Sending all of the students through Gate 10? Are you kidding me? Anyone who's ever been a student knows that this is going to be a disaster. Even with the old system, where a substantial amount of students got in through adjacent gates, lines at Gate 10 were always a problem. The bottleneck will probably lead to similar amounts of students getting into the stadium late, just like in previous years, not to mention being unpopular with the students. Awesome.
What a ridiculous ending! After Ghana got that BS penalty kick against the US in 2006, along with all of their flopping at the end of this year's US-Ghana game, it's great to see them choke in the most painful way imaginable. I'm feeling an incredible amount of schadenfreude right now.
12:18 am update:
The crowd has now turned hostile — throwing bottles at police officers going into the crowd to make arrests — and the police have formed a riot line in the middle of the street. The Michigan State Police have a tear gas launcher ready to go and also have industrial canisters of pepper spray at the ready. Sounds like things could turn ugly fast. The crowds are chanting obscenities at the police.

Here we go...
Coach K needs no explanation. His accomplishments are unmatched by any active coach.
Jim Calhoun has more national titles and conference championships than Tom Izzo.
Roy Williams has more national championships and more conference championships than Tom Izzo, plus beats Izzo head to head pretty regularly, so I'm not sure where your argument is.
Billy Donovan has more national titles and has a winning head to head record against Izzo.
Gary Williams is the only coach to ever win a national championship without a McDonalds All American on his team since its inception. He also has a winning head to head record against Izzo.
As for Calipari, I'll give you him, since he hasn't exactly run a clean program and hasn't won an NC. However, the last time Calipari's and Izzo's teams met, Calipari's Memphis team destroyed Izzo's.
I'm not saying Izzo's a bad coach. On the contrary, he's one of the better coaches in the game and I definitely think he works magic in March. However, saying he's the best coach in the game when he has only won one NC and struggles against the coaches I've listed is just silly.
It's pathetic the effort that Michigan has been putting forth all game. We're getting outhustled by the last place team in the Big Ten. Really a poor reflection on the team as a whole when they just go through the motions.
Whatever the gap, Coach Rod needs to close it fast. Another losing season, or another year with losses to our main rivals, and he'll probably be gone. Starting 0-3 against OSU after going 8-16 in his first two seasons would probably cause him to lose his job, or at least put it in serious jeopardy. Let's just hope the D improves after a year under GERG and the new recruits make an impact.
The biggest gap is in the defense. Michigan's offense is pretty good, but we don't have the talent level or the coaching to field a defense comparable to theirs. If that doesn't change soon, some heads will have to roll.
Probably the most impressive thing about this is watching Nebraska's defense at work. Arizona has 37 total yards as of the middle of the 4th quarter. Hopefully Michigan can get their D up like this. With our talent level and coaching though, it might take awhile, but it's still something to strive for.
Tebow is a winner because he's surrounded by talent and because Florida has an amazing defense to back him up. He's struggled against bad competition this year (remember those two pick-sixes against Mississippi State?). Florida is undefeated because they have the 2nd best defense in the nation, not because Tebow is a "winner".
What is a "winner's attitude" anyway? Doesn't every QB have this?

I have visions of our defense getting scorched time and time again. I can't see us holding them under 30 points. Offensively, I think that we'll play like we did against PSU, hence the low score. I really, really hope I'm wrong though.
RichRod has made his name as an offensive innovator, and he's clearly done a decent job with the offense. However, it's well known that he is very hands-off in his dealings with the defense. Even so, I'm surprised that he has such limited communication with the defensive personnel and coaches. The head coach, by definition, should have an idea of what's happening on the field at all times, offensively and defensively. If Rich Rodriguez can't put the same emphasis on defense as other top HCs (Carroll and Tressel are both heavily involved in their teams' defenses for example), then he should at least hire some competent position coaches to make the defensive decisions for him, because clearly Gibson and Hopson don't have clue.
There was some controversy back in 2007 because Chambers played on special teams against Penn State when he was ineligible. Nothing ever came of it, though.
Edited for clarification. We should be able to count on our defense to come up with a stop now and then. Instead, we've become Texas Tech, where we have to win games in a shootout.

I saw Ben Cronin at the Blue Lep about a week ago, but I don't think he was working on physical therapy there...
Let's just hope Denard stays healthy...

Riiiight.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Cornell was the only team from the Ivy League in the tournament IIRC. Still a good win though
Stu had a great game. 19 points and 5-7 on three pointers.
If we lose this game, heads need to roll.
Does Sparty riot?
Now all we need is Ohio State to lose to complete the trifecta.

The pick is clearly Donatas Motiejunas, because Dumars has a hugely successful history of drafting white centers from Europe.
