Sounds to me like he is…

Sounds to me like he is saying they were going to increase the assistant pool no matter what happened to Harbaugh.

So how, exactly, is there not a savings by not paying Moore as much as Harbaugh was getting himself?

The thing is, in the…

The thing is, in the Superbowl, I was pulling for Moody and excited for him when he (temporarily) held the SB record for longest field goal.  But I wasnt rooting for the Niners.

I suspect I will feel the same way with JJ, Blake etc.  I'm a Lions fan, so its hard for me to be a fan of another entire franchise

While I think Harbaugh was…

While I think Harbaugh was gonna leave no matter what in this particular hiring cycle, the one reason I will be slightly peeved if we fire Warde NOW, is that I will always wonder what would have happened if we fired him a few months ago

But still, Fire Warde

I cant imagine a worse…

I cant imagine a worse example of "protecting the school brand", than what Warde let transpire from Oct - Dec 2023.  He effectively allowed the jackals in media and our rivals to completely dictate the narrative of the ridiculous sign-gate as "the worst cheating in the history of sports" with zero pushback.  Neutering everyone by saying "we arent allowed to comment" and then tucking his tail and allowing it all to transpire exactly as OSU et al. had hoped.  The players and coaches bailed him out by balling their asses off to finish the season.   He could have at LEAST set up a stealth media blowback campaign to push back and not tarnish the brand and the season.  He did exactly nothing, which is apparently his MO.

He's gotta go

Where is WD when you need…

Where is WD when you need him to get the AD fired?

I picked up a hoodie from…

I picked up a hoodie from Homefield (not championship themed) not too long ago.  It is the softest hoodie I've ever owned.

For those that may know more…

For those that may know more about their relationships, is Warde friendly with Jim Stapleton?  Is he in that camp of "Michigan Men" chasing the 1960s?

If the answer is yes, Warde and Stapleton are pals or even similar lines of thinking about what MICHIGAN means, then he has to go.  We dont need more of that Brady Hoke bullshit.  If he simply doesnt like Harbaugh and Harbaugh's personality, then so be it.  Lots of people fall into that camp.

Everyone that is choosing to…

Everyone that is choosing to believe Warde and Ono could have gotten Jim to stay conveniently ignores that one of Jim's contract demands was that the buyout doesn't increase until after this year's NFL coaching search cycle is over

Fucked how?  Write the check…

Fucked how?  Write the check and its done.

Fuck this and fuck that guy…

Fuck this and fuck that guy.  Stop trying to make him a martyr.  He should be booed for eternity and be embarrassed to step foot in Ann Arbor ever again.  I can not fathom this line of thinking of acting like this fuck is some folk hero for you.

I dont have a problem with…

I dont have a problem with Warde matching a guaranteed NFL contract, but Jim would have to offer the same guarantee that he would with an NFL contract.  He cant just decide to keep looking for a new job every year.

If Jim wont agree to that, even if he was guaranteed the full contract regardless of NCAA nonsense, then that is on Jim.  If Warde wont guarantee the money under any circumstances, then that is on Warde.  Thats how I would assign my "blame" if this goes to hell.

Not sure we will ever find out what is offered if he does leave

I think they are already…

I think they are already sold out.  The site used to say my purchase time was 1pm, but now it says "No Events/Items Available"

I stopped listening to 971…

I stopped listening to 971 when COVID started when I no longer had a commute.  But from what I've read about Valentis topics over the past few months, he's deep down the conspiracy rabbit holes from rcmb.  Someone here said he was pushing the nonsense point shaving "FBI is on their tail" bs a bit ago.  That's just pure MSUanon booger sugar

It's sports Qanon.  Their…

It's sports Qanon.  Their alternate reality is briefly shaken, but still on firm ground in their heads.  It's just more proof that the conspiracy is SOOO big that they can't reveal it all at once.

No amount of time, rulings or facts will ever change that for them.

For sure.  2 weeks in a row…

For sure.  2 weeks in a row he looked blinded by the lights.  Love his potential, but after the 1st time he brought it out of the endzone last night, he should have been finished being a focus on ST or offense

That is not what the article…

That is not what the article says.  It says that Michigan believed that it might be able to talk them down to 2 games

Rumor is that he is not very…

Rumor is that he is not very good at disguises

I agree that the punishment…

I agree that the punishment doesnt fit the "crime."  And I dont think anything should be done to the team, even if Harbaugh himself knew.  The NCAA admitted this rule is pointless.  Its absurd that we are being punished for this nonsense when teams are sending our signals to other teams.

And I'm not suggesting anyone should be tracking this guys whereabouts or anything like that.  I'm just curious if he is still proud of himself.  It sounds like you kind of are still praising him.  Thats sort of what I'm getting at.  Is he surrounded by people that are cheering him on and telling him hes the victim?  Or does he know that he ruined this season and likely Harbaughs career at Michigan?

Has anyone gotten any kind…

Has anyone gotten any kind of real response about all of this shit from Connor Stallions himself?  Not a media response or bullshit "no comment" legal type situation.  Does anyone know this clown personally and gotten his take on it, at a real level?  Does he know that he destroyed the whole program, basically single handedly?  Is he a smug dbag that thinks it was all worth it still?  Is he embarrassed?  Shamed?  Doubling down?

I'm genuinely curious how this clown thinks of himself right now.

Right.  If the threat of…

Right.  If the threat of escalation and use of a purposely vague rule with no power limitation was what forced us to cave, then there is no option other than to leave the BigTen.  They would have proved that they can do anything they want to us and we can do nothing about it.

The biggest failure here was…

The biggest failure here was letting the media frame this story for 3+ weeks without putting out ANYTHING.  Someone should have been flooding the space with explanations about the NCAA wanting to scrap the rule, how its meaningless with todays technology, etc.  Instead they stayed silent and let it fester and let the freaks on the opponent message boards dictate the narrative.  They smelled blood and then the opponent coaches (Purdue, Neb, etc) even piled on with disingenuous bullshit.

Massive failure by our PR machine

The whole concept of "maybe…

The whole concept of "maybe there is more evidence implicating a staffer" is losing sight of the fact that this is all nonsense.  No football coaches actually believe what Connor Stalions did was any more of an advantage than having real staffers break down signals via All22 vid.  Certainly none think that what Conor Stalions did was worse than OSU and Rutgers sending the signal breakdowns to Purdue.  No actual coaches think this was cheating

This whole thing was just a con that was pulled on the media to claim this was some massive cheating scandal, knowing causal sports fans would fall for it. The NCAA itself said that the rule was basically pointless with current technology.  So who gives a shit if other staffers knew?  What are we talking about here?  Kids with iphones in stands?  And we are accepting 3 game suspensions against our toughest opponents in the best season in most of our lifetimes?

GTFOOH

Not saying your source is…

Not saying your source is wrong but this is extremely hard to believe.  Like that is truly unbelievable

Those admissions will be the…

Those admissions will be the media narrative.  Why are we agreeing to a suspension if we did nothing wrong?

2 potential answers to that question really, and neither are good.  Either we did do something wrong or we decided we can't or won't fight it.

What the hell was all that …

What the hell was all that "Bet" shit about if you were just going to roll over?

Interesting.  I'm sure they…

Interesting.  I'm sure they will try any and all arguments with the NCAA.

This doesnt actually address the BigTen's "sportsmanship" suspension though.  Which brings up another argument.  The BigTen got around the 2 game suspension limit for Harbaugh by claiming they werent actually suspending him, they were suspending the "head coach" and defacto face of the institution.  Some posters brought up the loop hole of well, then lets make Jim the OC or special assistant or something and make a scapegoat the HC. Suspend that fake HC, and Jim can be interim.  Sounds ridiculous, as it is.

BUT, what if we push that argument in front of the judge on Friday.  Have the lawyers ask the BigTen if Jim Harbaugh is not the target of the suspension (according to BigTen), then would he be able to coach and be with the team if he was not the head coach?  If they say no, then you have them admitting that the suspension is actually for Jim Harbaugh, not a phantom entity called the head coach.  If they admit that, then the suspension is against the BigTen bylaws and should be thrown out.  If they say that Jim would be eligible to be with the team if he was not the head coach, then call their bluff and make that happen and then after the 3 game suspension, give him the new contract you are planning to anyway

That place is essentially…

That place is essentially QANON for college football fans.  It's an alternate reality.  Sometimes funny to watch, but ultimately frightening that those people live amongst us

If we were to leave, would…

If we were to leave, would the TV networks (Fox, NBC) be able to sue BigTen for like breach of contract or something (not a lawyer so just throwing legal sounding words out there)?

You'd have to assume a decent part of their justification for agreeing to contracts with the BigTen involved the ability to broadcast Michigan games.  That would be removed.  What happens to those TV contracts?

I can't believe there is…

I can't believe there is really gonna be a movie about Connor fucking stalions one day.

This is the "good reason"…

This is the "good reason" for only allowing people in suites to purchase alcohol.  Not adding to the concession and bathroom lines and the up and down through the seats and the spillage, etc.

I've been to other college stadiums that sell beer, and its mostly not a big deal, but it does add to the lines and the amount of times one has to stand up to let others get by

This is an interesting…

This is an interesting theory.  Basically a rare but not unprecedented sports related injury where a blunt impact on the heart at exactly the "right" time can cause this.

OSU - Maryland is also on ABC next week.  Either our game or that game will be at noon on ABC.  The other will be at 3:30 on ABC.  Those are the only options

They are basing this line of…

They are basing this line of thinking 100% on Valenti having a throw away comment that the video he saw isnt what Harbaugh claims and shows a Michigan guy starting it.

I feel like the whole Mr…

I feel like the whole Mr. Brightside thing is organically "ours" and unique.  So I dont have a problem with them forcing it a little too much.  It's one of those things that visiting fans arent aware of if theyve never been and is a neat little something.

But this season does feel kind of weird for in game experience.  I guess I dont really get the Wolf of Wall street thing and that seems forced.  And the DJ during the PSU game was really bad

Right.  "People down South…

Right.  "People down South generally do not take the risks of the virus as seriously."  This is the problem.  It's not a perspective to take into account.  It's refusal to believe reality.  Did we learn nothing in the last 5 or 6 months?  The people down south laughed when the problem was just for liberals up north.  The masks were for pussies.  Shutting down bars?  Ridiculous.  And look what happened to them.

Just because people plug their ears and say they will go on with their normal activities, doesn't mean it's something that responsible people should consider as "just a different opinion."

Whats your "line" on the…

Whats your "line" on the number of deaths in your family that you'd find acceptable before taking it seriously?

Those numbers you cite are…

Those numbers you cite are from their model scenario that included ZERO mitigation efforts.  That would be their estimate if not a single mask were worn and nobody avoided any contact at all

"The most recent survey, taken on March 16 and 17, found that, as a group, the experts think that as of March 15, only 12 percent of infections in the U.S. had been reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They think there’s a 73 percent chance of a second wave of hospitalizations this fall. And they expect approximately 200,000 deaths in the U.S. by the end of the year"

Which predictions were…

Which predictions were wildly off?  The ones from the guy claiming it would magically disappear and be gone by April, or the scientists that said we would have 200k dead americans this year and waves would roll around the country as we relaxed measures and had to keep shutting things down?

Because, the scientists have been surprisingly correct

Magical thinking and refusal…

Magical thinking and refusal to accept reality is the reason why we dont have college football.

From this simple minded,…

From this simple minded, childish understanding of infectious diseases, society and human rights, I have to assume that you did not attend an accredited university, and maybe not a high school.

A general rule of thumb is…

A general rule of thumb is an average of $75 per ticket per game, and then add on the PSC.  The PSC varies greatly by location in the stadium, but most years, the only available seats are in the end zones or nearby, where the PSC is $80 per seat (for the year).  The PSC goes up very steeply as you move towards mid field.

IMO, I love being a season ticket holder.  It's not just the games, it's the tailgating and such.  We have a large group of people that tailgate together and it's always a blast.

If I were to just show up at game time at the stadium, I would agree with the complaints.  But saturdays in the fall are my favorite days of the year.  Seeing all of the old friends.  Bringing family.  cooking.  And then venturing in.  I love that shit.  So they'll get my ~$600 per year and my brother's as well

First time at The Game for me.  I'll be tailgating at the car wash.  Getting there around 7am.

The dirty cooler poopers might be able to fund their tickets from the empty beer cans we toss at them
