I'm sure we'll get plenty of additional info in the next few days, and things may continue to move back and forth. Would be nice to get an authoritative take (to the extent one exists) on the apparently contradictory quotes that came out yesterday.

I've got big balls

I've got big balls

And they're such big balls

Dirty big balls

And he's got big balls

And she's got big balls

But we've got the biggest balls of them all!

I never like our chances when Bama is our primary competition.  I've learned not to expect good outcomes in these cases.  I would love to be wrong.

I'm daydreaming of a D-Line that includes Gary, Solomon, and Tufele and whichever large athlete breaks out at the WDE spot (there are many candidates) for the next few years.  This year they'd have Hurst to rotate behind/with.  Can somebody mock up a photo so the staff can show Solomon and Tufele how beatiful that would look?  Yep I'm dreaming, I know, but that line would be insane.

It's never as complicated as it's made out to be.

Look at Chuck F and his 'announcement' at the Army game.  Article came out the other day quoting him as saying he knew it was Michigan when he visited.  I have a feeling Aubrey blew the BBQ letter out of proportion ...said what he did impetuously and has been wanting to make things right for a while.  (his Mom)

Everything I've heard from Sam is that he's not likely to give a gut feeling on this kid. Which is not a bad thing. Sam has said the 'gut feeling' signs are there but this recruitment has just been so wacky that it really is anyone's guess what he does. But the Wiltfong CB does make me a bit optimistic now. We seem to have his mom on our side, hope she can seal the deal!

Not buying it. This is Najee 2.0. I think Saban is telling these kids to lead us on, not that we couldn't get them but the drama has been pretty high this year.

At this point in the game, you lock a kid up if you can. It's one thing in July to say: "take your visits". In mid-January you don't encourage a kid to "go hang around with those other really convincing coaches at another marquee program".

The most irritating part of the Najee Harris saga was the conclusion that because he chose Alabama, there's no way he was serious about Michigan and we were all taken for a ride.

There's no way Harris endured what he endured, no way he visits Ann Arbor multiple times, no way he says the glowing things he does about Harbaugh without considering Michigan.  Just because we lost out doesn't mean it wasn't 51%-49%.

Najee DID lead us on by being receptive to Michigan's advances.  There's nothing wrong with that, but if he was dead-set on Alabama, there's no chance Jim Harbaugh exhausts the time and resources he did to pursue him.

We had a shot at Najee Harris.  He could only pick one.  He went with Alabama.

There's no shame in that result and nothing wrong with Michigan fans following that recruitment.

Well Big, I know for a fact that some of the freshman I know thought he was coming for sure a few weeks ago. So if he was fucking with everybody he was going all out, and I don't think he was.

If Saban was really worried about Michigan recruiting in the south, and wanted to discredit them, he would want his guys to commit to Bama as fast as they can without having a Michigan hat at the table. By prolonging the commitment via the scenario you laid out, having the national media and the very recruits themselves openly talk about how Michigan is a favorite only gives credit to the idea of Michigan really being a factor in recruiting the south, which impacts hype, which impacts the perceptions of future Southern recruits.

what Saban and Smart are selling.  While Saban can sell multiple national titles, a track record of getting players in to the NFL, and running a tight ship, there is not much he can speak to regarding actual education.

Smart is selling hope and whatever SEC shenanigans he learned from Saint Nick.

Harbaugh is selling one of the top universities in the world, not to mention a traditional powerhouse blue blood program on the rise back to elite status with an already elite coaching staff and young players on board.

The things he writes about Saban and Smart are points that are in the public setting. It's also conventional wisdom. He doesn't pretend to know the inner thoughts of either coach. There's room to disagree (there's probably someone somewhere who thinks a Bama degree is awesome) but nothing he wrote merits your response.

Not new thread worthy, but i would have really, really liked Michigan to take a chance on Willie Rodgers.  I think he is one of the most underrated kids, and will be one of the hidden gems of this entire recruiting class.

in a couple of years. I like to follow the kids we take flyers on due to a high ceiling. This class has unusually few that have been overlooked. St. Juste already got a massive boost in the rankings. Samuels isn't low rated, but I feel he's still been underrated. Paea and Stueber are my other candidates for players that will turn out to be steals.

Are you a Harbaugh that can charm an entire family while still managing to win the go kart race in an all out ruthless competition, ensuring Aubrey's sister gets a victory lap?

I think not.  It's simple for a Renassaince man like Harbaugh.  The rest are left spitefully watching him take the checkered flag.

He's been very supportive of Otis Reese committing here for 2018. I've wondered if it means he would be an advocate for us with regard to Solomon. In any case, much better than the hostility coaches sometimes show when we're competing with the local school.
