Youssef Khayat
So I am a big Michigan Basketball fan, but have been in my own little world while out of state for work the past few months. I have only been able to look at box scores, and not watch any of the games. Whats going on with Youssef Khayat? Is he hurt? Not up to speed yet with the transition from Lebanon? Is he even on the bench? I was kinda excited to at least see how he was doing early on and don't see his name in any box score, or find any recent information in a google search.
Thanks to any with some insight, and hope he can hit the court soon?

I wonder how many past players have been mentioned on this blog by name more than Feagin. And I wonder if he knows he's a meme here.

Antonio Bass...what could've been. Does RR get an extra year or two if Antonio Bass was healthy and running the offense? Shit, I hope not.

He got in for ~4 minutes in this game. Looked fine, but he's not really broken into the rotation yet. Perhaps he will this year! But the rotation we do have going looked pretty great today.

Explainable by that he's still trying to get used to the time difference.
November 17th, 2022 at 11:10 AM ^
Tried to drive into the lane and face planted only time he had the ball. Would say he is not comfortable at all
November 17th, 2022 at 12:29 PM ^
Yep he looked like a baby giraffe trying to walk when he got that ball on the wing

He played for the first time tonight for four minutes in garbage time of the blowout over Pitt. I would assume he's just not ready to contribute. Probably a good sign that he's coming along that Howard played him today instead of preserving the option to redshirt him

Related to this:
I have wondered for a while why in football, which plays far fewer games per season, you can play in 4 games and still preserve a redshirt, while in basketball it's one and done.
This makes no sense to me.

He has been hurt since Europe and is struggling to get over whatever it is.
November 17th, 2022 at 10:46 AM ^
Based what I saw last night, he does not look ready to compete in non-garbage time situations. But maybe he had a really off night? He looked a bit disengaged, like he wasn't quite sure what to do. It looked to me like it's going to take some time to develop him. Just my opinion, man, and I could be completely wrong of course.

He logged a few minutes late in the Pitt game. His only registered statistic was a turnover. It looks like his role will be very limited this year based on the rotations that we have seen in the first few games. Recall Mo Wagner’s first year, though. He hardly played until a later B1G matchup against IU, in which he broke out during a ten minute stretch in the 2nd half. Things changed quickly for him after that.

May I suggest adding a checkbox for "I have read and understand the FAQ" when a new account is created?
Also, OP's posting history is rather bizarre, IMO.

He already got a little crazy when Minter was hired:
”Not really sure how any can be *excited* about this hire. Kinda screams desperation to me. All I can do is HOPE he ends up being what we need.
One of the best Universities in THE WORLD, and zero WOW factor. :( “

Funny how concern trolls always go to great lengths to stress this.
November 17th, 2022 at 7:16 AM ^
There are a few funny trolls. When they have a good burn at our expense, there is a whiff of pain upon reading. Most troll are transparent basement-of-mom dwellers, and upon reading their drivel, there is a whiff of joy, overwhelmed by annoyance.
to that end, they don’t go to great lengths in any thought or words. It’s cave man. “I like this team, I no like that team” Simple appeal to authority, or in this case, fandom, as a cover to criticize as a person on the in crowd.
I don’t think the OP is in this category. We are a weird culture, people want to be OPs, there are a lot of bad OPs. But, we must enjoy it right?
November 17th, 2022 at 8:38 AM ^
i wouldn't really call this a concern troll. concern troll would be asking some shit about how Juwan will do after Martelli retires or some other trash take. This is just a lazy & useless forum post by someone who doesn't know how to look at a box score.
November 17th, 2022 at 5:00 PM ^
So concern trolls go after a player deep on our rotation? Gtfo.
I'm getting really tired of people here piling on someone for making a harmless mistake.
Seriously though... don't try to Sigmund Freud something that isn't there.
November 17th, 2022 at 7:04 AM ^
Lousy, uninformative title. Having seen that I expected a start like "So I am a ..." followed by a bunch of inane concern-trolling questions. Got 'em.
November 17th, 2022 at 7:48 AM ^
I have always been of the opinion that we need an honest concern troll post one day, right down to someone using the title "Concern Trolling - Danger Rating: Severe" or something. Perhaps a formal rating system is in order, yes....

Off the top of my head:
I'm not a scUM fan, but I'm genuinely curious: why don't you pass downfield more? I'm just asking questions.
Also, whenever Cade isn't on the sidelines, everyone should be asking, "Where's Cade?"
November 17th, 2022 at 7:32 AM ^
He looks to be at least a year away.
Check back next year, or maybe late in the year.
But he looks like he could use a full off season of Camp Sanderson and individual sessions with the coaching staff.
Barnes seems to be the final man in the rotation this year. And even Tschetter looked more polished in the little bit of time they all got last night.
November 17th, 2022 at 7:37 AM ^
Barnes was going up to do something nasty on his first dunk attempt. We haven't seen that aggressiveness in a drive from a Michigan player in a long time. Rightfully though, the Pitt guy hammered him
