Wisconsin Fans Reacting/Commenting on Brad Davison Suspension
I figured everyone could use some Thursday morning light reading and laughs. As we know, Brad Davison has been suspended 1 game and their 2nd leading scorer, Kobe King, has left the team.
Their fans haven't been taking this very well and are downright comical in their opinions. Here are some of my favorites and there's a link at the bottom if you wanted to check out all of them.
As sports fans, we love to irrationally defend our own guys...
"While not condoning Davison’s behavior, it seems rare, at least to me, for a flagrant 1 to result in a suspension."
"Consistency...I mean, fine… I get it. Definitely need to protect player safety. But at least have some consistency in these decisions, B1G, when it comes to suspected "repeat offenders." Correct me if I’m wrong, but Adam Woodbury eye-gouged away without suspension."
"I still contend Davison hooked the inside of the thigh trying to get around the screen. But what’s done is done now."
"I’ve seen way more flagrant crap not even called flagrant, much less suspended."
"Frankly, I don’t think he was trying to hit the screener in the junk. It looked to me like he was using the guy’s leg as a pivot point to get around the screen faster."
"At least be factually correct. He didn’t hit the Iowa player in the junk – he hooked his leg."

Punchable face. Very much.
EDIT: I did not see the video until after posting my reply. Here it is. And wow. Anyone honestly defending this is a complete idiot or blind homer. That is an obvious punch to the nuts.

"But but but...he was just hooking the leg to get around the screen faster!"
-Wisconsin Fans
I've honestly never seen a player stick their arm in an opponent's groin are as a means of competitive advantage. It's only ever to injure.
That link also shows some comments where Wisconsin fans claim Davison doesn't have a reputation of dirty plays
January 30th, 2020 at 7:40 AM ^
It’s pretty apparent his momentum is slowed by the impact, so how does this help get through the screen faster??
Total BS.
January 30th, 2020 at 8:35 AM ^
We as Michigan fans can get a little irrational at times when it comes to defending out own, but this is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Well, at least maybe close to some of the OSU fans who defended Zach Smith.
January 30th, 2020 at 7:06 PM ^
Fun fact: Muggsy Bogues used to beat screens by swinging through Shaq’s legs on his dick like Pitfall Harry on a vine
January 30th, 2020 at 8:07 AM ^
As with Grayson Allen, it looks so compulsive that you wonder if he can control himself. You worry someone's gonna wax the kid.

Luka Garza thinks they are fine.
January 30th, 2020 at 11:40 AM ^
It's amazing. Does a guy born with a punchable face -- Davison, Allen -- automatically become a dirty player? Or does the dirty player develop a punchable face?
Science.
January 30th, 2020 at 5:11 PM ^
Grayson admires the great play.
January 30th, 2020 at 12:35 PM ^
Hopefully the ball punched player was wearing ball lifters. Less hang time could reduce injury.
January 30th, 2020 at 7:25 AM ^
There is one camera angle where it’s a lot more obvious what he did. Kid is trying to hurt people and the next time he does it he should be done for the season.
January 30th, 2020 at 7:37 AM ^
Brad “Vanilla Nut Taps” Davison.
January 30th, 2020 at 7:54 AM ^
In other news: a lot of sports fans are stupid and biased towards their team.
January 30th, 2020 at 9:24 AM ^
Idk man, the Bears fans in that ongoing short documentary they used to have on SNL seemed extremely fair and reasonable when it came to assessing their team.
January 30th, 2020 at 10:48 AM ^
This was my first thought, I agree completely.
In other news, UW fans hate nuts.
January 30th, 2020 at 8:21 AM ^
I get being a homer, but this is embarrassingly bad.
January 30th, 2020 at 8:22 AM ^
This is definitely a strong candidate for the Robert Reynolds Award from the Big Ten for the year's dirtiest, most unsportsmanlike act.
January 30th, 2020 at 8:38 AM ^
They should have a fan nut punch night at the next home game. Line up to get punched in the nuts by Davison.
January 30th, 2020 at 8:47 AM ^
"Don't worry, folks, it won't hurt. He's just going to try to hook your leg to get around your screen faster."
January 30th, 2020 at 9:00 AM ^
Davison is definitely a player that if John Chaney was coaching against him, would undoubtedly "send in the goons" to go up against Davison and his bush league crap.
January 30th, 2020 at 10:45 AM ^
John Chaney was a complete goon. Let's not act like he would be the arbiter of what's good and right.
January 30th, 2020 at 9:02 AM ^
These are the same fans who booed the decision to toss the Badger defender who targeted McCaffrey. Lowlifes.
January 30th, 2020 at 9:42 AM ^
^^ times 1,000. If near decapitation isn’t an issue for Badger fans, a little nut jiggle isn’t going to move them
January 30th, 2020 at 9:47 AM ^
Man I hope DCaff drops 50 on them this next season.
January 31st, 2020 at 2:30 PM ^
that would take him about 12 games
January 30th, 2020 at 12:09 PM ^
I was so confused as Connor McCaffrey was who Davison nut punched and the game was in Iowa City Monday night.
I now get it's Dylan and the football game in Madison you are referencing!
January 30th, 2020 at 9:06 AM ^
What's worse? Having a guy on your team that's a serial leg hooker or a coach on your team that's a serial litterbug?
January 30th, 2020 at 9:15 AM ^
Craig James only wishes that his crimes were alleged.
January 30th, 2020 at 11:24 AM ^
*allegedly*
January 30th, 2020 at 9:17 AM ^
Where are you getting these? Wisconsin fans on reddit are fed up with him and they're glad he got suspended.
January 30th, 2020 at 9:22 AM ^
Just wait until more MGoBloggers discover how rational Reddit is in comparison on game day.
January 30th, 2020 at 12:02 PM ^
Exactly. There are plenty of Wisconsin fans that are done with him.
Example: "Brad Davison’s latest cheap shot even has Wisconsin fans turning on him" https://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2020/1/28/21111937/brad-davison-cheap-shot-wisconsin-badgers-iowa-video-dirty

I was at the game when Chris Paul (Wake Forest) punched Julius Hodge (NC State) in the junk....his career worked out pretty well after that (hopefully the link works).
January 30th, 2020 at 9:39 AM ^
This is a vocal minority. Having lived in WI for 30+ years and spending time on some lesser known WI sports forums, most of their fans are sick of this kid. They have been labeling him a poor man's Grayson Allen.
Many were disappointed that the conference had to suspend him and that UW didnt do it first.
January 30th, 2020 at 9:42 AM ^
I'd be tempted to give Davison the choice: take a one-game suspension, or get a swift kick in the nuts from one of the dong-punched players.
Your choice, Sophie.
January 30th, 2020 at 11:26 AM ^
Could always call in Draymond to kick him in the nuts too.
January 30th, 2020 at 9:47 AM ^
Wisconsin players have gotten away with boxing out and putting their feet where the shooter will land for way too long. Such a dirty play and can cause serious injuries. I hope this sheds some light on the dirtiness that is pervasive in their program. Dispicable.
January 30th, 2020 at 9:49 AM ^
It's nice to not be the team being dong-punched for a change...
January 30th, 2020 at 11:27 AM ^
Unfortunately, I don't think we're quite out of the woods yet in that regard. He might not be suspended on 2/27. I'll still be guarding my soul-dong carefully between now and then.
January 30th, 2020 at 10:08 AM ^
Fuck Wisconsin basketball. That's from the heart.
January 30th, 2020 at 10:16 AM ^
To be fair, Adam Woodburry was 100% a dirty player who should have been suspended. But also fuck Brad Davidson and Wisconsin basketball.
January 30th, 2020 at 4:03 PM ^
Yep, I'm guessing Hawkeye fans who are out for blood regarding Davison are the same ones who twisted themselves up and down swearing that Woodbury was just a poor, misunderstood goofy-as-fuck 7-footer who was definitely not a dirty SOB attempting to blind everyone on the opposite roster.
January 30th, 2020 at 10:35 AM ^
Redefines "ball screen" if you ask me..
January 30th, 2020 at 10:47 AM ^
Davison is a dirty player. Someone should punch him in the nuts when he comes back to see how Davison and Wisconsin fans feel toward it then
January 30th, 2020 at 11:59 AM ^
I hope those last few posters get their legs hooked soon.
what in the fuck is hooking a leg? I don’t remember that being a defensive technique when I played. Love the homer herd mentality of jumping onto that made up term\idea.
January 30th, 2020 at 12:00 PM ^
Yeah, there were some sane voices pointing out that he's a cheap player and should be called out for it, but there's a certain "Grayson Allen is just misunderstood" vibe with Davison.
January 30th, 2020 at 12:39 PM ^
Trash player, absolute trash. I hope the next person he does it to levels him.
