It'll be tough replacing a senior captain in Mike McCray, but I think there will be a vast upgrade in speed by whoever takes his spot, whether it's Ross or Anthony. And if you want to keep finding ways to slow down Meyer's offense, a LB who can roam sideline to sideline will go a long way for that.

O Line. If any player or position group deserves a breakout season, it is the O Line. Nobody likes looking behind them to see the guy thay are protecting compleely pancaked. For whomever makes up the O Line this season, I hope they have a great season and surpass expectations.

It seems he is destined to be a specialist, but I'd love to see a breakout year from Brian Mone. May be a situation with too much competition from Solomon and Dwumfor, but he's a tank that could cause real problems for offenses with his size and strength.

Lots of mentions for our LT situation so I'll not say LT but on offense, I'd like to see a huge year from Ben Bradeson. He's shown flashes, came in with a lot of promise, now we need him to put it all together and help lead this offensive line to more consistency.

It's telling that there are only a couple of guys at a couple of spots that could even be considered sleepers, because we have so many well-established or at least experienced players at so many positions.

And by "telling" I mean: We have a lot of experience and a lot of talent and this team should be really good.

Except the sleeper we all want is a guy at left tackle, which, oh man I'm terrified.

I think everyone expects Patterson, DPJ, Black, McKeon, and Higdon on offense and Chase, Gary, Bush, Long, and Hill on defense to have big years. A little more under the radar guys if you want to call them that I'm expecting to have breakout years are Dwumfor, Solomon, and Perry. That's a bunch of guys we're expecting to have big years, which is encouraging. We are just an average o-line away from having an awesome year.

No Stueber love? I haven't heard any chatter about him but I really liked him as a recruit and could see him filling our LT void this year.

Drew Singleton

The guy is a beast.  Would have been a 5* without his knee injury and is just now fully healthy.  He is an incredible football player.

Overall, this is a roster we will be talking about 20 years from now.  We've got outstanding players at virtually every position.  If the LT comes through, watch out this year.

Peters will be a factor on offense.  I also think McKeon will be a bigger factor than people think on offense, especially since he sorta-kinda can block guys a bit as a TE.

On defense, I think Brandon Watson will continue to be a really solid 3rd corner who would be a starter on a lot of other defenses.

i think higdon has a monster year. i think he drops 1500 yards and 15 tds. look for him to be mentioned in Heisman chatter, ultimately losing out to shea.

JH will silence the doubters that have emerged (mostly in the national press and/or rival fan bases) with a great coaching performance that will deliver huge results this year.

JH will finally have the overall personnel (mostly) that he needs, a great QB room, an overall improved staff, and a maturing team with lots of returning starts.

is defined by a big-time contributor that has not played much (or at all) and no one is currently talking about.  I am going with Stueber ... not a starter at beginning of season but about three games in gets his chance at LT and develops quickly to be what is needed.

...just sounds like a guy with a really comfortable mattress.

Plus, I think Furbush is going to have a surprising amount of impact plays as teams try to playcall to take the viper off the field.

Double down: Ulizio will be needed to fill some snaps this year in the OSU game and will TOTALLY redeem himself!

Schoenle
Oliver Martin
McCaffery
Eubanks/Gentry (I think one or other is set to explode-in a good way)

And never bet against a Glasgow when sleeper is in the line.
