Way OT: Detroit Metro Realtors
Mrs. Dennis and I have done the pre-approval process and are actively looking for a place in the Detroit/Metro area and are seeking a reputable agent. We're looking for something on smaller side (We're dinks) so our budget is anywhere from $100K to $270K. Hazel Park, Bagley, Oak Park, Ferndale seem like good areas to look but I welcome any guidance there.
Do any of you have recommendations for an agent? We're looking for someone who is honest and down-to-earth. We don't vibe with the buttoned-up type-A salesly people, we just want a more casual experience. Ideally, they would have intimate knowledge of the area so we can avoid places that have inadequate infrastructure/community services, etc. School quality isn't an issue.
[ED: YOOOOOOO use Demorest! Great dude grew up around here also happens to support this site as much as anyone.

Kevin Brennan from Bolton Associates. He's been there forever, knows the area inside and out, and has helped us buy and sell multiple residences.
Hope you get this before your thread gets taken down.
Ed: what is a dink?
Dual Income No Kids
Haha! Thanks. Didn't know it because I never was one!

Hello fellow Dildo!
ppl with these stickers
They're not wrong...
This sticker is hillarious. I have 3 boys, 12 14 and 14 so i realize how true that sticker is lol.
It would be way more accurate if those money bags ran the full length of the back window.
Tell him Hab sent you and save $500 on closing costs!
What'll he do if I say Putin sent me?
Cower in fear, most likely.
Pre Ukraine i would have agreed with you. Now, probably laugh.
Try Patrick Hixson. He's with Keller Williams. He's a good dude and lives is Ferndale so should know the area.

Chris Cichocki - sold my house in LO for my move to Florida - did a great job
I highly recommend Drew Mahar with Good Company Realty out of Royal Oak. We've used him in our last 2 moves, very casual and knows the area very well.
Another great city between Southfield and Royal Oak is Berkley, affordable and a great school district.
Thanks! I've seen some listings there I may go check them out
I’m in process of moving out of Royal Oak. Too expensive here. Good luck.
Best of luck to you, everything is ridiculously expensive in SE MI
Hahahaha, come out to Seattle some time.
Also in West Michigan... I work in real estate over here...
Compared to what? Poland?
SE Michigan is hardly one of the big pricing run up markets in the country. Try Nashville or So FL.
Honestly, go with a top team and ask for their associate. The associate will work his ass off. You don’t want some causal hack, you will get what you pay for. This is an important investment, go with a top team that has younger agent that want to prove themselves.
Those are the types that will usually do exactly what he asked to not get
He wants to buy a home. You want the aggressive team that will door knock and cold call, not some agent that makes you feel good.
hire an agent that produces the outcome you need
Kinfolk say Dennis move away from here. Californy is the place you ought to be. Load up the truck and move to Beverly. Hills that is.
School quality correlates with home appreciation. I would recommend buying in an area of good school quality just for investment reasons.
Well, I'd recommend Downriver for cheaper living, but then again, we have a reputation in this part of Wayne County so homes don't appreciate quite as much....except in Trenton maybe. Maybe.
The I-75 corridor in Oakland County is fine as well, of course. Good luck in the house hunt!
I'm not super worried about appreciation so I may consider downriver for sure.
We don't plan on having kids - this will be my third home and her first, just gonna nest and stay long term.
Not sure that living in an area with lousy schools is going to be a good long-term decision.
Dennis, give me a ring. I have been working with MGoBloggers for a decade as the official real estate sponsor. 734 882 8194. Matt Demorest, HomeSure Lending and Realty
