Tate Forcier’s future with the Michigan football team is unknown.

One day after Michigan officials announced their backup quarterback was ineligible for the Gator Bowl, coach Rich Rodriguez said Friday he didn’t know whether Forcier would return.

“His status with the school is as a student, first and foremost,” Rodriguez said. “That’s undetermined at this point.”

that Tate is like 80% of the kids I went to school with at his age....except for the fact that he's in the pressure cooker of major collegiate athletics on top of the academics. Regardless, I'm saying anything about the young man that hundreds of people haven't posted before. The coach said it himself, he needs to fulfill his duties as a student first and foremost.

I never took more than 15 in a semester and I rarely even had a job let alone had to deal w/ practice, film, study table, travel, etc. He clearly was in a pretty dire situation to have had signed up for 16 credits in the fall semester (otherwise, why not just load up on credit hours in the winter when football isn't so time consuming....)

I mean really, what is the hell is going on? As an athlete, you have pressures of the program and a support network monitoring your progress. If this was an overloaded semester by accident, we have a poor support network. Unfortunately, I can only more plausibly believe that Tate has been previously dicking around (saw that from his last summer workouts) and was making up credits.

What are you?  His dad?  Just because you think you're the second coming of Chirst because you worked *I mean bragged* 68 hours, took 16 credit hours all with a wife and kid doesn't mean you're better than anyone else.  That was your choice.  To rip on a fellow fan because they decided not to work during college is completely egregious.

Some people actually want to enjoy their life.  It's not their fault that you take life so serious.

being just one term/semester.  It sounds like fro RR's note that he has been on the ragged edge of academic disater for the past several terms.  you can have one bad tern and stay in school; it sounds like this may not be the case.  Whether he stays or not may be out of RR's hands at this point.

This is just my take reading between RR's lines FWIW.

I just find it sad that in the interview from earlier this week, he was talking about how he had realized how important an education from Michigan could be and was taking classes much more seriously this year. However, he somehow found a way to be eligible last year when he claims that he was partying too much, but then this year, when he wants to take his education more seriously, he does worse...

Well he is taking more credits than he has taken before, and they are probably probably harder classes. He could have grown up and taken class seriously this year and just have bitten off more than he could chew. Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day nor caffeine in the world.

saying in an interview that all you have to do to pass is go to class might catch the attention of whoever taking a break from grading your final papers and exams. how much i like my students and how seriously they take my class doesn't affect the grades i give people, but i know for a fact it does for some other gsi's. just sayin'...

How many of us didn't know a guy like Tate who struggled with academics and/or maturity issues during their first few years? I understand the difference is that those guys weren't also on television weekly but many of us know those same guys often went on to earn degrees.

I'll reserve judgment on one Robert Forcier just yet.

my sophomore year, I graduated with a 3.5.  Kid was homeschooled and has about a zillion distractions.  He's probably not used to being in large classes, much less hundred person lectures.  He can still turn it around.  Although I do doubt whether or not it'll be at michigan.

why you were given a neg vote.  Just being truthful.  I'm just concerned for the young man's stability.  When football is your life and Michigan is your dream school, losing both is a disaster.  Trust me; I'm speaking from personal experience.

He needs a strong support system to help him up.

Maybe you could have been a little more consoling...He is a part of our team!

cuz if he was a part of the team, he would have done better in school and carried his grades.  I would bet that he started slacking after the UConn game cuz he knew he was gonna transfer.  But all he did was hurt himself cuz the new school will take his failure into account.

He is a great kid but had some piss poor advisors.

Brewcity must be confusing my posts with yours, some of the totally ignorant, nonsensible, and just plain assine things that you write are mind boogling. To go around fat, drunk and stupid is no way to make it though life.

Whether you have Rush or Olbermann, your picture itself is toeing the line of a board rules violation and may be bringing you extra negs. Also, you didn't have a picture when you got sent to Bolivia last night, so don't blame Rush for your stay there. Brew City is a good poster. For all the flame wars you've incited and insults you've dropped in the last 24 hours I'm beginning to question whether you're a troll behind enemy lines, and I'm probably not the only one.

Why is it considered inciting flame wars when you respond to some one who has insulted you? Read the tape, not in one instance, not one, was i the one who demeaned or insulted someone first. I was only responding to something hurled my way. I will never be the bully, but I damn sure am not going to let some jack ass unload his fustrations of the day on me. Rule with an even hand

This might be affected by CC. Either way it would be a great idea to take a qb in this class because if either Denard or Tate transfer we're down to 2 qbs.
