious money cannon anyway.

He just said he will be back in 2023 less than 2 weeks ago. How many times would you like him to come out and say the same thing? Stop falling for NFL talking heads clickbate!!!

Jim Harbaugh has a history…

Jim Harbaugh has a history of honoring his agreements, was completely transparent in his dealings last year, and has publicly stated he will be coaching Michigan in 2023. NFL talking heads speculating without facts. Nothing to see here.

Wouldn't a "COMPETITOR" stay…

Wouldn't a "COMPETITOR" stay and compete? Transferring because he lost the starting job is inconsistent with "Those who stay will be champions".  Forever grateful for his work last year and wish him success in the future. Also grateful for those who persevere through competition and make teams better; in football and in life.

On the recruiting front, he can state that he was open an honest with recruits and this was really the first time he's directly mentioned an interest in the NFL.  Past years were all speculation from NFL media that ended up being incorrect.

Thank you for your opinion…

Thank you for your opinion on my take. You don't think its an issue.  Cool.  Now I can sleep.  I'll try to be more careful to align my takes with your opinions moving forward.

Not sure how Harbaugh avoids…

Not sure how Harbaugh avoids being damaged by this.  Perception will be that he's not wanted in the NFL and M was his 2nd choice.  Bad look for recruiting and weakens the leverage he needs to make necessary program changes.

Mark Carman?  Let me get this straight - "outside chance Michigan pays over the top and he stays"?  So UM might outbid their biggest donor?  Would they get the $ to outbid Ross from......Ross?

Cool. Keep doing as you're told.

Say what you want about him…

Say what you want about him but he was one of, if not the first to call JH to M back in late 2014. He's also one of the first and few to connect the importance of NIL and transfer requirements in retaining JH.  He's credible.

10 minute walk. Same walk…

10 minute walk. Same walk the band takes from warm up to the Big House.  Ferry Field is large enough that there is plenty of room to mingle, throw a football, without being right on top of each other.  There were a few corporate tents, but mostly just families / friends and everyone was friendly and outgoing. Best part is the loading and unloading. You pull your car up and they take care of the rest.  You really don't have to do a thing!

We've used Tailgate Guys…

We've used Tailgate Guys twice and had a good experience both times. Great location (Ferry Field with access to clean and heated bathrooms), full service (they even unload / load your car), catering options (we used Slows BBQ), and media package so you can watch pregame / early & late games, and for those that just want to watch the game in the tent.  Strongly recommend.  One drawback is that they started selling 2 game minimums, but have since relaxed that requirement.  Happy to answer any additional questions you may have.

Might be a little premature speculation as the Lions currently don't have a GM.

Fleck never coached at GVSU.  Kelly's replacement there, Chuck Martin, is worth keeping an eye on as someone ready to make the jump to a more prominent program after turning around Miami (NTM)

Can't defend the results to…

Can't defend the results to date - especially against rivals.  That said, if Jim Harbaugh can't win here, the problems probably run deeper than the HC.  Top coaching candidates see this which will make it hard to attract a top tier coach.  It's a bad situation, but I continue to believe that the Jim Harbaugh is the program's best option for success.

Wow. Right or wrong, this is…

Wow. Right or wrong, this is the sentiment that undermines the success of the football program in my opinion. I seem to recall a belief that "The Big House is the front door to the University of Michigan"  Clearly no longer the case.....

Going to be a lot of delay…

Going to be a lot of delay penalties with no center.  I mean, the ball is just going to sit there.

Problems here go way deeper…

Problems here go way deeper than the HC. If Harbaugh can't win here, it will be a long time before anyone else does. Good coaches with options will see that and look elsewhere, so you better be ready for "anybody but Harbaugh" because Matt Campbell isn't coming.

Floating the "extension for…

Floating the "extension for less $" story is an obvious ploy to create a peaceful parting of ways - especially under the cover of the financial strain of Covid.  And by the way, if one of Michigan's favorite sons can't win here, it will be a long time before anyone else does.  Neither Matt Campbell nor any other high profile, up and coming coach is going to take this job. The best chance at winning is with the current coach.  Now neg away all of my 35 points because you don't like hearing the truth.  Oh....and fire Bakich.
