Michigan is more competitive..

....than they've been in many, many years since Harbaugh took over, and although I either grieve or am mad as hell about a few losses against our rivals..I'm not mad at Harbaugh.

The loss to MSU two years ago was a freak accident...not Harbaugh's fault. He had the team that went to the playoffs beaten, and a muffed punt killed it. The next year (2016) Speight (among other key players) got hurt against Iowa..lost by one point. Then you have the disgusting officiating at Ohio. Neither of these were Harbaugh's coaching mistakes or anything he could've resolved. Easily could've went unbeaten in the regular season without these injuries....and lost to Fl. St., I believe, because of still another freak injury to Peppers on the same day as the game. That game could well have been very different, and again, Harbaugh can't work miracles and 'fix' such things.

Then this year, Speight is injured again at Purdue on a BS targeting play never called. In comes O'Korn to lead a young team....and he just wasn't up to the task. I don't know what else to say except..not Harbaugh's fault. Then in comes Peters....things start looking up, and then HE gets knocked out. People can harp and whine about how Harbaugh hasn't lived up to THEIR expections and didn't just start winning every game like they thought he SHOULD, but injuries matter, Officiating bungling and outright BS matters just as much as calling a good game plan. The teams Harbaugh has had the last three years were a 'heartbeat' from having great years instead of good ones...I firmly believe the great ones are coming soon.

That's just..

...laughable. Harbaugh had one year with a bunch of players he had to retrain, and a QB that thankfully came to UM to help out. He went 10-3. The next year, those same players were a zit from going undefeated, were it not for injuries where it hurt, and 'Ref Job' at Ohio. Don't forget that half that team went to the NFL. This year, close competitive loses without even having a fully capable QB like Ruddock. Speight was never the same after he got hurt last year, and Peters was pretty capable for a rookie...then he gets hurt. In comes O'Korn....a guy who was dissed by Houston and we see why. He's just average to below average.....and we still won 8 games and were in all but one.

Thorw in a great QB next year, and watch out. This team will be on fire.

I Predicted...

....this would be a close game, even closer if the Refs weren't looking at pretty girls in the stands on a number of plays. This team was competitive in every game except Penn St., and with a decent QB the record could've been a LOT different. I feel bad for the defense because they played a great game, and I feel bad for the team because once again we just couldn't get the 'football gods' to look kindly on us. I'm very frustrated...but not like last year, which I will always see as a Michigan victory taken away by the Refs.

I'm going to predict a win...

UM 31 OSU 28. Why? Because we're due for a break from all the bad calls, bad bounces and just plain bad luck!

Iowa...

...just remember Iowa. A 6-5 team that barely beat Minnesota, got hammered by Wisconsin, and lost to Purdue...absolutely wiped the ground with Ohio State at Iowa. Can we say that Iowa is so much better than Michigan that we have no chance to do the same thing? Who says Jimmy doesn't look at those tapes and say, "Hey, we can do that as good as Iowa any day."

I have hope...and I will keep having hope until the clock says '00.00'.

I'm OK....

...with our team. Michigan has been competitive these last few Harbaugh years, and that is what I want from any team I favor.  I'm even OK with mistakes...these are 18-20 ish kids who try their best, and UM plays as a team again...and they don't give up, which was evident in the RR and Hoke eras.

What I hate are the demoralizing and outright stupid Officiating mistakes that DO de-moralize these kids. Touchdowns taken away that were touchdowns (Wisconsin this year), and bad calls (or no calls) on critical plays that once again turn the tide and de-moralize players, as well as give the game to the opponent. I don't like to see us win because of this, and like it less to see us lose. I guess that's just life, but it sure does seem we've had a very long string of bad coin tosses going the wrong way.

I love...

....rivalry between UM and Ohio. I hate the f'ing and absolute abortion of officating that went on last year. There was something wrong...really wrong with that crew of officials, and Delany just showed what a jackass he really is by doing nothing and at LEAST giving UM fans a decent confirmation that the job they did was a complete shit-fest.

I don't mind losing a fair game, but I do mind getting a screw job from a bunch of bucky eyed refs. If that team of slimy officals is anywhere near UM stadium this year, I hope the crowd boo's every call they make so loud that not even God can hear them.

I'm happy...

...with progress that Harbaugh has made with this team, in spite of the injuries, bad breaks, and outright bad officiating. There was a time not so long ago when Michigan was not even competitive in many of its games, and that was heartbreaking for a guy who grew up with Bo teams being in the thick of things every year. Last year's team was several horrendous calls from going to the Big Ten Championship, and this year's team is one touchdown (MSU game) and two touchdowns from being 10-1. The touchdown taken away from Michigan in the Wisky game is yet another example of Official reviews sucking and failing to do what they were supposed to do, and the block in the back on the Wisky return was a moronic miss by the officials. Sure, you can say Mich. fans complain about every bad break or miss...but the truth is, we're a lot better than we think IN SPITE of many injuries and bad breaks.

I applaud Harbaugh and all of the coaches for making the best of some rough situations, and I spit in the face of the SEC 'mouthpieces' at ESPN who seem to think that all of us Michigan fans are going to turn on Harbaugh and throw him out because we're so fickle and lame like the LSUs and the Nebraskas.

I have great faith that our time is coming.....a 'train' that is gaining momentum and speed and is going to really start running over all the loudmouth critics.

Dan Capron's crew..

had better not show up at this years OSU game in Ann Arbor.  I've been a UM fan and college football fan for over fifty years, and I've seen a lot of crap in games that cost not only UM victories, but a bunch of other teams as well. Still, that outrage in Columbus still makes my hair stand up in anger to this day, because it was the worst job of officiating I've ever seen. Not only were calls missed, but the call on the fourth down play that gave the game to OSU was done extremely poorly...with the ref signaling a 1st down before he could ever in this lifetime or the next even SEE where the GD ball was. That call all by itself told me that this crew was out to 'throw' this game to OSU.

Interestingly, the same ref we all saw patting an OSU player lovingly on the ass in that game was in volved in a major missed call in the Penn St. game that same year. Granted, it didn't matter, because UM clobbered them, but a PSU defender absolutely mauled one of UM's receivers and there was no interference call. That same ref got into it with Harbaugh when he complained, and you could see from his body language that he didn't appreciate Harbaugh telling him anything about anything.  My conclusion is that that crew has got an 'issue' with Harbaugh, given the nonsense play cards call, etc, etc....and they are far from professional officials. The Big Ten's assessment of their performance was equally insulting, because there were a lot more 'PIVOTAL' missed calls and no calls in that game that just screamed 'We're going to do all we can to get OSU into the playoff!"

I was at this game as well..

..and Herbstreit is a liar. The crowd went insane every time MSU got the ball, and that continued to the bitter end of the game. The reason being...the Defense was PLAYING like they were insane!  I for one love Harbaugh, but damn buddy, you need to light a fire under that offense and tell them to play as insane as the Defense does. They looked lethargic, dis-organized, oppressed by three MSU linemen the whole game...which is just ridiculous.

Our offensive line

..was horrible. Three MSU defense guys rush, our whole freaking line worries about them, whilst four other MSU players sweep in from the sides and destroy O'Korn. He had little or no time for anything, and there were no adjustments made the whole game...at least not that I could see. Sat in the stands wanting to cry....what the H happened to last years offense?

Defense was supurb, and you could see that Don was making adjustments and clamping down on MSU no matter where they got the ball. But the offense...what offense?
