The top 3 players from FAU are set to be graduate transfers hopefully they decide to follow him.   Guard Johnell Davis looks to be a great player 18 points a game and shoots41% from 3.  2nd guy is a 7 foot 1 inch center who averaged almost 16 points 7 reb with 2 blocks. Best games seem to be in the tournaments.   3rd guy has averaged 14 as a soph and 13plus a game last 2 years. Shoots many 3s at a decent clip.

It was mostly a joke. All jokes have a shred of truth, the shred of truth in this one is they did lose to NW which isnt exactly a B1G powerhouse and that I didn't realize how awful FAU was before he joined and preferred the other options in Brian's top 4. But the more people have dug into him the more he sounds like new Beilein and I'm excited about the hire.

Seems like a solid hire. Hope he can handle the pressure and expectations that come with big-time college basketball. Although he's had a lot of success over the past few years, FAU didn't really play anyone, night in and night out. His recruiting and coaching acumen will be tested in the Big-Ten. I wanted Warde to pull the brinks truck up and make Jay Wright or Calipari an offer they couldn't refuse. But, I think Michigan and Warde have grown tired of coaches who's persona's loom bigger than him or the program itself. Love Harbaugh and I wish he had stayed but I think pandering to him for so long left a bad taste in the mouth of Michigan and it's fans, and Warde really didn't want any parts of another one. I'll be rooting for Ol' Dusty, Go Blue!!!!!

"FAU didn't really play anyone, night in and night out."

The AAC was the 9th best conference in the NET this year and FAU played, TAMU, Arizona, Illinois in the non-con, as well as teams like Butler and Va Tech

" I wanted Warde to pull the brinks truck up and make Jay Wright or Calipari an offer"

So two guys that absolutely were not coming to UM?

I'm not mad at the hire either as I stated previously. I knew that a handful of folks would find a way to make my entire post about Calipari or Jay Wright when it's really not. While I'm sure those guys seem to think this is a slam dunk hire, I'm not convinced of that yet. Because the two guys I mentioned have track records of winning on the biggest stages possible (including having won championships), I would have loved to have had one of them instead. We can agree to disagree about whether my guys or their guy is a better coach or if FAU playing Rice, NTSA, N. Texas and Tulane is top notch competition, night in and night out. I think most people would would say I'm correct and some of you are high on K2. The point was that although I'm not convinced and I would have liked for them to go after others using the money cannon, I support UM either way it goes and I will be rooting for Dusty.

You'd be surprised at what people are willing do if enticed properly. Ask Harbaugh why he came to Michigan and why he left. Ask Wink Martindale why he came out of retirement . . . A million dollars more per year, is a lot of money.. Money talks and Bull-Shit walks.

Harbaugh came through to what he promised, He delivered us a national championship. It is so rare to get the job done in the BCS and the 4 team playoff format. If may be easier in the 12 team format. But Harbaugh completed his mission here and wanted to try the NFL again.

I agree that that was a part of it. The other part of it was that some in UM circles thought he had too much power and was glad to see him go because he was seen as a diva who threatened their own job security. I don't think they would dare hire someone else with that type of presence. They're probably happier he's gone than he is.

And Balas is saying it wasn't money.

It was the alumni network and support, it was Beilein joining Warde, it was Santa going all in, and it was the vision Warde shared about the program.

Also it wasn't an 11th hour thing, they met with Warde at 10am yesterday.

...so acting like Michigan just paid him more money is stupid. People have already reported it was much more than that.
