Would have been cool to land him, oh well. Normally I would hang around and commiserate, but I have a lot of reading to do, pertaining to the Big Ten Championship and possible CFP berth. Go Blue!!

Bye Felicia.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:54 PM ^
If he wasn’t convinced after being front row center for that game on Saturday, then there was nothing that could’ve convinced him anyway.
And that’s fine. It’s his choice and his life. He’s got to make those decisions for himself and do what’s best for him. Sucks that he won’t come here, but one man a program does not make. Michigan showed this weekend that it does not need elite shutdown corners to beat elite teams.
Domani will be fine without Michigan, and Michigan will be fine without him.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:54 PM ^
His loss.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:54 PM ^
His loss.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:54 PM ^
Ok cool hook em
November 30th, 2021 at 9:55 PM ^
Wish him luck; didn't think UM had much of a chance. I think he'll stick at USC.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:56 PM ^
I've seen this story before. If Bama is knocking you better answer. They put guys in the league.
December 1st, 2021 at 9:50 AM ^
As does Michigan. And if Michigan recruited at the same level as Bama, they would have the same if not better track record.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:56 PM ^
Bummer. I had maize and blue hopes, especially with the camaraderie and chemistry of this team. Bama does not seem like such a great or fun place. Would not be surprised if he ends up at USC. As others have noted, if the environment last Saturday did not do it for him, he was never coming here anyway.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:57 PM ^
Oh well.
His comments didn't seem like he wanted to be there, but you didn't want to look into them.
We can add Zeke Berry and there will be more fallout in other places we can capitalize on to round out the class.
The thing about Domani is he was a pure CB (Johnson might end up at S when its all said and done, I don't know if he has the hips for the Dax role...maybe).
But this can still be a great DB class.
Don't forget about Keon Sabb...if we add Berry and Sabb, and keep Johnson, Jones, Pollard and Dent. That's a DB class!
Johnson, Pollard at CB.
Jones at NB, with Berry as another possibility.
Sabb and Berry at S, with Dent there as well.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:58 PM ^
Between Sam Webb and EJ Holland I have to say EJ was more right on about Domani. Sam kept posting articles that made it sound like we were in it. Holland said he wasn't changing his Bama pick.
We can still get Keon Sabb and Zeke Berry is announcing this Friday. Both really good players.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:03 PM ^
Sam Webb stringing people? Should I **act** surprised?
There was a small group of us who realized that Webb kept lying through his teeth about Michigan's chances with certain uber highly rated players.
After 1 cycle, we saw through his nonsense and never paid him a dime again.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:16 PM ^
Sam isn’t “acting surprised”. He builds relationships with folks close to the recruits (usually a family member/coach/mentor, especially if they have Detroit area ties or something of that sort), and posts tea leaves from what they tell him. I feel it’s usually obvious when he truly feels confident about a recruit or if he’s just relaying info b/c it’s his job to do so (don’t ever forget that), but I never get the vibe that there’s deceitful intention. He clearly is an optimistic dude, and his subscription rate just so happens to benefits from him being that way, lol.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:22 PM ^
No disrespect to him, but it seems sometimes he talks with his heart and not his head.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:22 PM ^
The problem is some people think chance means lock and have also have the emotional fortitude of toddlers. These are the people who hate Webb.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
It's really not that hard to tell when Sam is confident about a recruit. Does he get some wrong? Sure, but Domani Jackson and Walter Nolan were always long shots that he was never confident about. Sam Webb haters are either miserable individuals, can't understand nuanced opinions, or both
November 30th, 2021 at 10:25 PM ^
I think it's difficult since Sam does take that approach, and at time his info more represents that family member/coach/mentor's view and not the recruit's own view. I feel when he's been off it's been because someone (like say Domani's dad) is feeding him pro-UM vibes, when that's more projection than actual feeling.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:20 PM ^
EJ Holland said Walter Nolan to Tennessee too. It's hard to make predictions.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:42 PM ^
I'm new to the paysites. I wasn't trying to put down Sam I like reading his stuff. I signed up for 24/7 so I could get free paramount+. The On3 had the $1 for a year so I got that too. But just reading the sites over the last couple of weeks I thought Holland had better info when it came to Domani. Sam's articles/info definitely seemed have a more positive spin. The other day someone posted Sam's entire Domani article on the On3 site and Holland said don't get excited.
It will be interesting to see how Conerly and couple of other players recruitment plays out. Sam and EJ seem to have different opinions on those guys.
November 30th, 2021 at 11:59 PM ^
Sams a sunshine blower and mouthpiece for the program which is how he keeps his insider contacts. He gets some stuff to make it worth it for him but he’s also not going to be the guy ever airing the bad side or dirty laundry. As long as you understand he’s part of a propaganda machine and putting out what the program wants out there he provides a helpful service and good information.
But when it comes to recruiting, just follow the National guys. And in this case the National guys have been saying it’s bama or usc for months. Domani never sounded like he liked Michigan, his dad just loves us.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:02 PM ^
Ok, dude, just don't tell me "academics" when you want to do a BBA and Ross is top 5 and Alabama is "uh.... Look at this NIL bag! That's some business right there!"
November 30th, 2021 at 10:02 PM ^
I've learned from years of rejections to not expect the big names much but enjoy the high effort Haskins who show up every once in a while.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:03 PM ^
Could he be trolling, or is this certain? I don’t have enough experience on recruiting commitments.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:07 PM ^
This isnt a troll job. He is gone. Dont drink the flavor-aid.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:04 PM ^
I don't hate on kids at all wanting to go where they want to school though. In this case, I feel for his dad. His dad, being a Michigan fan, experiencing one of the greatest Michigan games in our history, being on cloud nine after the game and having your son be like, yeah I'm not going here. What a punch to the dong.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:09 PM ^
Shoot, I'm jealous of his dad. Sidelines for the biggest Michigan game in 25 years? On the school's dime? Yes please.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:07 PM ^
With the way Sam had the 247 board set up, you’d have thought a commitment was imminent. I understand the man has to sell subscriptions but holy hell.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:09 PM ^
Shocked! Not. Wish the kid the best except for when he plays Michigan, if that ever happens.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:10 PM ^
If you can't stand the cold, get out of the Mitten. ? Best of luck to him.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:11 PM ^
It always seemed he wanted to be close to home.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:11 PM ^
It is so crazy to me that USC has been allowed to be bad for so long. As soon as the lights kick on the Cali kids swarm like moths to a street light.
I think we’re entering a new era of CFB, but I think it won’t just be dominated by a few.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:16 PM ^
Truly is no excuse for usc to be this mediocre. Premier program in a huge city in a state that still pumps out talent across prep and high school ball.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:25 PM ^
well, to be fair, the kid's heart was with USC - he committed to them with Helton as the coach after all.
Riley has a great track record...If they hired a lesser known coach, I am not sure if that would have been enough to have Jackson to re up... but with Riley, I am sure he's pitching the idea of rebuilding USC back its former glory to all the Cali kids.
Malachi Nelson just committed to USC and I expect a few more 5* like Lemon and Brown to join him as USC. Would not be shocked to see Jackson as well join them and spurn Bama
Riley's departure is going to gut OU's recruiting class.
November 30th, 2021 at 11:48 PM ^
Having lived in Southern California for several years, people that grow up there generally don't want to leave for all of its warts. Its what they know.
Imagine having to go all the way to the southeast or midwest just to play top tier D1 football. Its way too far from their families and those places are culturally so different from SoCal.
So not shocked at all that USC will open the recruiting floodgates now that Riley is the coach and the program has hope.
I never got a good feeling with this recruit. Probably has good intentions, but he comes off a bit as a diva. I think these highly rated guys who wait until signing day seem to be either addicted to the attention of the process or have commitment issues. With that said, would be great for Michigan to use this momentum to lock up more top 100 guys in future classes. Also think they need to be active in the transfer portal on the lines for next season given what will be lost there.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:16 PM ^
But….”Dream School”…yadda…yadda…yadda
November 30th, 2021 at 10:17 PM ^
Next man up.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:19 PM ^
I'm seeing predictions roll in for Semaj Morgan...#7 in state. WR prospect with some burst? Anyone have scout on this young man? Go blue.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:52 PM ^
I'm comping him to Mike Sainristil. Think he's a capable slot with some strong WR skills. Not as athletic as Giles or Henning but probably more skilled.
However, Morgan has self-reported some elite shuttle times (like would be 90th+ percentile NFL combine times). I don't see that level of quickness in his film but if that's legit then there's a world of upside
November 30th, 2021 at 11:09 PM ^
Thanks!
November 30th, 2021 at 10:18 PM ^
The next elite recruit where I see or hear Michigan is my dream school will be when I officially stop even paying attention to them. That is without a doubt the most consistent kiss of death when it comes to recruits who ultimately don’t end up here. He has a right to go where he wants to go or whatever and I don’t wish him anything but the best but the whole dream school is horseshit. If it was, you’d be one of the first ones committed.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:18 PM ^
Too bad since the guy has tremendous upside.
The positive is simply the fact that the coaches (and the folks who follow recruiting) won’t invest further energy in his selection of UM. Onward with a lot of other talented recruits who want the Michigan experience.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:22 PM ^
Rather have talent and people who want to be in AA.
I'm seeing predictions for Semaj Morgan WR 5-10 from Detroit area?
Near top 50 nationally (at WR).
November 30th, 2021 at 10:27 PM ^
2023 recruit
November 30th, 2021 at 10:20 PM ^
If that game made you eliminate UM as an option (and you were considering it beforehand), then my best guess is that you hate cold weather. Even Matt Leinart, the Heisman-winning QB at USC in the Pete Carroll glory years, recognized it as the best environment he has ever seen in college football. This is what goes for the big rivalry game in LA:
The weather, however, is very nice. Very different priorities. Tom Brady has had to play in some cold weather games in his career and I think he would say it was worth it.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:38 PM ^
As a guy who grew up in LA-San Fernando Valley, to be exact- LA fans are the ultimate fair weather fans (no pun intended). If you’re winning, fans show up. If not, they got other things to do. Unless you’re winning too much, and winning gets boring, then they don’t show up either.
November 30th, 2021 at 11:53 PM ^
Has nothing to do with the weather, but staying local with what they know. Culturally, recruits from SoCal don't understand the magnitude of football (or the people) in the southeast or midwest. To some extent, the fact that football isnt a top priority for people in SoCal may be appealing for some of these kids (less pressure).
December 1st, 2021 at 2:24 AM ^
Yeah, but the cheerleaders are still there.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
This is no surprise. Coaches gave it their best shot. Kid had a lot of opportunity to commit and the longer it dragged the less confident I became personally. I think this turns out to be Bama. USC on the list for home town respect. Winning 1 game won’t change us to instant attraction like Bama. Keep winning. Beat Iowa. Go to CFP. Win. Kids will come. Stepping stones. We can see the path upwards now.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:24 PM ^
Look, if he left us out of his final two after this weekend, then he was never going to pick us. Might as well let us move on to someone that wants to be here.
