He did get his punishment. A two game suspension. I feel like you guys are overblowing this whole thing just because it’s a rival. It’s a bad look, no doubt since he did break the rules. But you can’t give a death sentence of playing time because he borrowed money, which we assume was for flying his girlfriend to a bowl game. I can see that the “family friend” could be an agent considering the timeline, but has not been proven to be so. And have common sense that we all break rules in our daily lives and don’t deserve to severely punished for small infractions. He’s paying his due by sitting out 2 games and that’s appropriate in my opinion. I’m sure some of you might think it’s my OSU bias, but this is just common sense.

Even I'm an OSU fan realize…

Even I'm an OSU fan realize you're nit-picking. You can't always win in every thing, but you gotta give credit to the athletic program for it success, especially at a rigorous university.

Their highest rated player…

Their highest rated player is .98, which I think helps with the overall rating.

Yes I'm worried, because he…

Yes I'm worried, because he's never been a head coach. It only makes sense. At the same time, I'm glad we didn't go for a national search...doing that would have really hurt our recruiting class and would potentially change the style of offense we've been running. Urban and Ryan Day were pretty much on the same page, except Urban loved the more QB run element. Also Day has been an outstanding recruiter for the team. Helped us get Chris Olave (wink! wink!), made JT a better QB passer in 2017, developing Dwyane Haskins, and evolving out offense. So yes, I'm glad to have the Rosy Cheeked Assassin, Ryan Day. But I'm always going to be worried for every Michigan game as I have in past and hope we win, and I know we will win because because I trust in the players and coaches we have and that's all I can do. I have no control, just gotta wait see and what happens this season.

I understand the concern. I…

I understand the concern. I guess I still have PTSD from watching my team's defense play the way they did last season.

Forgive me for being too…

Forgive me for being too obsessed and commenting on a rival's fan forum, but I'm confused how you already trust in the Gattis offense when you haven't seen it in a full game - especially when you have more fate in that than Don Brown. Yes Don Brown's defense looks bad against good offense, but tell me what defense doesn't. I'd take him over what we (OSU) have right now. The only reason Michigan has been successful over the past few years is because of Don Brown. I'm still not sold Gattis, but obviously I could be wrong by the end of the season - but you can't really put Gattis over Don Brown before we've seen Game 1. If any part of the team has anything to prove, its the offense not the defense.

Wow! I'm actually glad…

Wow! I'm actually glad Michigan got this kid! I honestly didn't think Michigan could pull it off, considering their struggles on offense... I'm impressed. I really curious to see just how the rivalry with my buckeyes will go with Meyer gone.

Whatever makes you feel good…

Whatever makes you feel good about mocking me for being respectful on a rival's site. Peace out.

I really do appreciate that…

I really do appreciate that you guys didn't kill me for being on a Michigan like the others you guys make fun of being trolls. But yeah, I just think Michigan has the talent to compete at an elite level. I mean Oklahoma does this with the same level of talent as Michigan and they entered the playoffs more than my team has it shows. You have to adapt around your players and not be stubborn to run the stuff you want so much. I always knew Dwayne Haskins would be really good, but I always reserved to how Urban would use him, cause he loves the QB run so much. Thankfully Ryan Day is a guy who forced Urban to change his style against. It's literally the only reason we had success against you guys this years (on top of the fact that UM's defense didn't stop a crossing route that OSU ran literally all year, but I'm not complaining). I'm guessing this site has already talked so much about it, but a new OC that will force Jim to change would be the best way for fans to feel better about JIm (but that obviously depends to on Jim hiring a new OC).

Haha I knew this would…

Haha I knew this would happen. I mean its just a blog, not an essay.

(OSU fan here; my objective…

(OSU fan here; my opinion on Michigan football. Fans are always seeing things through their school lens, and there is nothing wrong with that.) This is going to quick things I see about Michigan, so please be light on my incoherent statements.

I see some fans worried about recruiting; I've always thought UM has pretty good players and its just their coaching that gets in the way. I like UM's receivers, because they remind me of Bama's with their physicality - but Jim needs to implement more easier routes that makes it easier for the oline in pass pro. Shea Patterson was really good when he transferred to UM, but I never saw him as threat, because I knew Jim would limit his style of play to his offense. Just compare his stats at Ole Miss vs UM. I will always be against Jim's offensive style - it takes up too much time - doesn't spread out defense - it the reason why they always get in low scoring games against MSU, who they should be easily blowing out like OSU or at least scoring more points. You guys will think I'm crazy, but I think Jim should change the offense or he should go. I've always been the same with Urban (as crazy as it sounds); in big games against UM, USC, Clemson, Oklahoma he would limit the offense with predictable 1st & 2nd down plays and should have started Dwyane over JT (but his loyalty to JT cost him, and even his job with the whole Zach Smith nonsense - I really hate Zach Smith). In my opinion, Jim has nothing beaten a good team or won a significant game against a team at its prime since Florida 2016, which shows how underachieving (in my opinion) Jim has being. Also Don Brown is really good against bad offenses, but I've noticed his defense are always lacking against equal or better talent (especially with good offenses); doesn't mean he should be fired, but that Michigan fans should never expect the tenacity they see against teams like Maryland vs teams like FSU 2016, OSU 2018, Penn State (with a healthy QB), or even Colorado 2016 (with a healthy QB of course). That means when UM is in a high scoring game like the OSU game and PSU game from last year, they must be able to match that intensity. Your defense will not be able to shutdown teams everygame, so the offense must be ready for shootouts when it needs to. That is my biggest reason why I think Jim needs to change or leave.

While I will always dislike UM, I still respect that you are fans and just want something to excited about and I can definitely understand that.

Yeah it was a strong take. I…

Yeah it was a strong take. I get that if he's fired, who the heck is the university supposed to get. Jim is literally part of school. BUT over time, if Jim doesn't change anything and result is still the same - he has to go. Just being real.

Haha! Bud, don't come at me,…

Haha! Bud, don't come at me, because I expect more from a guy that so revered when he was hired. When highly rated prospects decommit and look to schools like Bama and Georgia, its because they see better quality of play and teams winning big game - not beating up on Rutgers and teams on their down year. Michigan had two chances to show off his talents against the only good teams with similar or better talents and they lost both. No one is denying that he made the program better, but after his 4th year and he doesn't even have a crucial win since the bowl game against Florida back in 2015. Say what you want, but I believe Michigan will not be able to beat OSU or win a significant game (that counts towards a championship) until it changes they way it attacks the really good teams. Jim bring in a 5 star Qb transfer that ways hyped all off-season, because of he played at Ole Miss, new o-line, wr, strength and conditioning coach - still nothing changed. With the talent that Michigan has on the current roster, it should be able to win a big game and I will never believe Jim can do it till I see it. In today's football, its not just about your record, its about who you beat. Have fun enjoying mediocrity.

You can turn a thee star to…

You can turn a thee star to a four star? Um... that's not how the human body works, bud. (I'm about to go on a rant here). All Michigan has to do is improve its offensive scheme or Jim has to go. No one wants to admit it that while the program has improved under him, he is also holding it back from unleashing its talents. And Don Brown's defense is a one-trick pony. When the defense faces a team with offensive talents, the defense always wilts. Jim has not beaten a good Big 10 team at its prime since Jim has arrived. It's not only about talent, because there is enough, it's also about coaching and Jim absolutely sucks against really good teams. No one cares about a bad Michigan State he beat twice, or an injured Penn State he also beat twice, or the close loss to OSU in 2016 (when their oline and passing game was garbage all year). Promoting the use of PED makes no sense to me.

Lol even if your point…

Lol even if your point should be taken seriously, where is your proof of this. Michigan loses a 5 star recurit to Bama and you've magically been doing data on this. I'm not saying your lying, but this sure seems very convenient.

Yeah we anoint him, because…

Yeah we anoint him, because all we've had are running QBs.. so this like heaven to us. Watch Dwayne Haskins deep ball and out-route passes and tell me how he is not accurate. I'll take back he belief that he is more accurate than Shea, because I really only watch the ND and Western Micigan game, so I don't really know how accurate he is.

(OSU Fan here)

Um... I…

(OSU Fan here)

Um... I guess the only game you've watched is Penn State OSU game to determine how good Haskins is. Haskins is a really accuratae QB who wasn't ready to face a tough road environment like Penn State and can't run for shit, the OC decided to run screen plays because PSU decided there were going to blitz every play and the offense was having trouble communicating. Haskins is a better passer than Shea Patterson (who I think is good, but still wish he was play spread offense than Harbaugh's pro style). Also PFF is garbage when it comes to college football. How in the world does Hornibrook have the best grade?

Yeah you should probably…

Yeah you should probably watch his highlight against Indiana this past weekend. He's good

Lol, you don't have to…

Lol, you don't have to attack me because I'm a buckeye fan. I don't know what the hell happens behind closed door, but I'd like to think coaches aren't paying bunch of 5 stars to their team. I just find it odd how successful Georgia has done the past two years without doing much till reaching the national championship last year. I always thought Clemson would be that team to compete on that level with OSU and Alabama.

An an Ohio State fan, I…

As an Ohio State fan, I really feel like Georgia has figured out a masterfully recruiting plan that no has yet. I'm so used to OSU getting really good players, but Gerogia has hit gold with their State having so many 5 star prospects and being able to flips guys from other schools. The weird part to me is that Georgia hadn't had much success to the level of OSU, Clemson, and Alabama before last year and all of a sudden they had the best class...something about it does seem odd.

So I'm supposed to take in…

So I'm supposed to take in whatever a random article on ESPN as fact that OSU fans are ignorant to this case. Screw that! As a fan of OSU football, all I want is to watch our football team win. There is nothing wrong about that...that's whys we all cheer for our favorites sport teams. From my standpoint and many people I know, the situation was hard to deal with, because it was difficult to parse hit pieces against Urban's past from his handling and knowledge of domestic violence allegation against Zach Smith. If this was any other job, Urban would have been fired for keeping a guy with so much off the job issues (not including the allegations)... but I believe it was fair that he was suspended those game (we all know sports is very unique from regular job positions). I wish Urban had done a better job with handling Zach's behavior. The one part that still leaves me conflicted is the abuse claims. I still don't get how the police gets involein nand find to reason to place charges or arrest Zach...which tells me it was not as simple as a abuse going. The thing is we don't know and we may never know. I know some of you with always hate Urban, our school, and our fans regardless, I just ask that realize that OSU fans are not some filthy people with nor morals ot our program is the same. We're all human, and seeing the post from espn really hurts because it attempts to blame the OSU culture as a evil one.

DreMont Jones is a projected…

DreMont Jones is a projected 1st rounder this year, Chase Young is also projected a 1st rounder next year.

LOL, this is a joke! Let the…

LOL, this is a joke! Let the players sell their shoes. Who gives a fuck! My goodness collegiate sports rules are sometimes just stupid asf.

Yes the children of Smith…

Yes the children of Smith and Courtney are the victims. Mosult likely Courtney as well....I still don't believe a word of what Zach Smith told ESPN about not hitting her. What's digusting is the Michigan fans calling for the firing of Urban Meyer like they have all the facts in front of them.

I just want to say some of…

OSU fan here

I just want to say some of what you Michigan fans are saying is just digusting. Some of you don't give a shit about the kids who are the real victims on the situation, all you care about is FIRE EVERYBODY. Ohio State is a rival and I can understand the disdain you have towards the program, but claiming people should just lose their jobs because alleged claims and not facts is just digusting. I'm not saying Urban is clean in the case, as a matter of fact I want the university to make sure nothing immoral was taking place within the program and fire anyone taking part in serious rule breaking and negligence. In this case, none of us if Urban truly ignore the situation with Zach Smith. He and his wife were obviously close to the family, but if Urban truly reported this to the higher upa...then there nothing Urban has left to do, but his primary job as head football coach. He is not an investigator. If he is lying and it shows that he never reported the incidents, then fire him. The only part I don't have much knowledge on is whether Smith should have been kept on staff. I now that the police didn't press charges against Smith, so initially I thought the university wouldn't have to muchnsince the police didn't have enough to press charges. If the NCAA requires the school to still possibly fire Smith (which wouldn't make sense, because you would be firing a guy who was guilty in the eyes of the police) then I can understand outrage of why he was kept on the staff. I really want to discuss this is level headed Michigan fans, not some of you just spouting nonsense. I woildwou want to wish this on any program....I felt this same way with MSU and their head coaches. Firing someone due to allegations is reckless.

OSU fan here....looking at…

OSU fan here....looking at Michigan's schedule (objectively), I see a 10-2 season with loss to ND (1st game on the road at night) and OSU (just cuz, but also it's on the road and OSU will be amped up for the game..I think Dwyane Haskins may be a good counter to Michigan's man blitz defense). The schedule is just too hard and filled with trap games (Northwestern, Nebraska-sorta)

Yeah I can see the…

Yeah I can see the frustration...I had a feeling he might commit to OSU when I noticed we were his last visit...but still thought he was 100% to Michigan. I think the difference here is that we have a new coaching staff that turned around a very lacking roster and depth and pulled off a great season...and even with the postseason failure, fans had a sense of change in the program and how great coach Holtmann in-game coaching was. I also think Holtmann's credibility he built at Butler could have been instrumental in DJ'd recruitment. From what I've heard from your fanbases, it seems like losing him is not a big hit to the depth at PG.

That's a lame take? I mean…

That's a lame take? I mean without Don Brown, what is Michigan? What is coach Harbaugh?

(fyi, OSU fan here)

I'll try to be respectful in…

I'll try to be respectful in my comment knowing that this is a space intended for Michigan fans. The sentiment some of you guys have towards the recruitment is just funny. Some of you are trying to spin it into this idea that Zach Harrison's favorite school is Michigan and the ONLY reason OSU is in play is because his parents favor OSU. This narrative would set up nicely if he chose OSU, for some on you claim that the kid didn't follow his HEART, but feel for the pressure of his family. None of us really know anything about this recruitment, since the kid is so quiet about it. I've read the articles and interviews of him, and I truly believe has an interest in Michigan, Penn State, and Ohio State. I always thought that living 15 min away from campus was a detractor, since he would have liked to go to a school a bit further from home. As an OSU fan, I think it would suck for him to go to Michigan or Penn State...and I know there will be crazy fan who talk bad about the kid and decision (like every other fan-base has)

Alright, you discovered my…

Alright, you discovered my lies. Tbh I'm just going off what I remember band what I see from Michigan time to time. I really don't know all the players on MichigansM roster. All I know is Bama back are usually really big with physical, but Michigan's are (according to you guys) physical, but definitely speedy too. Honestly now that I think of it, it's Karan Higdon that I base my analysis from. Also i didn't mean that as a negative...just that it Zach seems like a difediffe back to me from what I've seen as Michigan.

I'm not going to say say…

I'm not going to say say negative things about a specific player.

From UM's commitment, I really Mazi Smith, Zach Carpenter, and David Ojabo.

I will say the Zach Charbonnet feels like a weird fit for Michigan (not that he is overrated). The guy is 6'2, 215 lb... this is literally the type of guys that Bama likes to use to just maul defenders over. It feels a bit different from what I've seen you guys have under Harbaugh... which is usually smaller speedy back.

Your first & second point is…

Your first & second point is true... I was just going off the names I remember recently (just trying to make a point to STRINGER BELL's comment as though osu and psu were going after alot of guys that eventually committed to Michigan.

Your third point about saying my opinion that some of the Michigan's commitments are overrated.... it's just my feeling on some players (I really don't want to call out player individually - nothing something I would want to do to young guys that are probably reading this forum). In short, I'm  not that impressed with the back-end of the defense so far. Don't my lame assessment to heart. I know I could be wrong (I mean, still kinda salty we didn't get Jake Butt - who ended who being a great player.

I'm an OSU fan (just in case…

I'm an OSU fan (just in case anyone is wondering, not trying to hide and act like I'm a Michigan fan)

Not trying to bag on…

Not trying to bag on Michigan's class (since this year's class is down from past years.. so a high 3 star and any 4 star makes no difference to me). Although if were are just going to go by just numbers... the only players Michigan has committed that OSU wanted was David Ojabo and somewhat Eric Gray (someone they didn't really push hard for). OSU and Michigan are just recruiting different types of players for their scheme, so we don't usually fight for the same players. I know I'm not analyst, but I think some of Michigan's commit are overrated, but considering their rankings, they couldn't go wrong by choosing to going to Michigan to get developed and have a better chance of getting drafted.

Having following OSU's…

Having following OSU's recruiting for some time now, coach Urban has been leaning towards high character players (when finding players outside of Ohio) who are also highly rated. On the other hand, he just picks the best players from the state of Ohio. I don't think there is any insanely strict education requirement, like maybe Michigan has (which I don't know). I've also noticed that some OSU has been staying away from the really cocky players (except Tate Martell, who matured within after year in the program). There is a running joke that we now recuit players with the best names (Master League, Steele Chambers, Nicholas Petit-Frere, Tyler Friday, Kamryn Babb)

I see Michigan going at…

I see Michigan going at least 10-3 (losing to ND, MSU, OSU) and at most 10-2 (losing to ND, OSU)

Losing to ND, because it's a the game 1 on the road (AT NIGHT!)

Losing to MSU, because it will be after a physical Wisconsin game the week before (I can see Michigan winning this still)

Losing to OSU, because it's at OSU after an Indiana game that is usually a dogfight for Michigan (and I'm a biased OSU fan when it come to this matchup)

They only way I see Michigan going 11-1 or 12-0 is with an extraordinary performance by Shea Patterson.

I actually grew in TN and I'm a current student at OSU.

(Please don't attack me…

(Please don't attack me cause I'm an OSU fan on Michigan's page. I just enjoy reading football..that's all)

No but yeah... I agree with you. It's cool to make criticisms of your team, but when all you post are just the bad things about your team...you are a delusional fan who thinks your program must be perfect. Teams lose out on players every time...my Buckeyes lost player to Clemson, Georgia, Florida, and Florida State (3 of which where committed guys). Michigan only had one bad season with a young team and qb injury problems (like Maryland) (losing to MSU, Penn State and Ohio State, and Wisconsin is respectable - should have won at least one of those games....losing to South Carolina is what can drive a fanbase crazy, but even then I kinda expected to happen, because you guys were bringing a third string who didn't have a lot of game action in the regular season.

As a Buckeye fan, I've been…

As a Buckeye fan, I've been following this site for a while just to get a feel of what how our rivals view OSU (despite the obvious dislike for OSU). I will be upfront that inwnjoy nothing more than seeing OSU beat Michigan every year, but I'm also objective about both teams when they don't play each other. This guy (Bluey) cracks me up so bad, since I started reading recently. At first I thought he just didn't like the recruting level of Mochigan, but after this post... I think this guy might need to take some time off the internet and just anything related to football.
