It doesn't matter how much time was on the playclock, Gardner had to leave the field for 1 play after losing his helmet. Leaving the field for 1 play can be avoided by calling a timeout.
Lots of reasons to dislike Hoke and his QB management, time left on the clock to get Gardner back in is not one of them.
In my perception, Taylor and Peppers were the top two corners, and Countess was overrated as a man defender. Take away the top two young corners, we don't have much in the way of experience. You're counting on Countess, who hasn't looked like a world-beater following his injury and people who haven't proven themselves. The rest of the defense played pretty darn well, given the position they were put in.
Dude. No. I wasn't there for the original app state game, but the mood leaving Akron was an irritated/disheartened "that shouldn't have been that close, maybe we aren't that good, but I wasn't expecting the Rose bowl anyway." Going from national championship aspirations in 07 to losing to a double A school in the first game... That was a mental collapse in expectations. That was the Horror. Today was constant fear of another collapse since the game was announced up until about the first quarter ended.
The school (particularly the administration) appeal to the Limbaugh crowd for donations, but very little of the instruction or student body conversations have the political bombastery of his show.
I've seen too many reports of every matchup being something we can't handle, only for the team to rise to the occasion. I have faith in the players and coaches to pull off unbelievable things.
Just to continue my entrance to mgoblog as a grammar nazi, I approve the appropriate use of the word "however," in the last sentence of the post. As a post-positive, it should not be used to begin a sentence. It should, however, be used to qualify a previous statement. This is the first time I've seen the word used appropriately in years, even season reporters frequently flub its use.

Looks like me trying to play QWOP.
They have a contract with Microsoft Surface, and are not allowed to use iPads at least on the sideline. Even if the announcers can't get it straight.

I may have misinterpretted the intent of the point, which I thought was, "why would you need a timeout?"
Personally, when I saw Bellomy scrambling, I started calling for a wildcat formation, or a direct snap to Norfleet.

Seemed like you had it right the first time.

Should be a laugher. It'll be a good one to watch Andrew Dakich dominate for 35 minutes.
can last for another half hour or so.
I've got Dayton outscoring Ohio and then beating the Syracuse zone. That's what billion dollar dreams are made of.
You have to love Denard, Kovacs and Hoke back together again.
was glorious. I couldn't help but smile.
Glad to see we're on top of Iowa and Wisconsin. I can understand being behind MSU, given our extra losses.
is when we use intelligent words appropriately, but spell them incorrectly.
Could you please direct me to early? Which way?

Looks to me like "go for effing two, get it."
