He’s a good player and I’m…

He’s a good player and I’m not going to hate on him, but no.

I prefer trail running for…

I prefer trail running for the same reasons. I like that trail running puts a premium on physical and mental toughness, strategy, and focus, rather than natural running ability/speed (which I am not overly blessed with). Also, trail runners are just a little "off", in the best way. They are a very fun crowd to engage with. The difference in atmosphere between a road race to a trail race is night and day.

So discouraging to see M fans bailing w/ +3 minutes left. Sparty fans have taken over Chrysler.

I don't see much posted on…

I don't see much posted on this thread about basketball tickets, but I figure I'll give this a shot before paying the extra fees.

I'm looking for 3 tickets to the Staee game on the 17th. My son and I have close birthdays (mine is the 17th) and wants to take us to the game as a joint gift.

I agreed to a dry January w/ the MGoWife, except for the Rose Bowl and tonight, because obviously…. Beyond that I’ll be sitting at the right end of my couch wearing the same Michigan hat, tshirt, socks, hoodie, and maize and blue unmentionables that would make Magic Mike blush (definitely not for public consumption but it’s a thing). Hat will be backwards and only turned around if things aren’t going right.

Not proud to admit it, but…

Not proud to admit it, but mine would likely give yours, or anyone’s, a run for their money. Kudos to you MGoFriend. Wear with discomfort and pride. Natty or bust.

There’s no magic hack to…

There’s no magic hack to this. It’s going to be a crazy mess. Just walk back to Pasadena with everyone else. Setup a meeting place at least a few blocks from the Parsons lot. If you’re ride has patience they can get there early and wait for you.

There are shuttles that run…

There are shuttles that run from the Parson Complex parking lot in Pasadena to the stadium. I took my son to the game last year and my wife dropped us off to catch a shuttle, but we had plenty of time and it was just easier to walk. Just follow the sea of humanity and pack a couple beers for the walk (law enforcement didn't seem to care).

I don't see GR South taking…

I don't see GR South taking D4. The best matchup in D4 will be regional finals against Whitehall, just like last year. This year it will be played at Whitehall, and that team is loaded.

I have some connections to…

I have some connections to this young man and have see him compete in all 3 sports (fb, bb, track). He's a great person and  definitely has some unique physical characteristics that are intriguing, but I don't see him ever developing into a player that can contribute at the B1G level. He is very raw as an athlete. His competition is fairly low level yet his impact on the field/court is negligible. I was actually quite surprised when I heard he committed to CMU.

I agree with your assumption…

I agree with your assumption about the vibration and white noise. I've had many great naps on helicopters.

My experience is 20 years in…

My experience is 20 years in the past, but it's not much different these days (except the getting lost part).

That’s 16% of FBS programs…

That’s 16% of FBS programs landing a 4*+ QB (slightly lower if a couple snag 2). I think most would consider UofM a top 16% program and so it’s reasonable to expect they should land one most years.

Your analogy only works if…

Your analogy only works if you had multiple wives and some left for playing time; while hot, they couldn't compete with the hottest wife. This is something to be proud of.

As a quality engineer, I…

As a quality engineer, I resent this statement. I also endorse it.

Would this be your take if…

Would this be your take if the team was winning more? The young man is brash, no doubt. So was Chris Webber.

I’m in a large pool (~100…

I’m in a large pool (~100 entries) and prior to last night I was alone in 1st place and looking pretty good. The Houston loss and Texas win got me though. I have 3 of the elite 8 but only KSU advancing can get me any more points. Currently tied for 1st amid a sea of Texas and UConn picks. If they both lose I’ll be in a great spot, but I don’t see that happening. I could end up well out of the money in just a couple of games.

Keeneland is beautiful…

Keeneland is beautiful. Churchill Downs in person is not what it seems on TV. And the surrounding area leaves much to be desired.

I agree they should not be…

I agree they should not be looking to use a pick on a running back. Swift has one more year on his rookie contract. They can resign JW for a relatively inexpensive contract and ride out next season with the same backfield. It's not great but good enough at this point. After next season they can let Swift go and look to replace him in the draft. Use the pick this year that could get a good RB for an OG.

I'll be interested to see if they want to resign Chark. Is he worth $10mil/yr vs. replacing him with a draft pick and a rookie contract?

This is both lazy and stupid…

This is both lazy and stupid. No, I didn’t see his Insta. Did you see mine? I’m an adult and have adult concerns and trolling a student-athlete’s social media is about the farthest thing from an adult concern. Fuck OT season sucks.

30-28 Michigan on a late FG by Mooooody. We win by controlling the los and the clock. OSU will be limited to passing only and will have some success, but with limited possessions we pull it off.

Plymouth-Canton has a very solid band program. My son is in the marching band at Rockford right now. They put on a great show. Definitely a major commitment from kids and parents. I just put dropped $4k to go to LA to watch them march in the Rose Parade this January. Jenison is very impressive as well.

Thank you for looking this…

Thank you for looking this up. This is why 400+yds rushing is the correct answer. Not much to debate here. I'd venture to guess that the win % would be even higher if you were to remove the service academies entirely from this since rushing is almost all they do, even when down in the score.

Stumbled upon Big Grove…

Stumbled upon Big Grove Brewery last summer driving the family out to Wyoming. Needed a place where we could get dinner with our boys and dog and have a beer. Big Grove was fantastic. I'm not sure how it will be on gameday but it was very family (and dog) friendly. The beer and food were wonderful as well. We'll be stopping there every year now on our trips out west.

If you like House of Flavors the location in Ludington is still open. Moomers in TC has fantastic homemade ice cream as well.

This picture brings back good memories. I went to UofM baseball camp 30 years ago as a high school catcher and one of the lasting lessons I received from Coach Freehan was how to block the plate.

Saw a lot of reasons to be optimistic, the biggest being the line. They are maulers. Milton’s ability to run the ball adds a dynamic that will make this offense difficult to contend with all year. A dynamic running attack will open up the short and mid-range passing game, creating easy throws for Milton to a slew of speedy receivers. It will only get better as the timing improves and Gattis can start to open up the playbook.
