I just got a PS5 for Christmas and have been playing Madden for the first time in 8+ years. The gameplay isn’t as smooth as the old NCAA games but the graphics are beautiful and I don’t hate it as much as others seem to. I hope for more than a simple reskin but would still happily play it if that’s all we get. My daughter’s gonna have to find a new dad for a couple months because I’m going to be out buying a carton of milk for a while.

I still play the EA 2006 version (the one with Desmond on the cover).  I had to get a separate drive to get the old game to work, but I love firing that up late on a Saturday after the kid and wife have gone to bed.

all I see is people whining about Madden and this being a ripoff, remember, they literally delayed this game a year to develop a new engine. I will be playing the fuck out of this game once it drops, and based on what I'm reading, there isn't much reason not to. Enhanced dynasty mode which is a focus of the game (very unusual for an EA game to flat out say that...usually they succumb to the money of UT) and combine that with the gameday elements (the possibility...NOTE POSSIBIILITY of hearing Mr. Brightside at Michigan games, the announcer saying "Welcome to the largest crowd of people watching a game today", tapping the banner in 4k...why the fuck would I not want this game

The last time we had an EA CFB game, UofM was in the middle of the 8-5 2012 and 7-6 2013 seasons.  This time we are the defending National Champions.  I suspect we'll enjoy this version much, much more....to say nothing of upgrades in functionality, realism, etcetera.

I can’t wait! I’m not sure if this is possible, but I would love it if they could include some notable historical teams/stadiums, too.

Maybe such a thing can be accomplished through the mod community, if it can’t be done in the base game.

I’m cautiously optimistic. I just hope that the actual gameplay is nothing like Madden’s scripted/forced animation BS.

I mean as much as I am happy to have a college football game back, it is a bit dubious for how the actually quality is going to be that they don't any initial footage they want to show only 5 months from release. Most games honestly have something to show on that front  1+ year out from release even. So I am bracing for a potential rough product in this first year back. Also still play the updated modded version of NCAA Football 14 on my PC so have at least had that to hold me over all this time. The guys who have been doing that modded College Football revamped project each year did an amazing job.

I'm not a gamer - but, my son is.  And, he mentioned that every NCAA player on the EA roster will get some NIL dollars.   IMO, this is an appropriate use / application of NIL policy / rule / guidelines.

If you're going to play - enjoy it.   And, Go Blue!
