I'd be shocked if Maye left…

I'd be shocked if Maye left Carolina given his family ties. His brother is Luke Maye, who hit the buzzer beater against Kentucky a few years ago when they won the national championship in basketball. Stranger things have happened, though.

McDonough and Blackledge are…

McDonough and Blackledge are one of my least favorite broadcast teams. They push whatever the narrative du jour is and neither of them provide much in the way of original thought or critique. They were on the Syracuse-Clemson game last week and it was awful.

This column was absolute…

This column was absolute perfection, as always. Thought I was going to see this Adam Driver gif, but was pleased nonetheless.

The axes/scales and labels…

The axes/scales and labels on these graphs are a lot to decipher, especially if you’re used to looking at a traditional, four-quadrant graph layout. Usually, the y-axis is negative to positive reading from down to up, but this one runs from positive to negative (to allow for the quadrant 1 to have the best teams and quadrant 4 to have the worst teams). Meanwhile, the labels for the axes are located where you would normally see them for a graph of the first quadrant only (with the axes making an L shape and the y-axis label running up the left and the x-axis label running across the bottom). Four-quadrant graphs usually have the axis with scales forming a t in the center of the graph at the origin (0,0) with the labels being placed closer to the axis that they represent (x-axis middle left/right and y-axis middle top/bottom). I understand the choices, but it makes you read the graph very carefully.

Thanks for writing this and…

Thanks for writing this and including a racial lens in the analysis. Given your platform, your inclusion of a nuanced discussion of race is crucial to the way that so many will interpret what happened. For those of you denying the racial context of this situation, please go find some resources on race by people of color so you can learn how unhelpful this perspective is.

Welp.

Welp.

I feel like this thread is…

I feel like this thread is the right place for this take:

This game was not any kind of indictment on Jim Harbaugh. It was, however, one for Ryan Day. This Michigan team had glaring strengths and weaknesses as the season progressed. Georgia did a phenomenal job scouting and exploiting those weaknesses with their scheme and tremendous talent. Ohio State claims to (and does) prepare for this game 365 days out of the year. They HAD the talent to exploit those weaknesses and didn’t. Georgia did. And that is FINE, for 2021 Michigan. This year was about changing the culture, which happened with a home win against our biggest rival. To take the next step forward, this team will need to beat both rivals, with the biggest game being on the road in 2022. If that happens, I’d expect another loss, albeit closer, in the CFP to a more talented SEC team. 2023 is for all the marbles.

I believe the moment of zen…

I believe the moment of zen occurs right before Harbaugh says that we have a chance to be the one seed. While not quite as zenful, it is entertaining: https://twitter.com/mjoebean/status/1467394299017023488?s=21

Uh, I really don’t catch what you’re saying.

Nothing brings out the best,…

Nothing brings out the best, most rational parts of the fan base like recruiting season! Some folks on here went from I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS TEAM AND AM THE MOST LOYAL FAN EVER MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE HERE to predicting the demise of the program based on the decisions of 17/18 year olds. If you can’t enjoy this time as a Michigan fan, what on earth are you doing with your life? Go Blue. Beat Georgia. Lighten the fuck up, Francis[es].

Didn’t realize someone had already noted this, but I also would like to see the MANBALL vs. Basketball on Grass section say more about the run game again. Other than that, the analysis is fantastic
