They couldn’t decide if…

They couldn’t decide if clapping or yelling was giving off the right vibe, so had to go with both.

I’m sure you’re right. I’d…

I’m sure you’re right. I’d just been used to seeing Wolf referred to as a center on 247 and in articles, so it caught my eye in the post.

My thoughts exactly. And in…

My thoughts exactly. And in his interviews during bowl prep he just seemed to have such a great attitude and would have been a good leader for the team. Will still be rooting for him.

I really wish Trente would…

I really wish Trente would have stayed for one more year. Hoping he can find a team and make the 53-man roster.

I was looking at his wiki…

I was looking at his wiki page the other day because I was curious about the spelling since his son’s name is spelled with a Y. Apparently his birth name is Scotty but he “goes by” Scottie. Maybe just got tired of correcting people and decided to go with it?

Agreed.

Agreed.

A few years back I read…

A few years back I read Hyperion by Dan Simmons and The Three-Body Problem based on the recommendation of some users here and I loved both of them.

If you like historical fiction, I’d recommend Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian if you haven’t read it yet. I recently re-read it and appreciated the writing style more now than I did when I was younger. It’s a fictional Western, but some parts are based on a memoir and include actual historical figures like John Joel Glanton. The Judge is terrifying and is one of my favorite characters of all time. A warning: it can be shockingly violent at times.

Yeah, it feels like they…

Yeah, it feels like they could use motion with him a lot to mess with defenses. Motion him out of the backfield to the slot and vice versa, across the formation to threaten jet sweeps. There are probably other things you could do as well, but I’m pretty limited in my knowledge of ball.

Thank you, Brian.

Thank you, Brian.

I’d never heard of Nitro…

I’d never heard of Nitro Tuggle before this comment, but now I’m convinced that Michigan needs him on the team based on name alone.

I’m surprised. I was…

I’m surprised. I was thinking he may end up in Buffalo, but I like the deal. If it turns out that he isn’t the same after the hip resurfacing then they won’t be stuck with him beyond this season. And if he can still play then it’s an excellent move.

If they can maintain their defensive play from the last few games and Lyon can get hot in the playoffs, then I could see them stealing a series depending who they get matched up with.

I’m also curious what number Kane will choose, since Sprong has 88.

I’ve been thinking about…

I’ve been thinking about that narrative shift as well. The preview Brian wrote where he spoke of the team being unburdened, joyful, and “running like there’s nothing in their pockets” really stuck with me. I hope the constant negative media coverage (and having their head coach suspended) hasn’t sapped the joy out of the game for the players, but it’s hard for me to imagine that it hasn’t had an effect.

I’d like them to maintain that identity that they had early in the season, so I’m with you in that I hope the team can play unaffected by the burden of this situation and is able to hand out a joyous ass-kicking complete with chairs waving on the sidelines.

If anything, I’d think it…

If anything, I’d think it would be a FERPA violation, but I wouldn’t expect the UM Football program to have academic records on their drive, since that’s usually only accessed through the admissions dept.

What’s deemed sufficient…

What’s deemed sufficient monitoring, though? I feel like there could be reasonable monitoring in place that wouldn’t catch this if he was determined to do it.

If there’s no evidence that someone higher up in the department asked him to do this, are they still responsible for monitoring things that occur outside of the program? Personal purchases, usb drives, emails?

If he’s assigned to watch broadcast video and try to decode signs (which isn’t illegal) and then types up a report with his findings, is there supposed to be someone who verifies the video he used by going through his hard drive (maybe he only had it on his personal computer).

Yeah, I think Seth has…

Yeah, I think Seth has talked about it on the podcast before. The MSU tickets are more valuable on the secondary market and the AD adjusts the cost of season tickets based on that, so they always want to have one of OSU or MSU as a home game each year. Or something like that.

I was curious about this too…

I was curious about this too, so I looked up the rule and apparently if a head coach is suspended by the school or the conference, he can still count the games toward his record. But if the committee on infractions hands out the suspension, the games will go on the interim coach’s record. As far as having different interim head coaches in the first vs second half - no idea. I didn’t see anything about it in the rule book.

This could be the issue. I…

This could be the issue. I use the 4K Chromecast to stream and haven’t had any buffering, but my folks use the apps built into their TV and the performance can be spotty.

I’d expect him to have a…

I’d expect him to have a higher completion percentage in the first halves of those potential blowout games, and hopefully a general increase in completion percentage in Big Ten games now that he’s in year 3, but I think your point still stands that the yards and touchdowns records will be more likely to be broken.

For $200, they could…

For $200 they could probably get 50 Stanzo brand fedoras.
