A quick but scenic and fun stop along the way if you're in the SE PA area is the Battle of the Brandywine, the largest battle of the Revolutionary War.
Washington’s position was airtight until it wasn't, don't want to spoil too much for you. All the other recs, especially Antietam are on point. Gettysburg is well worth a second, third, and forth look. So much to see
I believe it is because someone made the decision that Frames Janklin is more befitting than James Franklin due to unconventional decision-making while coaching football games
Is it ok for residents of the United States to call their president incompetent? Of course it is. The man is entitled to his opinion, you are entitled to disagree with it
In addition, the vast majority of OSU undergrads are from the greater Columbus area or within a two-hour drive. Michigan has a large population of out of state folk; Michigan student attendance is affected far greater than OSU re: Thanksgiving weekend
Nowhere in the post will you find "I am happy with moral victories", so I am not certain where your comment is coming from. It is quite possible to be a fan and not live and die by results, they are not mutually exclusive.
Happy Marine Corps birthday coming up in Nov to you
I mean, sure, with college football. I don't hold much clout with the powers that be at my alma mater, maybe you do? Maybe your opinion carries water with big donors and the AD. Mine doesn't count for squat.
Other areas of my life, and likely yours, are anything but mediocre. I've just yet to see how all this angst pays off in the form of change on the gridiron
I don't know if they have bagmen, nor do I know if they use PEDs. I know Penn State is pretty corrupt, and I know Wisconsin has a proven system that they adhere to, and it works (and they play in the West).
We've traded blows with them pretty well since Harbaugh arrived. OSU, not so much. What do we do about the salaries and the less than stellar gameplans of our coaches? I don't disagree with your criticism. I was right there with you on Saturday, and many others over the past 20 years. Perhaps you and I got into the wrong business. Maybe we could do a better job? I'm sure Warde, like Dave, would love to hear our thoughts. I don't know man. Fuck it, lets go bowling
I am not going to say it will lead to entitlement for you. I will say that when those expectations aren't met, regardless of the changing environment around the program, the "Where's my trophy" brigade marches through town with their pitchforks clamoring for the next coaching change.
Like Mad Matt says below, we want three things: Athletes who can bear the academic load, no bagmen or steroids, and win some championships. It's almost impossible to do those things and win big to meet expectations
There have been a lot of comparisons. This one has good data. Interesting how the offensive outputs have been nearly identical. It’s not like we don’t have talent; just a matter of can these players and coaches synch with whatever they decide they are going to run?
Not sure why you are catching flak for this post, unless people are connecting it with previous posts of yours. Independent of other 'things of interest' you drop on the blog, I found this noteworthy. Also, I am not confident that had we visited Madison 2011-2015 (maybe 2011) we would've done anything to change the streak
He was the guy in junior high (college) who was bigger, faster and stronger than everyone and then everyone else caught up to him by senior year of high school (nfl). He's basically the same QB today that he was when he entered the league
Surprisingly not the big ones- 2007 Oregon. I was 23, living in Columbus and came home for the game thinking we were going to come out with a vengeance. 3 quarters later I almost got in a fight with OU fans at Skeeps (who were minding their own business) and then five mins later I nearly fought my own group of friends. Terribly embarrassing.
And of course 2013 Penn State- literally couldn't believe my eyes. Thank god I was alone for that one by some miracle. iPhone- stupid formatting
My issue with Stafford was his response to a question about whether or not he needs a QB guru/mentor to work with:
“Probably not,” Stafford said. “It’s not something that I feel would be my style or beneficial to me.” Link
Really? Elite performers in business and sports always look outside of their own four walls to gain an edge- unless they think they've arrived. Dude doesn't think he needs to work; that his natural talent is enough. He's wrong
Knock it off with your rational thoughts. Serious question: They called it Tressel Ball for a reason. Isn't he a bit on the conservative side? I understand he's a "great" coach* but as far as offensive philosopy I wonder if this is a good fit?
I applaud your spirit in defending your opinion.
That being said, why don't you call it a day and chalk this one up to being an over-sensitive, hysterical little prick who needs affirmation on a Michigan sports forum. I hope this doesn't get misconstrued as passive-aggressive.
Apologies of course, wayyyy OT. Two friends backed out of Tuesday's JT & Jay-Z concert @ Ford Field. 2 tickets, sect. 125 for $125 each. Also would consider trading for tickets to UM football. Email is [email protected]

I don't think anyone is denying his potential or talent... They have both always been there. His problem is his mentality. I could never put my finger on it until this article: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000304705/article/matthew-stafford-doesnt-want-to-work-with-qb-guru
