OT: Sammy Watkins traded to Rams
In two separate deals, Sammy Watkins was traded from the Bills to the LA Rams, and Jordan Matthews was traded to the Bills from the Eagles.
Bills received a 2nd round pick and cornerback E.J. Gaines from LA, and gave Philly cornerback Ronald Darby for Matthews and a 3rd rounder.

Do you guys remember there was a time during the RR years we thought we were gonna get both Watkins and Tajh Boyd? Can't help but wonder how things would have gone had they both come here.

would've been different. Tajh Boyd was a very good college QB, and Sammy Watkins is a game breaker unlike any that has played at Michigan other than D Robinson. A better offense, means more points, fewer 3 and outs, less time the D is on the field. Of course when they do get on the field, they would give up a lot of points so you're probably right.

It was some kid who ended up at Miami(YTM) playing DB, edit: Dallas Crawford

We also had a committment from the then #1 RB in the country Dee Hart. Sigh.....oh what might've been......

I couldn't see MIchigan being any different than Baylor was with RG3 or Texas Tech last year. A top 10 offense and a bottom 10 defense is still only good for 7 wins.

Not a bad move for the Rams. Their offense outside of Gurley is atrocious and they need to give Goff some weapons to work with. Not that I'm convinced he's a long-term answer either, but at least with Watkins around he'll have one less excuse.

i belive the Eagles sent the 3rd and Mathews to the Bills for Darby

Edited, thanks. Not a bad deal for the Bills, getting a few picks and a suitable replacement for their clear rebuild.

Total of 8 teams. 1 owner was changed 2 yrs in since league started in 95.
I was already iffy on keeping Watkins, but at least he helps Gurley, who I am also keeping. I already had multiple players on same team though. Cam and Kelvin Benjamin. Carr and Cooper. Having Jeremy Hill just makes it more of a gamble year.
The saving grace is Leveon. If he plays all yr, TDs will roll in.
Cmon opening kick off.

Until he gets hurt or suspended again.

That sounds like more of a keeper league than a true dynasty

Who cares?
It's always Pats, Steelers, Giants, Packers and some crappy wild card teams that will lose in round 1.
NFL is like groundhogs day.
August 11th, 2017 at 2:09 PM ^
Except other than the Pats, none of those teams have been to a super bowl since 2012.. I agree that the NFL tends to have a few teams that are in the super bowl hunt most years. But what sport doesn't?
August 11th, 2017 at 4:15 PM ^
Yeah, I'd rather watch the NBA where the teams contending for titles are almost random and definately not always the exact same
August 11th, 2017 at 2:55 PM ^
You know the Pats have been the only real constant there, right? Hell I don't think the Giants have made the playoffs in 2-3 years.
The one thing about the NFL that's better than college (the only thing, really) is the overall parity. Yes you can count on the Pats being Super Bowl contenders every year as long as Brady and Belichek are together, but almost any team can rise up in a given year.
In college, you pretty much are what you are and very little will ever change that. Even if a small-time school gets a great coach that gets them close to playoff contending status, he bolts for a better job and then the cycle starts all over again.

Shitty teams trade marginal players. Wow, such exciting news!

Matthews is a pretty underrated player. I understand why the Eagles would go with Agholor, but Matthews would be a great player in the right system.
August 11th, 2017 at 4:16 PM ^
Matthews is solid, but Agholor has been terrible so far. I understand that they needed corners badly though and Darby is at least a solid #2

I think they were already projected to be like 4-12 and had a thin WR corps already. Seems like they're trying to get something for Watkins now, be terrible this season, and hopefully be a top pick next spring
