I've been going to games since birth, have sat in all kinds of different sections and rows and I am dead serious... NO BAD SEATS!! I've been to every B1G stadium and many non-conference games. You want a bad seat, go sit in the upper deck at Penn State... players look like ants.... Go to the Shitshoe and watch a game with a pole right in your view the entire time.
Vogrich, Horford, Staukas, and Spike will be main contributors off the bench. Early on in the season expect to see Akune, McLimans, Caris, and Bielfeldt get minutes, but those will slowly dwindle away as the season goes on.
I expect Spike to play significant minutes during most of the season, which will probably mean Burke's individual numbers fall some but he should be much fresher in March. Last year he was running on fumes.

DB is just being a tight whad. Either that or he blew the money by putting a committee together to deside if we should have a mascot or not....
I came here because reading Scout after signing day up until fall practice starts is boring (spring practice not included). I actually would visit this site but it seemed like to much to read and a lot of inside jokes that I didn't get. But I read more and more, and discovered that the people posting on MGoBoard had similar interests and sense of humor. Then gradually started reading everything, then gradually posting, now I visit the site 30 times a day at work.
Every work day starts like this......Turn on computer, open work email, open personal email, open mgoblog....
I have tried to get all of my Michigan slappy friends to read the site as much as I do but I have had no success with this.
I also have an email thread daily with about 6 guys, 3 Mich fans/3 Spartan queers.... Spartan queers give the site no credibility when i link things from here and that really annoys me because it will be on scout within 15 minutes. They probably give it no credibility because they are Spartan queers.
Play those games on THIS WEEKEND, first weekend in Dec.
The losing teams would still go to BCS bowls, winners would play in Semi finals at other BCS bowl sites, obvioulsy those would rotate like they do now. Play those games on News Years Day (or Jan. 2 like this year). Then play your National Championship game just like you do now on Jan 10th-ish.
A few things would have to happen for this format to work. First either go back to playing 11 games or start the season a week sooner. Both have been done before. The Pigskin Classic (Michigan vs. Virginia, 1995) was always played a week before everyone else started playing. Do that if you insist on still have 12 game schedules so UMass can get a paid day from Michigan and Furman can get one from Alabama. Or just simply go back to playing 11 games, which is enough anyways.

Going in I thought very highly of Bacon and after reading the book I feel even more confident that what I read is the closest I will get to the truth of what has went down in the past 3 years. Bacon has always been very factual and true about Michigan football. Whether its opinions or quotes in his book, either one holds alot more weight to me then something writen by Sharp, Album, or Regner. Bacon has never took sides with any coach. That's why the things said about Lloyd Carr in this book I think are true, and embarrassing. Bacon has no reason to attack Carr. Carr spoke to his classes and before this book never casted Lloyd in a negative light.
There was some shocking things I read in this book and somethings that I figured were true and this book just reaffirmed them with me. The most shocking thing of all to me in this book, is also the #1 reason why I believe it to be the most factual and true..... Bacon's access to the program in the last 3 years has been unreal. Coaches meetings, player meetings, lunches, phone call conversations, recruiting, media, etc. It was unbelieveable that in this day an age a media member could get such access. Unless there is a ghost living in Schemmy Hall, Bacon is the only one who can give you the most truth about what has happened to our program in the last 3 years.... and i believe he does that in a very truthful and factual way.
I go to all home games with my brother and 2 cousins. For big road games we like to watch the game together because we are crazy and its like nothing you have ever seen before. Its really as close to being at the game as you could get.
All tables and any other breakables are moved into a different room. We stand and scream as if we are there. But it has to be just the 4 of us, or someone we tailgate with. Maximum 2 others.... but they have to understand us. Nothing is worse then yelling at the Defense to get a stop and having someone glare at your like you are wierd.... shut up! This is my sickness, I LOVE MICHIGAN FOOTBALL MORE THEN ANYTHING SO STOP STARING AT ME!!!!

The fact that the 3 Point line has been moved back makes no difference what so ever to these shooters. They shoot so many of them also that believe me they dont even notice the change. Beilein gets guys that are good shooters and it def doesnt effect recruiting. You can tell good shooting by mechanics, ball rotation, how quickly they get their shot off, etc.
Poole seems more ready to contribute right away then Frost would have needed. They both need to put some muscle but Poole just seems closer and looks alot better on film. He looks like a total beast actually. I thought Frost' leadership was a huge strong point, but I'd rather have a guy from Ohio who hates that one school.
In my mind Poole is upgrade from what we would have had in Frost.
Michigan winning championships is more important then me being able to tell my buddies "I told ya so...." We should all keep that in mind even though some of us would rather have RR.

I applaud WDFN compared to 97.1 (Spartan Nation) because at least DFN will try to hear it from the horses mouth instead of just making there own wild ass, "this is what i think" predictions based on nothing. On Braylon and the #1 is that Braylon is really a baby about the whole thing. No one before him ever had to "earn" the #1. He wanted it right when he got to Michigan, but since he was not a huge recruit and kind of an unknown they Lloyd said No, but that he could earn it.

So yes Braylon has made it impossible for a few reasons. One RR is terrified to give it out to anyone as a freshman, which has been caused by Braylon. So now players have to earn it and even then RR will still be affraid to give it out. Braylon needs to stop being so bitter that the coaches made him "earn it". Because before him, it was given to incoming players who the coaches felt would be great WR's.
Kovacs shouldnt be anywhere near the line of scrimage. The player in the spot you have him needs to be able to get off blocks, Kovacs is brutal at this because hes so small. Talk "Former" Walk-On all you want with him.... he will always be an undersized walk on. Does he plug holes? Sure. Does he tackle well? At times. Does he get dragged 3-5 yards on most tackles? YEP! Thats why he sucks, sorry to burst your obvious Kovacs Man Love Bubble.
Its stupid to think that Carvin or Thomas Gordon will start all year, then go to not playing. Why are we moving Woolfolk to Safety? Thats stupid too, Avery and Tallbot, or Cam with another year under his belt.... I'll take Cam over those two. We need contributions from players like Furman, Herron, and does anyone else think M. Jones is to small to play LB besides me?
Your front 3 on 85% of downs next year better be RVB, Martin, Black. Ash and Q are short yardage players next season.
The fact that in 2 years were going to be able to debate on who should start and where compared to this year and even last year when we didnt have any other options, is a huge positive.

then stay home and watch the game on TV. You ever been to Ohio State? Iowa? Penn State? These fans dont sit, hell even last year when I went to EL for the game, no one in my section sat the entire time. You should be standing most of the game, sit down during TV time outs. Watch an SEC game, and see how many people you see sitting on their butts all day. Stadiums all across the country never sit, and are loud the entire game. Especially if Michigan is on Defense, you should be standing and making as much noise as possible.
I would encourage more people to stand and make as much noise as possible. The "down in front" people drive me nuts and do nothing to help any home field advantage we might have. You dont want to stand at a football game between Michigan and MSU..... stay home.
sucks. Its terrible, I was so amped for it on opening day the last 2 years and for the Ohio State game last year... Not enough people go, the whole band isnt there. I just think its ran terribly. Everyone stands around for the team to walk by and they just dart in... Should make a narrower tunnel for them to walk through so it increases fan interaction like you see in the South with their walks. I mean would it hurt if the team stood there and the band played the Victors once and we cheered and sang together? Great idea but it needs to be juiced up a little more, if not id rather play the Victors from my tailgate and enjoy my beer.
Michigan vs Penn State so downplayed. I consider PSU to be almost like a 4th rivalry. Since they joined the Big 10, we have had 3 Top 5 match ups, a last second win (which was PSU only loss), another late 4th quarter comeback in Happy Valley lead by Brady, and an OT game. Why is it more important that we play Minnesota for a jug? Because we didnt play for 2 seasons, big deal. Big Ten needs to stop complicating things... East/West

I always was a huge diehard who followed recruiting, but since RR has came to Michigan my friends have been asking me more and more about recruiting and different players, so I think everyone is more interested.

Scout has him listed as a DT, but right now he is only 220 lbs.?

I applaud WDFN compared to 97.1 (Spartan Nation) because at least DFN will try to hear it from the horses mouth instead of just making there own wild ass, "this is what i think" predictions based on nothing. Thats why 97.1 never has interviews or guests on their shows. It was Ryan Field filling in for Sean Baligian, would have loved to hear Sean interview DB, Sean is the best.
On Braylon and the #1 is that Braylon is really a baby about the whole thing. No one before him ever had to "earn" the #1. He wanted it right when he got to Michigan, but since he was not a huge recruit and kind of an unknown they Lloyd said No, but that he could earn it.
David Terrell walked in and on Day 1 was handed the #1 Jersey. Did he earn it?
Derrick Alexander same thing, did he earn it?
How about my favorite.... Tyrone Butterfield..... he sure as hell didnt earn it. After him I believe the coaches said, we have to know you're going to be a stud before we give this number out.
So yes Braylon has made it impossible for a few reasons. One RR is terrified to give it out to anyone as a freshman, which has been caused by Braylon. So now players have to earn it and even then RR will still be affraid to give it out. Braylon needs to stop being so bitter that the coaches made him "earn it". Because before him, it was given to incoming players who the coaches felt would be great WR's.

Kovacs shouldnt be anywhere near the line of scrimage. The player in the spot you have him needs to be able to get off blocks, Kovacs is brutal at this because hes so small. Talk "Former" Walk-On all you want with him.... he will always be an undersized walk on. Does he plug holes? Sure. Does he tackle well? At times. Does he get dragged 3-5 yards on most tackles? YEP! Thats why he sucks, sorry to burst your obvious Kovacs Man Love Bubble.
Its stupid to think that Carvin or Thomas Gordon will start all year, then go to not playing. Why are we moving Woolfolk to Safety? Thats stupid too, Avery and Tallbot, or Cam with another year under his belt.... I'll take Cam over those two. We need contributions from players like Furman, Herron, and does anyone else think M. Jones is to small to play LB besides me?
Your front 3 on 85% of downs next year better be RVB, Martin, Black. Ash and Q are short yardage players next season.
Guys dont redshirt when they are soph's and junior's. Maybe in your NCAA 2011 Dynasty you do that, but not in real life.
The fact that in 2 years were going to be able to debate on who should start and where compared to this year and even last year when we didnt have any other options, is a huge positive.
Hope to see Furman, Kellen Jones, Walls, and Byron Moore in this starting lineup.
Jernigan and DePreist wouldnt look bad in that lineup either.

then stay home and watch the game on TV. You ever been to Ohio State? Iowa? Penn State? These fans dont sit, hell even last year when I went to EL for the game, no one in my section sat the entire time. You should be standing most of the game, sit down during TV time outs. Watch an SEC game, and see how many people you see sitting on their butts all day. Stadiums all across the country never sit, and are loud the entire game. Especially if Michigan is on Defense, you should be standing and making as much noise as possible.
I would encourage more people to stand and make as much noise as possible. The "down in front" people drive me nuts and do nothing to help any home field advantage we might have. You dont want to stand at a football game between Michigan and MSU..... stay home.
sucks. Its terrible, I was so amped for it on opening day the last 2 years and for the Ohio State game last year... Not enough people go, the whole band isnt there. I just think its ran terribly. Everyone stands around for the team to walk by and they just dart in... Should make a narrower tunnel for them to walk through so it increases fan interaction like you see in the South with their walks. I mean would it hurt if the team stood there and the band played the Victors once and we cheered and sang together? Great idea but it needs to be juiced up a little more, if not id rather play the Victors from my tailgate and enjoy my beer.
Michigan vs Penn State so downplayed. I consider PSU to be almost like a 4th rivalry. Since they joined the Big 10, we have had 3 Top 5 match ups, a last second win (which was PSU only loss), another late 4th quarter comeback in Happy Valley lead by Brady, and an OT game. Why is it more important that we play Minnesota for a jug? Because we didnt play for 2 seasons, big deal. Big Ten needs to stop complicating things... East/West

I always was a huge diehard who followed recruiting, but since RR has came to Michigan my friends have been asking me more and more about recruiting and different players, so I think everyone is more interested.
I pray to god they dont get rid of RR no matter what happens this season. Because when we are nasty as hell in 2 years I dont want to hear its because we brought in Harbaugh or Miles..
Think about that D in 2 years... Roh, Campbell, Ash, Black....Jones, Demens or Hawthorne, Robinson....Floyd, Buc-Nasty, Gordon or Vlad, Furman.
Also Denard and Tate's senior season.
