Here we go...

Quick summary: IF McCaskey and Kevin Warren have the stones, Jim should be the only guy on their shopping list.

Plenty of attractive draft picks, intriguing roster mix, new stadium in the way.

Would be the biggest thing to hit Halas Hall since Ditka.

Why does it scream of entitlement? I think it’s very smart. That kind of money will set him up very well for the future after his playing days are over. Whether it’s permissible is something I don’t know but asking for equity instead of salary is very smart and shows maturity in my opinion.

the problem there is ownership.  It's bad.  Real bad.  I think there are enough nepo babies in that organization that it's not likely to get straight, nor likely to give JH the freedom he'd need to truly make change there.

As a born and raised die hard Bears fan, you hit the nail on the head.  Bears ownership is maybe the worst in the league and that is saying something when Dan Snyder still owns Washington. (for now)

There isn't a football brain in the whole family, and they have been living off the Halas name forever.  Infact, and I had to look this up, the McCaskey family is the only owner in the NFL where they have NO business ventures outside of the Team.  This means their ONLY source of income is the Chicago Bears.  So, in a way, I can never understand why they DONT put everything they have into making that team as successful as possible.

The McCaskey family has a lot of bad history as well.  Do some research and read about how Virginia (the current head of the team) really fucked over her younger brother's (Mugs Halas) kids and grandkids when he died.  That woman is a real piece of work.

While this will sound bad, there is a reason most Bears fans are waiting for the day she finally kicks the bucket.  Shes not a good person at all.

I've posted this like 5 times, but I have a reoccurring nightmare that Harbaugh goes to the Bears and drafts JJ and Harrison Jr with those high draft picks.

It's a nightmare because I'm also a Lions fan.

Though, honestly, with what has happened between the B1G and the NCAA and the Michigan administration bending over for them, it'd be very hard to blame him.

Did Kevin Warren have a good relationship with Jim? If so, then it is possible. If not, then we are safe because no way would Jim want to have to answer to Warren if he thought Warren undermined him when the commish of the B1G Backstabbers.

I love Jim and he's been a successful NFL coach, but he doesn't really fit the current trend of promoting young coordinators to HC positions. That's a copy cat league if there ever was one.

I would never work for the McCaskey’s. They’re relics. If I had Harbaugh’s personality, I would avoid that situation like the plague.

This is the most plausible “Harbaugh to the NFL” option IMO.  I can even see him taking JJ and Marvin Harrison Jr with him.

Depending on what his personal relationship is with Kevin Warren and the family that owns the Bears, this is pretty attractive if you’re Harbaugh.

Actually, I think (you should include that qualifier as well) if you're Harbaugh, it's downright unattractive compared to what he has now.

I swear like maybe 10% of people actually seem to be able to read Harbaugh, it seems really strange to me. I think it's as obvious as it can be, that he wants to be here, and enjoys being here.

I think the real question will be whether Harbaugh wants any NFL job, or a good NFL job. Does he want another realistic shot at a Super Bowl, or just to be in the League? Because it would seem like, especially after this year, he could get an NFL job if he wanted. But a good job, a good situation to walk into, is going to be much harder to find (first and foremost because teams in good situations are much less likely to have fired their HC). He walked into a great situation in SF, a talented roster that was underperforming and lent itself to an immediate turnaround. But whether he could get something similar again is anyone's guess. I hope he's smart enough not to make the Beilein mistake, jumping into an unwinnable situation just for the sake of going to the pros. At this stage in his life, you'd have to think he doesn't want to be looking for another job in three years because his crappy NFL team couldn't get it together. And the Bears seem like one of the five or so worst franchises in the NFL right now...

*I guess there's also the question of whether he wants the NFL at all anymore. I'm hoping that all this NCAA/B1G bullshit has galvanized him to stay here to win and stick it to everyone else...

"New stadium on the way" - I'll believe it when I see it.  I haven't heard anything new on that in at least 6 months, and the last thing reported is that the Bears can't make an agreement on tax benefits with Arlington Heights so they're shopping the stadium around to other suburbs.  It's gonna be at least a decade until they move, IF they end up moving IMO.

I think Harbaugh will leave if he gets an offer from the NFL. The Bears are a possibility and not a bad spot considering their draft picks. Hopefully he sticks around but I'm sure he will talk to NFL teams after the season is over. Buckle up!
