UofM Football to Grand Haven
UofM football is having a private 10 hour event for players and family at the beach in Grand Haven later this month.
I'm glad you added the explanation. I wondered if Grand Haven was in talks to join the Big XX.
I just assumed that Grand Haven had an NIL offer too good to pass up!
VIVA
VIVAAAA
GRAND HAVENNNNNNNN
<doo doo doo...>
Me too! I didn't like the drive to Ann Arbor from Flint, now it's off to Grand Haven? Crazy!
That non-conference schedule just keeps getting less interesting for the fans.
Beat the Bucs!
Gonna have to root for my school on this one.
+1
I wasn't sure how many would catch that "Bucs" reference. Looks like I found at least one native of the Coast Guard City.
I caught it but I'm not a Buc. (Sailor/Big Red)
Another Sailor, huh... (Class of 93)
Sailor class of '00. May have to go to GH and show off the dad bod and toss the ball around. Coach will have to give me the call up once he sees the dimes I am dropping.
Let the QBs play American Dunes real quick once.
Just once!
From the Big House to the Big Lake.
Thought this was a transfer portal story when I opened it. Glad the whole team is just going on vacation
This field at Grand Haven is perfect for an away game.
Football’s best setting is in small stadiums on a late summer, early fall Midwestern night.
Watch out for Rip tides ! Red flag non stop
Pronto pups!!!
Washed down with some Odd Side Ales!!!
Arturo's Tacos for the best tacos I've had this side of Vegas. They also have a 7 (-ish) pound "challenge burrito" which might be fun to try.....
Fricano's for famous thin-crust pizza. Wash it down with Stroh's.
Grand Armory Brewing for another craft brewery with excellent BBQ (Dr. Rolf's on-site). Odd Side Ales of course.
Kirby Grill -- upstairs has a big deck with great views and pizza.
Toasted Pickle for good sandwiches.
Finish the night at the Tip A Few Tavern, as it should be.
Pronto pups are overrated corn dogs and the owner is a gigantic piece of shit.
That place sucks.
Amen (Grand Haven resident here)
+1 for accuracy
My go to place in the summer when in high school in Grand Rapids.
Same here, also PJ Hoffmaster and Holland State Parks.
Whenever people want to talk crap to me about my hometown of Muskegon the first thing I do is bring up how nice the beaches are.
Soooooo much better beaches than Grand Haven.
Nice campground that is just a parking lot at that state park there Grand Haven.
Maybe that will convince Dante to pass up Oregons NIL money for a day at the beach
Although this seems like a great opportunity for the OMG shirtless fans, UM applied for exclusive use of a portion of the beach, and the exclusivity request was denied. It doesn't appear that they've subsequently confirmed they will be making the trip.
So Grand Haven is replacing whatever the next overseas Spring trip was before Covid? Hmmm... I don't know, seems like a step down from there. Probably could have visited Columbus.
It was announced earlier that the 2022 team "trip" would be a tour around Michigan. I'm guessing that due to the challenges of international travel in 2021 it made it difficult to coordinate a massive group trip overseas for this year.
