This Week In Photoshop: The Stadium
I shall now attempt to lose all my points by posting the following concept of new endzone decks and painted endzones.
Let the wrath ensue:
I'm not sure if this would work well and am not saying it is a good idea, but I've wanted to see what it might look like for a while and perhaps others have too. Thus, a rough concept was born.
You may now proceed to harpoon me for sacreligious photoshopping and sub-par fandom, or you can surprise me and discuss the idea.

I do like the way it looks! The crowd-noise gain alone would be enough to justify it, and the stadium wow-factor when you walk in would be even more increased than it is already!
At the same time, they still do have trouble filling the seats as it is. Even during this season, even during peak hype, the upper bowl-ish parts were a little sparse. The stadium-attendance-down-around-the-country might reverse of course, and Michigan itself might be immune due to Harbaugh/Success, but it depends, it depends on how much the powers that be care about the optics/implement ways to get more people in the stadium (learning from Brandon's mistakes that is).
The NFL doesn't have as much of a problem because those guys are wasted and can keep boozing in the stadium!

When Michigan becomes a perennial National Championship contender under Harbaugh, demand will rise. End zone decks might start looking really good to the "powers that be" by 2020 or so.
before someone tries to sell this idea.
Wait, if this is a future view, why is Brady Hoke on the field clapping at the 45 yard line???
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I appreciate your effort of putting that together.

because I liked the look of the stadium as it was, a nice even bowl all the around except the majestic press box. This takes that back to a nice even look.

ya i thought about this too. and if this became an issue, add some rows above the suites and it will just be a taller/louder version of what it is now.
You are right. Prepare to be negged a lot. As for me, I think it is a cool design concept, but we should wait a long time before deciding to build something like this.
Why are you telling yourself to be prepared to be negged a lot?
Because, while he says he's Santa, he's actually this guy.
... looks real. That being said, i'm all for the end zones. My guess is that it's a lot cheaper than the second level, but I'm not an architect or a groundskeeper, so I can't say for certain.
Looks like Helms Deep. I like it.
on Saturday at noon
not doing phrasing anymore?
for the endzones...looks great
If the stadium goes through another renovation like this, I would expect the video display to be upgraded to a larger, wider version.
Kind of torn about the end zones being all blue with the traditional maize lettering. I like that look during some of the bowl games as a change of pace, it's actually one of the things I like most about going to bowl games. Not sure having it all the time would create the same feeling. Other than that personal preference, nice job.
Are those University of Michigan Dearborn students way up there in the upper decks?
The Kids Deck sponsored by Toys R Us.
Full disclosure, I've actually considered taking a class or two there just to get access to student tickets.
Because I'm cheap. And like college girls.
Nope. U of M Flint. Close, though.

Plus those extra tacked-on end zone seats suck.
U-shaped like that toilet bowl in columbus? No thanks. Keep it symmetrical.
Illinois
It'd be awesome to have a few more inches for seating.
Good job with the photo shop. If they did this they'd have to ensure they don't put seats right next to the suites so evreyone can have sitelines for the entire game.

Oddly enough, the only thing I'm not 100% on is the blue end zones. We should absolutely build the stadium up like that.
Nice work, man.
