Not sure what happened, but not upset that they're gone.
no thanks
no thank you. It'll remind me too much of the trash tornado game.
One untrustworthy fart and everyone knows you've fucked up.
Given to me by one of my older customers; when you get to be older than 65-70 years old, never, ever trust a fart.

how bout no?
They only used the white road pants for two years from 1974 to 1975. They went back to maize pants for both and home and away after that. And frankly, let's keep it tha way.

Back during the Rodriguez years there were some practice shots of the team trying out new white pants with the uniforms and I thought they looked.... pretty good. I'd never mess with the home uniform, but I thought they'd work well for the road uniforms. Now off to Google the archives, I'll post the pics if I can find them.
Ack, you locked out my edit. But that's not what I was talking about. It was actually during the first Hoke spring practices, and here is the post I was talking about. Here is the best picture, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with this being the road uniform:
EDIT: Going through the whole album, found a couple more decent looks:
is that white isn't one of our colors. It's a Sparty color. That uniform doesn't look bad, but it isn't right for us.

The white pants were supposedly hanging in the lockers and ready to go for the Iowa game in 2009, and there were heavy rumors all week they'd be worn. In the end, they weren't.
While I am not sure who implemented it, Maize'n'Brew ran an article a few years ago on who axed it. From that article:
Coach Bo Schembechler finally made the decision to move on from the white pants, saying "if Maize Pants can get it done at home, they can get it done on the road too." White Pants was fired, and has not been heard from since.
White pants went 18-3-2 with a bowl loss to Oklahoma in 1975, as I recall.
Michigan was going to wear white pants at Iowa in 2009 but they decided not to.
The stripes on the pants were supposed to match up with the elephant tusk road jerseys worn from 2008-2011.
fortunately saner heads prevailed.
1975 was my freshman year and television appearances were limited, thus we did not have to suffer the white pants very often. The Orange Bowl just highlighted how wrong they were (see the OP's pictures above).
If they want to wear them in practice, fine, but please honor Bo and keep them out of the games!
I would like to see what they look like in a modern design mock-up but I have a feeling I wouldn't like them.
I don't like white pants with white uniforms, especially with colored helmets. It just doesn't look right to me.

Had a kid in Jr High get diarrhea in white pants during football practice and have been against them ever since. Also the whole white thing after labor day...

Michigan is 1-0 in Blue pants, so wear them again.
The white jerseys with white pants isn't too good of a look, but the white jerseys with blue pants (done back in the '60's or '70's as I recall) isn't too bad.
I'm still waiting on the only alt that I ever really wanted to see: Blue pants on the road.
Don't need to mess with the numbers or throw in any weird stripes or patterns. Just blue pants instead of maize. It seems so easy and obvious compared to bumblebee jerseys. Come on!
I think the white pants with the white jerseys make the helmet colors pop out more. I would likte to see them occasionally.
Only after Labor Day.
But I've always liked the look with the white pants on most teams. It's a classic look, IMO. Now in Michigan's case, a better case is made for the maize pants, since it's symbolic with Michigan football, but I wouldn't mind seeing white pants come out a time or two per season on the road against some middling opponent like Indiana.
Don't Fuck with the Uni's. We have the best in CFB, both home and away!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And in general the road uniforms are fine for experimentation. They've been tinkered with a 1000 times over the years.
I don't want to see the home uniforms messed with.
