@ M-Dog

My oldest daughter was born in 91. She loved those Barney vids as a kid. The youngest was born in 95, and was into Teletubbies.

I will take Barney every day of the week, and twice on Sundays before sitting thru more Teletubbies. Holy Hell!!!! Whomever thought that crap up needs to be kicked in the junk...daily.

Not a BB fan....

But any M win is a good win. Gratz to the young men, and Coach B. Win or lose, he has been a godsend for the school. Go Blue.

Never followed college hockey

But any Michigan win is always a good thing. Go Blue

@Trustblue

I went to visit someone I knew in prison once. Pretty sobering experience. He told me n a friend the prisoners would shoot loads on the shower handles to screw with other prisoners. Said earlier in the day some "critter as he called em" got 1 shotted, and knocked the hell out. Trivial stuff.

Didnt sound like any place I would want to be.

I saw a news report once of prison in another country. They thought a guy was a child rapist(he wasnt guilty it turned out), and after they were done, dude could of used a man-pon. They took turns driving it home was way I read it.

I have had Crohns for 35 yrs now. Had part of my gut removed also. No way I would trade for what that guy went thru. Holy Hell.

I saw another show about prison in Africa(might of been same as man-pon guy). The guy said he would rape every new prisoner. Not for the sex, but to show them he was number 1 in prison, and they now belonged to him.

Crazy stuff.

Heh

I wondering how I possibly got someones knickers in a bunch. My last post a couple weeks ago was on the BB recruiting, and those complaining on coaches pick ups. My comment amounted  to how can you expect coach to pull 5 stars constantly if he is unwilling to cheat. Few days later tried to comment on another thread, and found I couldnt.

Funny how timing works.

Did you mean to say...

"Mind boggling that he couldnt deliver better classes"? heh

I dont even like basketball. Be it pro or college. That said, with what has been proven true about how corrupt  recruiting is, short of a couple tourney titles, I dont think you are going to land 5*s on any type of regular basis.

Sort of like looking for that hole in one. Lucky if you get one in a lifetime, unless you have a Nintendo golf game that is.

That would depend...

on how nice the ring he bought her was.

If it come from a bubble gum machine, he has already been introduced the married man's best friend: The sofa.

Like other married men before him, he will spend many nights on it over the yrs. Like the night he comes home drunk, and pisses all over the bathroom floor. Or the night he doesnt think she can hear him, and he lets loose on how he really feels about his in laws, or her best friend.

Yes indeed, welcome to married land, young man. As Ralphie May said: One bag and no BJs allowed over there.

Didnt mind Millen so much

Before he took over control of the Lions. I remember them saying he was likely to replace Madden when it was his time to retire. Instead he made a bad situation worse.

Boy, he sure messed his career trajectory up as bad as he did for Detroit.

@LSAC2k

Every one robs from you. Robs from me.

Kills people

Does coke in the bathroom stall, then urinates on serving cart.

You know...normal stuff.

@OP 1464

I am sure someone pointed out by now, but one game was not close at all. His first yr vs the Bucks.

I put that more on DJ. He had no way to stop the run. Injury did play a huge role, but I think that Md job did as well. That is the only one I can think of that wasnt close since Coach got here. I am very happy Michigan hired him.

I will always regret them destroying the program though before figuring out how important FB is. I wont be alive to see Michigan hit another 40 yrs without a losing season, 30 plus yrs of bowls, and not being shut out since Iowa in 80s.

I have no doubt if Jim retires here, he will of planted a coaching tree like Schembechler did, and future generations will marvel at the steady Michigan we enjoyed.

Go Blue

@FieldyNuts

You must be a younger person, as even though I dont like BB, Bobby Knights toss of the chair was famous during its time.

Schembechler wasnt quite that animated, but he lost it on refs a number of times. I know the feeling though. The first bowl I can remember watching was Michigan USC back in late 70s Rose, and they credited Charles White with a TD despite fumbling about the 3 yrd line going in.

I was young, and we were on family vacation to Florida for holidays. Bad weather all week, and got to top it off with that call. I was livid for someone only about 10 or so. Still am. heh

While I do like

Jets deep dish pizza, if I am in Flint I am having Sicilys Pizza, and out here in Owosso I am enjoying Vals.

Like Iowa and their RB hating deity

It is starting to look like Md and QBs dont make a good mix. I think they are headed in right direction though under Durkin. Rutgers though? Sadly, they will always be able to claim they beat us in their first yr of conference play. They still look like a bye week.

Purdue should be on rise for near future. I doubt Brohm jumps ship before 3rd yr.

Neb fans are restless. The calls for Frost are all over the Rivals Huskers brd.

Iowa is once again this close. Think in terms of the original Maxwell Smart saying it.

When the Bucks play with confidence, they are tough to get a win against. Give em a good smack in the mouth, and they are beatable.

Hope the young man

Will be OK. I dont mind the kids getting minor bumps/bruises, or their feelings hurt. It is FB, and is a rough sport.

It is the serious injuries I dont wish on any player.

Be it a brain rattling to an ACL, or a host of others. Our players or those we are playing in a given week. From past experience, if they do suffer a major injury, I personally would prefer the clean breaks of arms or legs instead of ligaments/internal injuries.

Broke the bone between my shoulder n elbow once. After it healed, a little arthritis, but basically functional. I dislocated that shoulder twice. Never has been the same. In the case of these athletes, those injuries tend to be the career killers. People like Antonio Bass, Lattimore from South Carolina and the Patriot Rookie RB that saw his career end from flag football at Pro Bowl come to mind.

Here is to wishing the best for the young man, and any others hurt today.

I wonder...

You think that was one of those sea bass with fricken laser beams?

100?

I will be 49 in a couple of days, and have had 5 surgeries total. They arent as intrusive these days with main body cavity. My gall bladder was a cake walk vs being cut wide open to have part of bad intestine removed 20 yrs ago.

Even if they all were easy surgeries, going under that many times has to be taking its toll. I know that I wouldnt make it 100 times. Best wishes to em. Takes a real trooper to go thru all that. Here is to a fast recovery.

@Mad Hatter

Short of winning B1G, and beating the Bucks on a more regular basis, yeah things are straightening out. We play smash mouth FB again, and our D is delivering slobber knocker hits once more.

Reminds me of the team under Mo. I would say Bo, but we didnt throw this much over the entirety of his career.

Of course, Mo wasnt having the team line up single file AFAICR. Would like to see them do it again this yr, only offset each player like a saw blade, then have the players race to opposite side from where they lined up. That would get a WTF ESPiN notice.

Ack...

You never want anything more than feelings hurt for these young men. Although a swift kick in the ass for TUOS players wouldnt bother me. They got the refs to pat their tushies anyways.

I remember Blake Countess getting hurt in that opening Bama game. He was never the same player IMO. I thought we stood a chance till he was hurt early, and the wheels just totally come off. We should stick to opening with Florida every 3 years.

Then again, it will probably be another 30 yrs before they leave the state for an OOC game.

@PopeLando

Growing up in Flint, I had one friend who was a die hard Sparty fan. On the rare years they won, he would gloat. Forgetting what the norm was.

The last decade was rough though. Both my Regular Dr and Pharmacist are Sparty fans. Unlike most, they didnt gloat too much during the run. I guess they remember the down times. Thankfully my Gastro is a UM alum and season ticket holder.

He is a young man

doing what he thinks is right for him. I wish him the best.

That said, I hope we have enough bodies that this wont bite us.

BLM got started on

The false narrative that Michael Brown was unfairly killed. Hands up dont shoot was a crock of BS. Forensics and autopsy proved it. Holder would of nailed officer Wilson's ass to the wall otherwise. I sure dont recall Wilson being apologized to despite telling the truth.

I do remember officers being executed over it. I remember the 2 white teens killed in Det area, and their murderer calling on Mike Browns name at sentencing.

This is too heated a topic. It has no place where people from both sides go to enjoy a game. First Amendment isnt guaranteed at your place of employment, especially if it turns off a faction of your customers. That is the bottom line.

@Stringer Bell

No matter how bad ND is, they always get some good athletes.

Between normal attrition, guys that got booted and not great recruiting, MSU stands to be in a real pickle this season. I respect what Dant has done. I dont like him, but no denying Sparty has had best run, during my lifetime, with him as coach. I think there has been too much turmoil with that program to have a major turn around this season. I am with those thinking 5 or 6 wins.

Even with a mediocre performance, and Kelly turning purple in the face, I would be putting my money on the Irish if I were to bet. Despite it being a home night game for Sparty, you would have to believe they are smelling MSU blood in the water.

Ah well, I guess that is why they play the game.

@Sione's Flow

Not only did he violate that shark, he didnt offer it a cig after, nor a call the next day. They roll like that in the SEC.

Trustblue

What you dont seem to be grasping True is that as a conservative, Antifa is doing the same thing to us, and not a thing is being done about it. They literally are terrorists, yet only NJ has named them as such.

I told you all the first time. I have no use for racists. That includes Identity politics from the left as well as KKK. Racists of a feather and such. When the left uses this excuse or that excuse to take rights, it will apply to us all.

My disgust goes for criminals as well. Which both Antifa and BLM have their share.

You are letting your emotions cloud you from the bigger picture. You dont have the right to physcially assault someone, and if it is going to come to that, the entire US is going to be like Chicago.

I understand it has good intentions

It uses racism to acheive those goals.

The person with the 2.75

Better ace their ACTs or SATs.

What about the poor white kid that hits a 3.5, and the minority comes from money, and has that 2.75? The minority can go ahead of the poor white kid. So just stop. Racism is racism.

BB

You are a clown. Everybody has rights in this country, even if they hurt your precious little feelings.

To selectively enforce rights is a slippery slope I dont care to tread.

901P

I wouldnt of been part of a racist march.

You can bet though if I was surrounded by a bunch of angry people, and someone hit my car suddenly, fight or flight very well could take over depending on the scenario. This from a somewhat sane 49 yr old.

For a 20 yr old racist about to be beat within an inch of their life? Yep. Flight.

They are saying this dude is psychotic no less. Who knows what was going thru his head. The question to ask is if the accident would of happened if he hadnt been attacked. Otherwise, the guy with bat is to blame as well.

Blue balls

You are a simpleton.

Not liking what someone says doesnt give you the right to bash their head in. This is America, dumb ass. Not the middle east.

The racists registered their protest, which was their right as Americans, and they got their asses stomped. Period.

Everything else you are trying to push is emotional nonsense. Unless you are in danger, you dont have the right to put your hands on another person. Which is precisely what Antifa went there to do. It is their modus operandi, and for you to feign ignorance shows how intellectually bankrupt you are.

Really excited for Gary this yr....

Not saying coach would let him get away with it, but some of these college kids coast thru their third yr as to not get hurt for draft. Not that I blame them. Huge money careers await these blue chips.

That for sure wont be an issue this yr. Good god that kid looks like someone from your worst nightmares. Just a machine that can chew you up, and spit you out. Then ask for more. Good thing he is a blue terror. :)

I almost feel sorry for O linement that have to face him. Almost.

Excuse it in your mind as you wish

It still doesnt change that the underlying decision is based upon race. Merit be damned. You are self delusional to think it does.

No Blueph

Some people are born with silver spoons, or have a hook up. That goes for all races. Do you think hunger strike tool at Mizzou was hurting? His dad makes more in a yr that my parents did in their lifetime...combined.

Racism is racism.

There is no reason to pass over the poor white kid with better accomplishments for a minority due to skin color. It is pure racism. Merit matters.

They are entitled to free speech

They also applied for a permit to protest. Not to be punching bags.

I dont care for what they have to say, but this is America, they have the right to say it.

Next.

EDIT here in case you missed the memo

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2017/06/19/sup…

With Asiasi gone

Ty Jr stands to have a monster if he plays to potential. I would like to see the old roll out pass to TE plays, that were our staple in 90s, come back as a regular feature.

BTW...point out said inaccuracies Blue Balls

Or get off my nutsack.

Unlike most, my gut put me on disability 15 yrs ago. I spend many hrs a day researching shit as it breaks up the monotony.

Blue balls

Look in the mirror sometime if you wish to see someone that is a tool.

Merit matters. Not skin, and not sex.

1st Amendment

I have as much use for Nazis as I do for anti white Marxist identity politics. The only legal racism currently in America goes by the name of Affirmative Action, yet no one speaks of it.

Antifa isnt a new game. They have been attacking Conservative meetings for months now. Clowns like Eric Clanton thinking they have the right to take away someones right to free speech. He could of killed someone with his makeshift bike lock weapon.

BLM - do we really need to go there? What do we want? Dead Cops. Have we so soon forgotten?

So tired of this outrage culture, and the continual push to globalism. Piss on both sides doing it. This is America. Follow the laws, assholes.

As far as this part weekend. I find racists disgusting, but they still have rights. I have no doubt BLM and Antifa went looking for trouble, and now someone is dead. Enough already. The guy that hit that dudes car with a bat prior to accident is as much to blame as the driver.

We keep 8 yearly in dynasty league

Total of 8 teams. 1 owner was changed 2 yrs in since league started in 95.

I was already iffy on keeping Watkins, but at least he helps Gurley, who I am also keeping. I already had multiple players on same team though. Cam and Kelvin Benjamin. Carr and Cooper. Having Jeremy Hill just makes it more of a gamble year.

The saving grace is Leveon. If he plays all yr, TDs will roll in.

Cmon opening kick off.

In 20 yrs....

Harbaugh will of won at least half of the NCs during that span. /knock on wood

Rutgers will still suck

MSU players will still frequent jail cells

The Bucks will of quit cheating....yeah I dont believe it either

PSU fans will still be excusing Joe Pa.

ND fans will still think they are special. They are, only "special education" is correct description.

Everyone in Wisconsin will now be microchipped.

PJ Fleck will of been evicted from his boat.

Neb will still have better corn than Iowa

NW will still be only school in B1G close to Michigan academic standards for university

DJ Durkin will be DC at San Jose State

Hoke will of come back to Michigan in unofficial capacity.

RichRod still wont understand that teams are allowed to field a defense.

And last but not least, Brians blog will still be kicking arse.

@URnotguilty

We sure did have some great people around us back at SW. Of all the teachers, I would give the nod to Mrs Berent as best in the school.

Races got along pretty well. The kids had parents that benefitted from GM, even if not directly, money flowed in the city.

Fast forward to what is going on in Flint today, and it makes me sick to think of. So many schools shut down, or in Codys case, tore down. A guy I grew up with now teaches military kids at Gitmo for DOD...kept getting layed off yearly working for Flint schools, and couldnt get his time in.

Unsure if you are handling Jrs defense, but for Srs sake, I hope the police got the wrong guy in this instance.

Evan

It's a bold strategy, Cotton.....

heh.

I have had Crohn's Disease

for 35 yrs now. It is too late in life for this to make much difference, but when they can magically heal things, it will help out future generations, and for that I am happy. Nasty disease.

Went to Flint SW

With Sr. He was a good guy. Served in military. We are friended on FB, but havent spoke in yrs. As a parent, I could only imagine the horror of it all.

Doesnt matter what the dad is like. If a child kills, they have to pay the penalty for taking a life. Wish it hadnt happened. Best wishes to those who have had family members killed(said pay back murder).

I dont know about him being a Steve Perry

But I heard that guy singing for Journey now, and he actually isnt half bad. Heard him do some Guns n Roses stuff as well. Not quite the same as originals, but suprisingly close.

For me though, it is Plant, Mercury and Perry. These guys had to of had a vice in the recording studio, and were clamping down on their nads to hit some of those notes. Geeze!!!

I dont know about these vocals being creme of the crop, but throw in Don Henley, Segar and Mick Jagger. They cranked out a lot of good jams also. Listen to all of them to this very day.

I really hope Gary

lives up to his potential, and the rest of the D line gets enough push to keep him from constantly being tag teamed.

Frank Clark was a decent end, but I am hoping to see a Brandon Graham or Woodley type performance from the DE position.

I forget where I saw it....

But one of the talking heads from the national media proclaimed that Jim was the best coach to get you to the NFL.

I was surprized, as I would think Saban would get that honor on volume alone. Granted with all the blue chippers, it makes it a bit easier.

I hope everyone starts thinking that way. Go Blue.

Let us call it what it is....

The old men didnt need Tom going Super Bowl hero, and smashing their club's records. They had no clue how good he was at golf, how skilled he was with a golf cart, nor if he could tell taller tales while chugging booze at the club house.

Besides that, how would you like see his wife, then go home to the same ole crackers*?

I bet some members are still pissed he got in.

*= reference to the Eddie Murphy skit about thinking a woman was a Ritz, only to realize she is a regular cracker after waiting months to get some. No racist.

Original

They swapped out glass bottles for plastic back about 93. I remember buying up all the 8 packs I could get my hands on in the Flint area. I had the stuff for several months while everyone else was long out.

It is funny, cause after all these years, if you drink original sugar dew now, it tastes weird. The plastic now tastes better as we have been drinking it the past couple of decades.

As these kids get bigger/stronger/faster

It probably isnt a bad idea to bring in 2 QBs per year. Not even taking transfers into account, a season ends too damn quickly for the most important position on the field. A talented defensive end can cause havok on opposing teams season.

That isnt even talking about the Antonio Bass type freak accident that ends entire careers.

Yeah, count me among those that like to have plenty of back up at QB.

@Evenyoubrutus

I take it you arent from mid Michigan, and thus havent seen the down turn since the 70s from this Marxist globalism plan. Nor have you payed attention to the cupcakes and their safe spaces, Antifa attacks, hoax hate crime reports, every thing is the white mans fault, and only whites can be racist. It is a joke. You judge a person on their merits.

I grew up in Flint, and lived in and around the city for about 48 yrs. The south end used to be a nice area. It is akin to a war zone now. They tore my old elementary school Cody down because whores were taking their tricks inside to do business.  I recently bought a house in Owosso to get away. I was living in Flushing, but even that is about to be over run with crime ala a wave of walkers sweeping into town. It happens every where the section 8 rental numbers go up. Not that all are bad, but like with Muslim Terroists, it only takes 5% or so and you got a mess on your hands.

As much as I enjoy Harbaugh as coach, he is an ass for bringing this sausage to the campus. Well for an invite that is. It remains to be seen if Muzzie lover accepts. Like they say in recruiting and dealing with illegal aliens, "build that damn wall". Keep politics away from Michigan Football.
