My wife and I are flying in to MI tomorrow morning, from South Carolina. Was hoping to see some snow, but looks like the Southern part of the state is getting rained on. Bummer.
I work 5 min from Clemson's campus and I heard Crouch is making a visit to tomorrow's game vs the Wolfpack. If someone buys me a ticket, I'll stand at the top of the hill (where the recruits stand for the pregame rock ritual) and shout the Victors repeatedly at the top of my lungs.
I work near Clemson...you will get more grief for saying that word than any other combination of 4 letter words put together to describe someone's mother.
I live in Greenville and work in Anderson...about 15 miles from campus. Most people down here anointed TL as a TF starter from the minute he committed. I've talked to a handful of fans here in the last hour or so since the news came out and every single person I've talked to is nervous. Not nervous that TL won't be able to lead at the position at the same pace he has or better...but more so that they are 1 hit away from being led by a 3rd string QB.
Most posters on Tigernet are showing more support and thanks versus throwing shade to KB.
In the end, classy move by Dabo to make the QB start announcement before game 5. That's one of the reasons why people down here go nuts for the guy. But I don't think keeping TL as a backup all year would have done any harm. It wasn't like KB was going to lose games for them down the road (before CFP). TL just gives them a better offensive makeup and they score 2-3 more TDs a game. Which they really don't need. They just need to win, not win big.
I'm sure it comes down to the CFP though. Who gives them a better chance to win the championship? I'm thinking Dabo believes that giving TL 9 starts before the CFP is going to give them the best chance to win those last 2 games of the season. But yeah, 1 hit, they could win the ACC still with their 3rd string, but CFP? I doubt it...and most others down here feel the same way.
Trying to convince the wife that taking care of 4 kids (3 girls and a boy) while she was on bed rest for 5 months with our fifth (another girl) calls for a reward...a trip up north outta South Carolina to watch the game with my son. Here's to miracles!

Read a couple of predictors that had Michigan going to the East region. Is region location still speculation this early in the game? Hoping they will make the East region and land in Greenville, SC.
I moved my family to Greenville, SC just over 4 months ago and work about 20 minutes East of Clemson. I was highly encouraged in one of my interviews to pick a local team to cheer for and Clemson seemed like the natural choice. Gotta have something to add at the old water cooler I guess. Obviously, Michigan would always trump, but my 12 year old son and I agreed to follow them.
It lasted about a month. He was tired of the kids at school giving him a hard time for wearing Michigan gear all the time. I was tired of the local sports radio guys tell me how great Clemson was. As the season progressed, talk turned into how undeserving the Big 10 was to have as many teams as we had in the top 25, then top 15, then top 10...and so on. Who did Michigan play? Who have they beat? We beat Louisville...blah, blah, blah. They hung their hat on that game all season.
Thanksgiving weekend was a disaster. I've wanted nothing more all season long than to face Clemson in the CFP. It almost happened, it should be happening. Instead, I'm forced to cheer for the local team that I've cringed at the last 4 months. And now Watson is a legit Heisman candidate who is the only candidate to be in the CFP. Perfect.
Taking my wife to dinner on Main St for her birthday dinner tonight. Suggestions on where to watch the game afterwards? Reservations at 6, so it'll be tight!
