As much as I love fancystats, there is no one fancystat that works better than SCOREBOARD at predicting victory. SCOREBOARD says that we were up 24-9 on Penn State with 4 minutes left and then gave up a touchdown in garbage time due to prevent defense, mistakes, and penalties.
Running 32 times in a row is not going to work vs OSU. But I think we showed in last year's game that we can adjust to whatever their defense is trying to do. We bombed them through the air in the first three quarters and on the ground in the fourth.
To me, this year's game is going to come down to which team can pressure and hit the other team's QB most consistently. Either offense can score 50 if they have the time to execute their plays. Barnhart is going to have to have a great game for him
I understand the networks wanting Michigan in prime time, but what a crappy game to put in that time slot. Just as lopsided as the MSU game and no rivalry angle to play up. The quality of this matchup deserves a nooner on BTN.
One of the stupidest points in this "process" was when the Broncos interviewed David Shaw (I assume to satisfy the Rooney rule and not because they were seriously interested in him) and one "journalist" wrote about this and said that the Broncos interviewing Shaw was a sign that Harbaugh was definitely their top choice. WTF?
It ends with USC joining the B1G 10 West and wiping the floor with all the other West division schools until the B1G does away with football divisions.
Yes, I did a quick Stubhub check to make sure that $221 was not correct. I think Brian didn't update that box from last week vs MSU. Anyway, for $221 on Stubhub you get to stand next to Schiano on the Rutger sideline and call their first down plays.
Dream on. I am sure Tom would leave a 20 million dollar per year Fox gig with several months off per year for a 2 million per year, year round college assistant coach position that would require him to move to Michigan
And how about this "Chris Bears" fellow in Austin? It sounds like the OP believes that his transfer from Texas Tech to Texas had a lot of impact on Mr. McGlung's decision to go pro, but Chris Bears doesn't even show up on the Longhorns roster. I wonder coach Chris Beard would have advised him to do it he was still at Tech.
Always glad to hear when someone well known says something nice about our team. But the fact remains that Cowherd is a tool and a blowhard who rarely has an insightful opinion about anything.

My main rooting interests this weekend:
M football steamrolls Nebraska
M men's hoops pounds EM(oni)U
Zags stomp on Izzo
TB12 beats Pete Carroll in Germany
Zags…
Who will win by more?
Zags versus Sparty in hoops?
Us versus Huskers?
…
Corn, corn everywhere.
Tomorrow will be flattened
By a steamroller.
Word. Beat EMU
Will Scott Frost's mom be at the game?

Well done! Outstanding! Opponent Watch continues to be the best regular feature on this here blog.
Song mash up at beginning is great and would be perfect if it just included the line:
Don't you know? Pump it up! You got to pump it up!

Never doubt the hypnotic power of Lovie's beard!
Those are all great, but my favorite Bill Murray film by far is the summer camp comedy Meatballs. So many great one liners!

I don't know anything about his game, but I think changing his name from "McClung" to "McGlung" right before the NBA draft was another poor move.
These kind of predictions before a quarterback actually accomplishes anythingalways work out well:
"Ron Powlis will win the Heisman two times and be the greatest quarterback in the history of Notre Dame football. ". Beano Cook
Great! It's settled - No need to play the actual games now. When can we schedule the parade and celebration at Crisler?
Zack Novak deserves to have his jersey retired, especially as the creator of The Aneurysm of Leadership.

Spartan tears are sweet
More banners in Crisler, please!
Izzo is a punk
Chaundee Brown is a stone cold killer!
Great news! Love how hard he works and the effort he gives on the court. I am very proud that he represents the Maize and Blue!
No one on our current team plays harder than Davis. I would put him on the all Zack Novak team for effort.
He is pretty limited moving on defense and plays like he is shorter than Johns. True bigs can score over him without much problem.
But you know that he is going to give you his all every second that he is on the court, and that is all that you can ask for.
+1 Well titled. Accurate. Succinct.

Great piece, Seth. It almost brought tears to my eyes. Well done!
I assume that I am already too late to change my username to "Overdose of Swag"
This team could make it to the Final Four, but that doesn't change the fact that Seth Davis is a tool and a terrible basketball commentator.
WIN THE GAME !!!!
Win with character, win with cruelty.
