"Positive News" re: Zinter

Submitted by JHumich on November 25th, 2023 at 5:15 PM

Angelique asked about him after the game, and coach Moore said they had just gotten off the phone with family, and it was positive news, and he'd be ready to go "down the road." Let's hope "down the road" includes the CFP. But even if not, great news for the young man:

Obviously him coming back would be a tremendous boost to our Bigten and CFP championship hopes but I really just want him to be good to go for the NFL. That said, I’d take him back in a heartbeat. Godspeed Zak!

Without a doubt, the hardest part of the game to watch. Glad to hear some positive news--doubt he's coming back this season but hopefully he's able to do the combine.

With lineman carted-off-the-field type of injuries, I take "ready to go down the road" as more like, nothing so severe that his football career is threatened. Having him back in a month seems incredibly unlikely, but I know absolutely nothing about anything.

That said, this is really great to hear!

He's given his all for us. At this point, I just hope there's no major damage and he's read to show out at the combine and get drafted as he should

Good news is that Barnhart and Trente did not look too shabby in relief

Barnhart has said he prefers guard but with Keegan and Zinter he didn’t have a shot to play there. So he called it out to play tackle. Guard is more natural for him. He won’t be Zinter level good, but he’s probably still one of the best guards in college  football.

Michigan has had some pretty terrible luck with guys coming back when they could have gone to the league. Hope it's nothing that impacts his career long term, but I really doubt we'll see him again in a winged helmet, unfortunately.

I just hope he's ok. Any return this year would be shocking when you see what happened. I'd love it but would surprise me.

I'd guess that he's done for the year and Moore is talking about his NFL future.

They didn’t show the reply because the bone broke and his leg was twisted sideways, you can see the trainers reset the bone right after the play. He is out a clean 6-8 weeks, but will have plenty of time getting ready to be a first rounder.

I would be utterly shocked if Zinter is back for the Iowa game.  The medical staff doesnt put an air-cast on your leg, and ambulance you to the hospital for an injury you can return from in 7 days.

Maybe Zinter can return for the CFP game.  Although I would be mildly surprised if Zinter is back for the CFP game.  I think Moore's comment about Zinter might be slightly more intended towards Zinter's future in the NFL (which is going to be a damn good future.)

He’s given all and more. I wish him nothing but success and hope the NFL recognizes his talent. He needs to do what’s best for him. Next man up which may be Trente and Barnhart (Guard).

Blake Corum flashing the 6-5 on the very next play on the game-winning score will be the stuff of absolute legends.

Goodness, I love the fucking shit out of this team.
