I've had a few in my time…

I've had a few in my time but this is the one worth sharing:

When I was living in LA, I moved into a new building.  On my first day there, a very tall guy wearing a Detroit cap got onto the elevator with me.  We started talking about Detroit and Michigan in general.

Saw him again a few days later, mentioned that I grew up in Flint - he started calling me Flinttown.

Bumped into him on a Saturday while I was wearing my Michigan gear and he said "Go Blue" which is the moment I realized I was living next door to noneother than Jalen Rose.

In my defense, I'm a bit of an idiot.

I had completely forgotten…

I had completely forgotten he went to Carman - watching him on the basketball court truly brought the phrase "man among boys" to life.

Also took the BGS path…

Also took the BGS path because I wanted to take a diverse range of courses.

Took a couple of mindless corporate jobs post undergrad (my degree didn't come up once) but then worked my way into an Investment Banking gig where my wide range of interests and analytical ability allowed me to thrive.

10 years later, I was promoted to Managing Director and now spend most of my time managing our family office.

My only regret is having NOT taken language courses as I now live in a Spanish speaking territory.

That game is literally the…

That game is literally the only live college football game my wife has ever attended.

We were also sitting just behind that catch and it took a bit to sort out what happened as I thought initially we were just celebrating the penalty.

I have never had the heart to take her to a game since as that was the most exciting moment/night/game I'd ever seen (better than anything in the 1997 championship year)...

The best part of the night is that my sister and a few of her friends (ND grads) made the commute to watch the game.  That night is burned into her memory though in a very different manner.

I switched from Verizon to…

I switched from Verizon to Fi and haven't looked back.  Travel internationally quite a bit and I never bother to even look at costs - it's always cheap and reliable.

Cliche: long time lurker, first time poster here.

Life has been great these past few years, culminating last month when I learned that my wife is expecting (our first).
