One can only guess as to the boots. Unacceptable.
is what I think you meant.
a comment in this thread i can understand
It was five to one, I got four.
Shoot straight for once, you army pukes.
Keeps me warm.
What a name ... and according to Wikipedia, that's the name he was born with.
That GIF looks exactly like my next door neighbor. I mean ... exactly.
The wheel of life ... it keeps a turnin' ...
This board is sad, but Basin City rejoices.
Even Boothe's performance - one of his first roles, I think - as Jim Jones in the TV movie Guyana Tragedy was both incredible and at the same time very chilling. He was great in "Hatfields & McCoys" as well, I thought, in addition to everything that others have already mentioned.
Oh, man, he was scary as hell as Jim Jones. Damn, what a performance. Thanks for reminding me.
what has happened to this blog...
Tough news. He was so fucking gangster as Cy Tolliver in Deadwood. Appartently he was originally supposed to play Al but was too sick or something, so Milch wroter Cy for him.
RIP Powers. Very underrated actor.
This is how I'd like to think he went out. A total bad ass.
For those who like posts like this. I appreciate the tribute in keeping with the style of person honored. Also, I have to admit the mystery of the original post improves the chances others will click on this item and comment.
However, for those who are not "in on" the reference, we'd appreciate a comment fairly early in the queue explaining who Powers Booth was and the idea behind the original post. Keep the minimalism for those who understand it, but share the idea with the rest of us neakulturney b______s.
I thought the OP was a fitting tribute to an actor who could utter 3-5 words and make them land to lasting effect. I'm sad he's gone and wanted to honor the man.
I thought more people would be aware of who it is and the fact that he just died, what with, you know, the internet being broadly available and all.
The gif gets used enough around here - I thought there would be more Powers Boothe fans in the crowd.
Extreme Prejudice--Powers Boothe at his absolute best as Cash.
Dee-bo!
Directed by Walter Hill and Nick Nolte turned in a great understated performance, while Boothe chewed up the bad guy role. Like a lot of Walter Hill stuff, the style was everything. A way underappreciated movie.
Yeah, Extreme Prejudice is an absolute gem of a film. Like Trespass with Paxton, Ice Cube and Ice-T, it's a great actioner that didn't get just due upon release.
Two guys in one of the best movies ever made in Tombstone. RIP.
Died in his sleep at age 68....great actor loved many of his roles
RIP
Gee, If I retire at 64, I ihope I have another good 15 years left. Not 4!
