I really wonder if Michigan ever crossed McCord’s mind or whether Michigan contacted him. I think he’s better than any of the current QBs and his presence would’ve added a great angle to this year’s game. But I imagine he’d rather throw the ball more often.
Players transfer to get playing time and/or to showcase themselves. Michigan’s offense isn’t an attractive destination for QBs or receivers, especially after a season when they stayed extremely run focused even though they had a likely top 5 QB.
The challenge is making the right choice at the beginning, without seeing anyone in a real game. They don’t want to play musical QBs, and if they get it wrong it may take a while to admit it and go the next guy.
He reached behind the defender and caught the ball. The defender made a nice play to knock it out as he tried to pull it back. Maybe Marvin Harrison holds onto that. No one else.
It’s unusual that a program that just won the National Championship wouldn’t have an obvious heir apparent at the most important position on the field, and nothing about this spring game is going to erase the huge question mark hanging over the 2024 team. Naming a starter is going to be a tough decision and a roll of the dice.
Although I went with 2021 OSU as the best win, my favorite single moment was stopping Milroe on 4th down. I was surprised by the level of emotion that brought out in me.
If the passing game is so bad that 3rd and 7 becomes a running down, the 2024 season is going to be a real come down. All eyes on the QBs next Saturday. I think Tuttle is their best hope.
McCord played pretty well for OSU last year, but his sin was not playing up to the standard of the three 1st round picks who preceded him. OSU probably would’ve been better off if Day hadn’t panicked and sent him away. But in Howard, they still have an experienced QB who’s had some success and also have a 5 Star recruit behind him. Michigan has nothing but huge question marks, so much so that fans are touting Orji without ever having seen him throw a pass in a real game.
Good for him. I’m sure he’s more about getting to work this his new team than wanting the spotlight for himself. I always appreciated Joe Thomas choosing fishing with his dad over attending the draft. He was the first guaranteed top pick I remember who declined the spotlight.
Harbaugh is one of the very best, and he brought greatness back to Michigan. Moore has an incredibly tough act to follow, and reality is that there is almost zero chance he will be able to match his predecessor, just as Day was never going to be to match Meyer. That isn’t a knock on Moore, but rather an appreciation of how special the last three years were.
Couldn’t have cared any less. At its peak, as I drove down the freeway, I noticed that it wasn’t quite as bright as it usually is and realized that I’d seen this before…every evening as the sun starts to go down. If it had gone completely dark, it would’ve been something I see every night.
An offense without a capable QB vs. that defense must be brutal to watch. People love to give Iowa shit, but it’s sounding like Michigan may be very Iowaesque in 2024.

Instead, there seems to be only anger that they won’t be bringing you more joy. I have no idea if Davis killed himself or if he did, why, but there’s no point in speculating. Sometimes it is because of some physical or emotional pain. Occasionally, it has something to do with trouble the person created for themselves.
Stroud has played high visibility football for three seasons. To try to put the “can’t win big games” label on him at this point is just dumb. He was outstanding in both losses to Michigan and almost beat a Georgia team that dominated everyone, then had the best rookie season ever for an NFL QB. The Penn St. game showed that Barnhart does not have the ability to play tackle in the NFL. Guard is his only chance.
The draft is making it even more clear how impressive Michigan’s defensive dominance over Washington really was.
Someone is going to get a bargain on Cooper Dejean.
There are always exceptions, but being able to stay reasonably consistent and focused are keys to success in anything.

They ranked 2nd in the country in points allowed and third in yards allowed, and are returning almost everyone.
