FYI, looks like MDen recently added a shirt that's very old school, just what I was looking for. Just picked it up.

Definitely deliberately…

Definitely deliberately communicating that it was him, not Manuel, that got this across the finish line. Deserved humble pie for Manuel if it's true.

The balance of power will…

The balance of power will shift massively if certain schools are essentially paying athletes huge salaries while others do things "the right way."

If we're entering a college…

If we're entering a college football environment where all schools pay recruits, and Michigan is the only one not playing ball, we'll be lucky to get 8 wins after several recruiting cycles. Yes, it's transactional, and yes it makes the sport objectively worse. But Michigan can't just pretend nothing has changed.

Being a college football player has become a high-paying job, so why would players go to the one school that won't pay them?

It's fun though to see them…

It's fun though to see them start the year hyped and then lose their momentum at the end of the year.

There's still two teams I…

There's still two teams I think Harbaugh is a more serious risk of jumping ship to; Vegas and Chicago

Ross just now said he's not…

Ross just now said he's not targeting Harbaugh and doesn't want to take him from Michigan. Very good news for our odds of keeping Harbaugh if that's true.

Love the dude, most guys…

Love the dude, most guys with his talent probably would have just chosen Bama

I think Harbaugh has a lot…

I think Harbaugh has a lot going for him, but lately I've been similarly skeptical of what he's been doing with the team. I just havent seen evidence that him and his staff are taking their jobs seriously enough in molding their players. It's like they just try to mold the team to what they want it to look like and then just put them out on the field and hope things go as they want them to. Meanwhile look at how coaches like Orgeron, Swinney, Cristobal talk to their players during and before games. So much passion and intensity, no wonder those teams can win their biggest games in clutch moment, while Michigan never wins their biggest games, let alone in clutch moments.

It should be fair to assume…

It should be fair to assume a team with lesser talent that outperforms a team with greater talent has a superior coaching staff. And there's a number of schools where that's true when it comes to Michigan. I'm thinking of teams like Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Kind of strange to spend all…

Kind of strange to spend all your time trolling on a Michigan fan board. If you're a fan of some other team why don't you talk about this stuff on their forum? I'm wondering if you once had a humiliating experience at the hands of a Michigan fan and that's where this rage comes from

On the other hand, from what…

On the other hand, from what we've seen of him so far he hasn't shown much sign of weakness in recruiting or motivating.

Meanwhile, CBS sports…

Meanwhile, CBS sports projects Michigan to face Missouri (5-5) in the Gator Bowl, which is absolutely laughable. https://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/bowls/predictions

Guess we got to unrank…

Guess we got to unrank Kentucky and MSU now huh

Yup. That would be quite the…

Yup. That would be quite the turn of events. FiveThirtyEight lists Michigan as having a <1% chance of winning the conference, even if we do end up win out.

"Look at all options" sounds…

"Look at all options" sounds a lot like "if my draft grade doesn't look good well then I'll look to transfer"

How are you guys feeling…

How are you guys feeling about this game? I've been confident, but I was surprised to see 538 favors Texas Tech with a 51% chance of winning

Yep. Ohio State in general…

Yep. Ohio State in general is the more hated rival for Michigan, but at sports events I encounter FAR more aggressive and shitty behavior from MSU fans than Buckeyes fans. During the football season last year after the Ohio State loss at home I didn't experience any heckling from OSU fans. After we lost to MSU though, there was so much taunting as the fans exited the Big House, and a bunch of MSU fans even gathered on the sidewalk in front of where Michigan fans were passing through and shouted at them.

I was at the game. Lots of…

I was at the game. Lots of students threw their foam lights down over the rows in front of them near the end of the game but I didn't think any reached the court or the bench. When it comes to cussing, I wasn't near the OSU bench so I don't know if there were any hecklers right behind them, though there usually are at almost any game for any team. There were a few big F*** Ohio chants that started in the student section that the arena employees tried to shut down, which she might be referring to.

Would be hilarious if Tate…

Would be hilarious if Tate transferred but Fields wasn't granted eligibility. We all know that won't happen though.

No one's mentioned it, but…

No one's mentioned it, but individual football games are so much more demanding on a team than individual basketball games, for example. Unless you're cutting out regular season games, you're going to have way more injuries if you make teams play a bunch of games on the way to a national championship like in the NCAA tournament. With less teams, and therefore less games to reach 1v1, you're much more likely to have the final two teams at or near the peak strength.

And the powers that be in…

And the powers that be in the NCAA love Bama, the last thing they're going to do is try and dismantle their football program.

Such a joke that we have to…

Such a joke that we have to play Florida for the third time in four seasons. The bowl committee missed such a great opportunity to set up two great actually exciting matchups, UCF vs Florida and LSU vs Michigan. Instead we yet again get the same tired matchup that no one wants to see again. We got screwed hard.

Exactly. An actual good…

Exactly. An actual good defense consistently prevents opposing teams from running up the score as they please. It's well and good having a "#1 defense" that utterly dominates most teams, but when they totally collapse against actually elite teams... it's not worth it.

What can this team do from…

What can this team do from here to change the offense? It seems abundantly clear that in today's game explosive high-powered offenses like Oklahoma's and Ohio State's are what win you games, not slow, predictable, run-up-the-middle offenses like we have. What's it going to take to transform the offense, and are the coaches even willing to try?
